Hate his death or not, Hanzo has a phenomenal arc in this timeline. He goes from a vengeful demon to a masterful teacher who passes on his legacy to his former self (and the voice of his younger self is awesome btw) And honestly, this game is significantly better than MK1 (which I just bought last week) 🙄

It was also quite heartwarming when past Scorpion saw the Fire Garden again :)

Hanzo gave himself (literally himself) an opportunity to see the truth and realize that he could be free and not have to stress the thought his wife and child, what would’ve probably happened was Kronika would’ve brought them back and they would’ve died AGAIN, very similar to the original timeline when the elder gods brought back the shirai ryu as hellspawn demons. I’m kinda also glad him or Sub-Zero wasn’t in the aftermath ending because I didn’t want to see them get their souls taken 💀.

This is a thousand times better than it has any right to be. That is some profoundly thought provoking lore and endings, just holy crap, and as a narrative experience this story is just really damn good. The dialog is almost never cringe or stupid, and that's really saying something given its scope and length. I am damn impressed.
I love that everyone else's arcade ending has them altering as aspect of their lives, saving someone from dying, making themselves the ruler of everything, meanwhile Jax just gets rid of slavery altogether. What a king.

Hopefully he also was able to keep the African tribes and nations from killing each other as has been constant throughout history. Though, to be fair, that is true everywhere. For me the best was Jaqui's ending where she selflessly gave up her own life to make her dad's better. It is heart-rending and inspirational. That is a hero.

I appreciate Erron Black's choice with the hour glass. I know it at first seems irresponsible of him to leave time as twisted as it is, but I feel like he did the most responsible thing possible. Not only did he not appoint himself as a powerful leader or make things to his advantage or go crazy with power, he made sure NO ONE else ever could. He didnt play god even though he very much couldve become one. Erron forever has my heart as a severely underrated character
Sometimes we don't need any herding or any change just because we are mad like children. He proved kronika was just the biggest sore loser who kept resetting timelines when it wasn't going her way. It's why I respect erron out of all the choices everyone else they all make, because he lives as he had done, in the moment.
Watching this back again, I realize how sad Jacqui Briggs's ending actually is. She gave up her existence for Jax, who will never even find out such a thing happened, true love.

I’m absolutely terrible at fighting games. But I do love watching the story modes for them. Netherealm studios are masters at building a large sprawling story incorporating so many characters. Hopefully MK1 ends up being another great story.

This is a thousand times better than it has any right to be. That is some profoundly thought provoking lore and endings, just holy crap, and as a narrative experience this story is just really damn good. The dialog is almost never cringe or stupid, and that's really saying something given its scope and length. I am damn impressed.

Jax's ending was a good one. Hopefully he also was able to keep the African tribes and nations from killing each other as has been constant throughout history. Though, to be fair, that is true everywhere.
For me the best was Jaqui's ending where she selflessly gave up her own life to make her dad's better. It is heart-rending and inspirational. That is a hero.

I appreciate Erron Black's choice with the hour glass. I know it at first seems irresponsible of him to leave time as twisted as it is, but I feel like he did the most responsible thing possible. Not only did he not appoint himself as a powerful leader or make things to his advantage or go crazy with power, he made sure NO ONE else ever could. He didnt play god even though he very much couldve become one. Erron forever has my heart as a severely underrated character

I’m absolutely terrible at fighting games. But I do love watching the story modes for them. Netherealm studios are masters at building a large sprawling story incorporating so many characters. Hopefully MK1 ends up being another great story.
