Well I mean, it teaches you how to parry pretty well (and was the only way I could beat it) so it did good. Edit: so I got farther into the game, and realized that bladewolf was just the study, monsoon was the exam, A N D S A M I S T H E F I N A L S.

The concept of cutting things is cool but pretty gruesome by nature if applied to human oponents. Getting to chop up bosses at the end in anyway you wanted was incredibly satisfying in a very free yet kinda sick way, I loved it

Platinum Games makes ridiculous and insanely fun games with stories that are lined with serious tones but doesn’t try to make the massive and complicated stories that Kojima is known for. They’re incredibly different games, But I think the MGS series needs more games like Revengeance.
Boris is underrated. He is basically a good guy who has to run a futuristic military company, while sustaining both profits and his own moral integrity. In real life people are not capable of such feats.
Personally there's a lot of thing about MGR I don't like my main issue is the parry system I mean DMC3 was released a whole generation earlier and Royal Guard is still leagues better than MGR's parry system

I think that in Metal Gear, cyborgs need at the bare minimum their brains and their spines in order to function properly. Monsoon probably couldn’t separate his head from his chest because otherwise that would split his spine in two.

Charged attack + Jack the ripper mode, the scissors are insane if you managed to get it charger up, it can annihilate all of a bosses health sometimes. Oh yeah and parrying in revengeance difficulty does like 70% of the bosses health

Sam is the most epic person out of everyone in my opinion, the man had little changed to his normal human body. But the man still destroyed people that were like full out kitted with augments. What a boss of a man.
This was my first MG game I played. Brings a tear to my eye remembering how much true fun and joy I had playing this game. If this game ever got a remaster I would not hesitate to buy and play it all over again. 😌
All these bosses has such great memorable personalities. Not just with the voice acting but especially the animations. So glad I’m playing through this.
Gonna say, 44:07 gives me the thought of a hero and villain teaming up against a bigger threat (i.e., the helicopters that are always there in the fight). Still love the video!
I still find the game's fascination with Raidens chin so weird, with Blade wolf or Armstrong he barely dodges and when he gets slapped across 10 meters of floor his chin's glowing red hot
It's honestly so cool to me that because of Raiden being right next to him in his second phase cutscene, Sundowner just commits "I'm running circles around you".
I just realized that you can technically go through the entire game not killing a single person of you don't hit their head. At 1:14 you can see that the cyborgs have a brain protective system, probably keeping the brain in a prolonged catatonic state, meaning that they can get decapitated and survive so long as the brain is undamaged. You can get through the game without actually killing anybody, excluding those in cutscenes like the Doctor in the lab, Jetstream Sam, and Senator Armstrong.
Jet stream had no cyborg enhancements except his arm, his suit is just an “armor” so he’s has no brain protection, Sam is dead, unfortunately, or else his sword wouldn’t unlock for the the Raiden vs Armstrong fight.
I absolutely love how the first boss fight is Raiden absolutely owning a Metal Gear Ray when he annihilated 15 of them with nothing but a handgun and foraged Stingers back when he was made of disgusting flesh instead of gaming mice Also, not staying in Zandatsu for as long as possible during parries is criminal just because if the music intensifying when you do
Raiden: (Literally a living weapon that surpasses metal gear as he evidently singlehandedly kills multiple mgs in the series) Everyone else: (Doesn't talk about it once)

I dont understand how they made every single boss amazing and fantastic. My personal favorite being Monsoon. Not only is that a cool name, but his design, voice, dialogue, ability, and theme are great. Khamsim is a close second for most of the same reasons too.

I think that in Metal Gear, cyborgs need at the bare minimum their brains and their spines in order to function properly. Monsoon probably couldn’t separate his head from his chest because otherwise that would split his spine in two.

Charged attack + Jack the ripper mode, the scissors are insane if you managed to get it charger up, it can annihilate all of a bosses health sometimes. Oh yeah and parrying in revengeance difficulty does like 70% of the bosses health

I still find the game's fascination with Raidens chin so weird, with Blade wolf or Armstrong he barely dodges and when he gets slapped across 10 meters of floor his chin's glowing red hot

The boss fights are very cinematic and very fun to play. And if it isn't the boss fights that get me, it's the soundtrack that goes with it.

I just realized that you can technically go through the entire game not killing a single person of you don't hit their head. At 1:14 you can see that the cyborgs have a brain protective system, probably keeping the brain in a prolonged catatonic state, meaning that they can get decapitated and survive so long as the brain is undamaged. You can get through the game without actually killing anybody, excluding those in cutscenes like the Doctor in the lab, Jetstream Sam, and Senator Armstrong.
Jet stream had no cyborg enhancements except his arm, his suit is just an “armor” so he’s has no brain protection, Sam is dead, unfortunately, or else his sword wouldn’t unlock for the the Raiden vs Armstrong fight.

I dont understand how they made every single boss amazing and fantastic. My personal favorite being Monsoon. Not only is that a cool name, but his design, voice, dialogue, ability, and theme are great. Khamsim is a close second for most of the same reasons too.
