I just now remember that DMC Devil May Cry is probably the best example for exactly what I mean and I know they've somewhat learned about their mistake, but not enough to change the whole production chain so that the marketing guys have *nothing* to decide on the game
Capcom doesn't shy away from hiring Power Rangers actors (and stuntmen). Dan is Vergil/Eric Myers, Johnny Yong Bosch is Nero/Adam Park (MMPR Black II) and Reuben Langdon was an extra in a few episodes of Time Force; he wasn't a Ranger but he was in a different Tokusatsu show, B-Fighter Kabuto.
One little detail I find with Dante's hair is how his eyes are usually obscured - particularly during casual scenes when he's being more "human" - but his eyes are made clearly visible during scenes in which his "demon" side becomes apparent. And while this detail also gradually becomes more and more mixed throughout the game as Dante comes to accept his inner demon, certain particular scenes stay true to the trend. In the introduction to Jester, Dante's eyes are mostly hidden, but a few slight glances of them can be seen, showing his anger towards the clown. (24:20) In the cutscene where Dante catches Lady, his eyes can't be seen until after she shoots him and he lives, clearly showing that he's a demon. (34:33) In the scene after the first fight with Vergil when he awakens, we have a clear shot showing his eyes just before he triggers for the first time. (41:17) In the scene immediately afterwards, once he realizes his newfound power, his grinning is accompanied by clearer views of his eyes. (42:55) During the playful skirmish with Lady, his eyes are still mostly obscured, but a few glances of them can be caught throughout, which is indicative of him slowly coming to accept his demonic traits and integrate them with his human side. (56:15) Before the second fight with Vergil, his eyes are obscured when he's speaking more casually with him (1:13:13). But after the fight, throughout the time he's speaking to Jester, his eyes are clearly shown, unconcealing his sheer irritation and annoyance with the fool. (1:17:22 & 1:19:07) In the cutscene after the fight with Lady and in the one immediately prior to the Dopplegänger fight, Dante's hair is in it's usual position slightly obscuring his eyes. But despite that, they can be seen clearly now, showing the inner balance he's found. (1:32:34 & 1:35:14) And in the final fight, when Dante says "even if it means killing you"... he tilts his head up, revealing his eyes. He's accepted both sides to himself, retaining the care he has for his brother, but being able to show that demonic coldness to him when necessary. (1:55:22) ...but then when he reaches out for his brother, his hair is squarely in front of his eyes again. They're still visible here, but in this particular instance, his human side is coming through, showing the shock and desperate concern he's feeling over his brother throwing himself into the abyss. (1:56:36)
Sadly, the hair thing is a bug present on the HD release where its opacity is always at max thanks to the upscaling of the textures. If you watch the cutscenes on the PS2 version this bug is not present and Dante's eyes are always somewhat visible

I know it's already been almost a year since you commented this, but I just can't help but say that at one point in time, you were as just as bad as this guy and you can't really fault him for that.
Really great story opportunities going forward as well. For example... I can see Dante disappearing from the underworld only to find out he was captured and put under the control of the now fully revived King Mundus in DMC6. Nero learns of Dante’s situation and the resurgence of Mundus through Trish who is connected to Mundus at a deep level (she was created by him). Nero and Trish find a way to enter the underworld and, with Trish as both guide and ally, they eventually run into Vergil who is actively pursuing Dante and Mundus. Vergil not only aims to save Dante from Mundus’ manipulation, but also seeks revenge for Mundus capturing and manipulating him in DMC1, for his parents’ death, and for being the root cause of all his suffering. I imagine Vergil despises Mundus with a passion. Thus begins a long and deep story where you play as Nero, Trish, Vergil, and eventually Dante (once he is saved from Mundus’s control). The sons of Sparda then team up to destroy Mundus once and for all which can only be done if Mundus is forced to use 100% of his power. Otherwise he’ll regenerate. This appears to be the end of Trish who was created from Mundus’s own power. She, along with every other demon created by Mundus, is absorbed back into himself. We learn Mundus has the option to parse out his power to create individual demons at will, but he can’t selectively absorb his creations back into himself. It’s an all or nothing thing, and something Mundus does not do lightly. When Mundus is defeated, we find Trish is miraculously restored bc, unlike the other demons created by Mundus, Trish has a soul....Tho now she is SEEMINGLY human. P.S. Vergil’s comment during DMC5 wondering if he and Dante’s fates would have been switched if their mother found him instead of Dante seemed a lot like foreshadowing.
Nah I'd rather have dante and vergil to beat the shit out of mundus and kick him straight into the human world were they do a jackpot scene reminiscent of dmc 3s except with Nero added and that's what finally kills mundus.

