- Most common question I get is why Monster 821 and especially why 821 vs 1200 or 1200s. Listen to me ramble for eleven and a half minutes trying to answer that.
In my opinion it's almost impossible to answer such question because it is very personal and highly dependent on your taste, budgest etc.

the most importan thing when buying bike is that when you look at it, you get excited, it must put a smile in your face, and make you want to ride it, the price doesn't matter it could be 100 bucks bike or 25000, the thing is that you have to feel happy with it!!!!!
I agree. Just recently I saw some dude that ended up selling his 821 because he got it for the wrong reasons. Probably because someone talked him into it.

Yes. You're so right. Buy the bike you want. Do not listen too much on others opinions. I did and still regret it.
I used to live and work in Bangkok. I love Ducati Monsters and Cafe Racers. So i was planning to buy a M796 and turn it into a cafe racer. I already had the picture in mind and was searching for the right project. Many peoples then recommended me to better buy a M900. It's classic and because the M796 would have to much plastic to work on it. So i found one, bought it and started to work on it. At that time i wasn't aware that the M900 is a import bike and there are almost no spare parts available in Thailand. The bike is old and needed quite a bit work.
Now 2 years later and i really love the bike, but i'm still fixing upcoming problems. Meanwhile i already spent more money on the bike then it is worth and more money then i had payed for a brand new M796.
I really love the M900 and i think i became too much attached to it. Realising that i'm now trying to fix the last problems on the gearbox and a new speedo and get rid of the bike asap. Even i'm not getting all the money back i had to invest.
Now i'm back to my original plan to buy a M796. And again friends are telling me to better buy the M821. But I test rode the M821 already twice and i still had more fun on a rented M796. It's so simple, air cooled and i just love the look.
Go for it. Get what you want. You don't do that for your friends. It's your choice, your ride.

Nearly same story as yours.. i have a 600 suzuki bandit, bought it 4 years ago for about 1.700€ and now i'm going to purchase a bike wich nearly costs 6 times more.. and i tested the 1200 s too.. well great bike.. but do i need it? no..
A friend said to me: "why don't you buy a yamaha mt09 for 3000-4000 less?"
He got the mt09.. now he changed so much and spend lots of money to it to make it fit his expectations..
Finaly yesterday he said: "I would've made a better deal by getting a 821.." now he loves it xD
But I have to admit.. I spend about 11.000€ to it.. and i don't feel good about spending that much money for a bike.. especially because i still ride a shitty 1996 bandit for now... but it feels like i gonna get my dream bike... and i can't describe this feeling.. it's just wonderful and it feels right... so.. fuck it.. i'll buy one.. i'll buy MINE =D

It's very important to buy what you like and enjoy. At the end of the day it's your hard earn cash. I haven't bought a bike for CCs since high school. My main focus when I'm purchasing a bike is to make sure it handles well in the corners and very classy looking. I'm not really into SuperSport bikes because they look like a dime a dozen. I'm all about evoking emotion and showing personality. My bike is an extension of my life style. Plus it's plenty fast! One smart move I like to do when I'm investing in anything, I always buy below my means. It's a very important lesson that was taught to me by my dad and big brother. Good vid man!

+Ho Stile (Pattaya, Thailand) it will be very different than Japanese bike. During break-in it will shake but most of it will go away. Never ride it below 4k rpm. It will feel like shit. It loves to rev up. Just wait until the first time when you wind it up past 6k! You might poop your pants a little bit.

+Christian Schneidt Sorry, I don't have any experience with it. It's priced way higher than I would pay for a slip-on exhaust. Seems like that's what everyone gets so it shouldn't to hard to find someone with one.
I really enjoyed your review man. You said what most people don't say when they "review" a bike...Go with your gut and heart. A 1000cc fairing laden bike may give person A some fluttering feeling in his heart, but that would never appeal to person B. I really liked your take about taking people's reviews with a grain of salt. Really, the answer is to get out there and ride some bikes, whatever leaves you with the biggest smile on your face at the end of it, that's your answer.

You are so right about some random dude telling you what is what. Worst thing are hardcore sport bike riders that complain about suspension not being up to par then torturing the bike instead of focusing on the target buyers.
I also bought the 1200 non-S. I commute on my motorcycle (2 x 20km per day). I'm 27 years old.
I had a Yamaha R6, kawasaki z750, monster 696 and now the monster 1200. Mostly I have two bikes at the same time, now only the M1200.
Everyday, I commute, and in the summer I like to do a trackday or two. Did trackdays with my R6 and with my z750 and had a blast with both bikes. Ofcourse I was faster on the R6, but both were equally fun.
I ride about 15000km per year.
When I rode the 821, I expected more torque. I commute partly highway and I wanted a bike that just would GO when I opened the throttle in sixth gear. I also expected more top-end, for me it felt like a diesel-engine. Kinda numb after 8k, where one would expect an extra push.
I did testride a Ducati 1098 and the insane torque and power delivery made me crave that in my next bike. But that 1098 was over the top insane-in-the-membrane.
The 1200 really opens its lungs up after 6k and just gets a huge powerbang. I love it, and it took me a long time to get used to it. Frankly, it has too much power. You can't WOT it in 1st gear. Even in 2nd gear at 100km/h you can just pull the wheel over your head if you're not carefull. So yeah, it's alot of power, and frankly too much for the road. The 1200 really bit me in the ass alot in the beginning.
But I like the low end torque, like really low-end. I like the single-sided swingarm. I like the colour display and the fact that you can switch between riding modes on-the-fly. I also wanted the radial mount brakepump. I like the extra top-end power over the 821 when you're hauling ass.
The 1200 is scary though. Exitting a corner, wheel breaking out, finding grip and then pulling a sidewayswheelie... You kinda leave some skidmarks in your pants the first few times. It's got that "battle with the beast" thing, which is fun and scary at the same time.
The extra money for the S wasn't worth it for me. On the street, you're never gonna notice the difference. 10 extra HP? What for? Ohlins, are you really gonna notice it on the street? No. Spending that extra 3k for those two trackays a year, is it going to make me have more fun? No, I'd rather buy an old R6 for 3k and just haul ass with that on the track instead of a 15k bike.
I really like how you say that everyone has his own stuff he looks for in a bike. If I would not be commuting, I'd probably have gone for the 821 aswell tbh.
+Zwerfdude For me 821 is a giant overkill. I mean its 0-6 time is 3.6 seconds! When will I ever need that on the street. But then again anything other than scooters and low-end cars is an overkill. Glad you're having fun with it man. The noise these bikes make is worth the money haha.