DMC5 will surely be a gameplay masterpiece but I don't trust any AAA media publisher to make superb stories anymore (sometimes there still are some, but scarce and not ever to be expected)...not with the MCU being like the standard nowadays and all that "catering to the audience" through highly superficial trend-researching by people who have no clue about what's actually important. I just now remember that DMC Devil May Cry is probably the best example for exactly what I mean and I know they've somewhat learned about their mistake, but not enough to change the whole production chain so that the marketing guys have *nothing* to decide on the game
Then DMC 5 came out
Dmc3 still the best
Man, I love this game so much, I wished they made a remake on this like RE2 instead of a HD remaster. And allowed Dante to switch styles.
There's a dmc3 remake on mobile about to come out

Fun fact, Daniel Southworth, the voice of Vergil is the Quantum Ranger from Power Rangers Time Force!
Yes!
He's fucking built like a mofo as well😂😂🔥
No wonder Vergil sounds so badass! He's used to playing badasses!
@@spencermanning9994 Quantum Power forever!
It's cute how she said her name was lady because that's what Dante called her
I always loved how the enemy-cutscenes transitioned from the music in the cutscenes to the battle theme. Especially the Bloodgoyles in mission 5!
In the cutscene where Dante catches Lady, his eyes can't be seen until after she shoots him and he lives, clearly showing that he's a demon. (34:33)
In the scene after the first fight with Vergil when he awakens, we have a clear shot showing his eyes just before he triggers for the first time. (41:17)
In the scene immediately afterwards, once he realizes his newfound power, his grinning is accompanied by clearer views of his eyes. (42:55)
During the playful skirmish with Lady, his eyes are still mostly obscured, but a few glances of them can be caught throughout, which is indicative of him slowly coming to accept his demonic traits and integrate them with his human side. (56:15)
Before the second fight with Vergil, his eyes are obscured when he's speaking more casually with him (1:13:13). But after the fight, throughout the time he's speaking to Jester, his eyes are clearly shown, unconcealing his sheer irritation and annoyance with the fool. (1:17:22 & 1:19:07)
In the cutscene after the fight with Lady and in the one immediately prior to the Dopplegänger fight, Dante's hair is in it's usual position slightly obscuring his eyes. But despite that, they can be seen clearly now, showing the inner balance he's found. (1:32:34 & 1:35:14)
And in the final fight, when Dante says "even if it means killing you"... he tilts his head up, revealing his eyes. He's accepted both sides to himself, retaining the care he has for his brother, but being able to show that demonic coldness to him when necessary. (1:55:22)
...but then when he reaches out for his brother, his hair is squarely in front of his eyes again.

Devil May Cry 3 is the best game out imo oit of the entire series. It had the perfect story and boss fights unlike Devil May Cry 4 where fight the same bosses 3 times (twice with Nero and once with Dante). I was getting fatigued from fighting the same fights over and over again in 4.

@@crazyyjon9863 ye dmc team confirmed this, its pretty obvious anyways they had a world like complexity like dmc5 but with the tight time of development they couldnt do much so they do what they could storywise is broken an boss wise as well but the gameplay is very well done, with aditions of inertia and advanced guard blocking techniques it can stand gameplay wise at least
This is the first game I stayed up all night to play. It's my favorite game. The gameplay, music, characters, and cutscenes are A1. I'm surprised how much of the game I can still quote word for word.
42:13 may be the coolest sequence I've ever seen lmao Dante is the EPITOME of resiliency !!! Also Raiden and Bayonetta totally ripped this tower scene off!!!!
As a kid, I was utterly obsessed with Vergil, so much so that I tried (and utterly failed) to somewhat copy his personality and hairstyle. All my friends liked Dante a lot more but to me Vergil was THE character in DMC3, and probably the one who made me realize my love for cold villains that are somewhat reasonable over the usually cheerful MC’s. Don’t get me wrong I love Dante, but Vergil forever has a special spot in my heart.

I know it's already been almost a year since you commented this, but I just can't help but say that at one point in time, you were as just as bad as this guy and you can't really fault him for that.
Well can't blame the dude atleast he provided the whole cutscenes for us to watch.
You know what.
Take my cookie. :o
Nah I'd rather have dante and vergil to beat the shit out of mundus and kick him straight into the human world were they do a jackpot scene reminiscent of dmc 3s except with Nero added and that's what finally kills mundus.

Playing Dmc 5's story made me realize something painfully obvious in the end cutscene of misson 7. Vergil did not just stab Dante with his rebelion, for the sake of killing him or try to. He knew that stabbing Dante with the Rebelion would awaken the demon inside of him. Like in Dmc 5, when Dante does the same in their house's remains, he awakens Sin Devil Trigger.
At least that's what i believe it is.
Makes sense

two thing i like in this game more than DMC 5 :
1. Vergil is the exact same person as dante with hair back
2. Dante and vergil are way taller in this game, makes them look more badass
I remember hearing somewhere that if you gave DMCV Dante a shave and Vergil's hair, they look pretty similar, as for how tall they are, I think it's just that Lady (and maybe Arkham too) was short at the time