I consieder Monster 821 as my new motorcycle. I have seen a number of Monster's reviews on youtube but none of them where as helpful as your video. You're goddamn right. In such consumer society we need to buy things only if they make us happy. Simple and true. 5!

Thanks for the video. I have a big dilemma which I can't solve on my own since test drives from local dealerships are not available from where I come from. In a nutshell from what I read the best motorbike for me (My height, my type of rides, our roads, cruising etc) is the Triumph street twin / cup however I don't realy like the style of this bike and certainly love the monster 821 looks and power when you need it. My question here for you is, Can the monster 821 handle cruising speeds (aprox 60 to 80km) and getting caught up in traffic every now an then or is just a No No from your point of view?
This bike is ridiculously easy to ride. It does like to go fast but it definitely is rideable in the city which is most of my riding. It gets rather warm in summer if you're stuck in traffic but most bikes do anyway.
I am only speaking for myself here but I would never listen to anyone that would tell me which bike I need to buy. I am spending my own hard-earned money so I am buying whatever the hell I want. That's all I can say.
What's your thoughts on the reliability and cost for repairs & maintenance for the 821? I personally enjoy the looks, handling, and feel of the 821 and other similar nakeds (street triple R & brutale 800). I'm just concerned about higher costs to maintain a European bike vs Japanese.
+Jam PastOne Can't talk too much about reliability because I've only owned this bike since April. It's a new model for Ducati as well so not much data is out there yet. As anything new and first year model, it's going to have certain issues that will get fixed down the line. Fortunately for me, I have not had any issues so far.
Maintenance on these new models is much better than previous models. Only thing I had to so far is change oil during break-in period at 600 miles. Next major maintenance is at 18,000 miles and even then it's just timing belts and valve clearance check and possible adjustment. Now, I work on all of my vehicles so I don't depend on the dealer for this stuff so it's just cost of parts for me. It's not hard to learn how to do most of the maintenance yourself not because you will save money but you will learn how things work and be proud of yourself ;)
If you look at advice from CLUTCH1st below, you'll see him saying that you should buy within your means. Meaning don't spend all of your money to buy the bike but not have anything left over for other things. I totally agree with that! I don't think this bike will cost you more to own than any other "comparable" Japanese bike.

I realize this an old video, but do you still have the bike and what is your opinion of it now? Has it met your expectations? Any words of wisdom about Ducati Monsters? If you were to buy another naked bike and had the same amount to spend, would it be the same bike? Thanks for the video and sometimes you just have to ramble on. have you tried the 959 Panigale? or thought about it? im riding fz07, thinking of monster 821, 959 Panigale, mt10 or aprailia for my next bike! ( Love your vid btw! also just subscribed it )
While I really like and admire Panigale, that's not a motorcycle for me or any other 'sport' bike for that matter so I can't really comment on those.
Dude thanks for your vids i recently stumbled upon the 821 and fell in love with it started saving for it. I want to ask though how is the reliability what problems dis you run into (if any)
So far nothing major with mine. From what I've heard, only thing others are having issues with is some stuff with throttle position sensor which is covered by Ducati. I did develop an oil leak through my cylinder bolts but that seems to be a design flaw in a lot of Ducati's, not just 821. I can't say anything bad about the bike itself but one common things I've seen and experienced myself is warranty work can take embarrassingly long time. My bike has been at the shop for over 6 weeks now! For a small oil leak! Now, this is not the greatest dealership in the world but half the problem is Ducati themselves. I should have just done it myself.

At the time this video was shot, I had the little cheap plastic ones that came with the bike. I don't have anything special on now either. Just what my cheap mirrors came with.
Hi! Thanks for the lovely review! Will you recommend this bike as a first bike? I have already pass my safety test in Bulgaria and I have a full license but don't want to spend money and time for 300cc class and outgrow it after 6 months. I’m 34 mature and not a wild head. I know that in urban mode the power is 75 HP but how is the torque….does it reduce the torque as well…my fear is that the bike has a lot torque and could catch me off guard as a new rider. Is it good at low speeds or the throttle is jerky? I think if I keep it in Urban for several months I will be OK and at later stage could proceed with Touring. Would you lease to share your two cents on the subject. Thanks in advance.
Hey man! I am not going to either recommend or not recommend it since that would not be fair to you since I don't know you and everyone is different so my recommendation might be moot. But that being said, I think the bike is manageable, especially if you start out in Urban mode to get used to it. Urban mode is pretty tame and that's what I did when I got mine - rode it that way for couple of months and then used Touring. And to tell you the truth, I stay in Touring 90% of the time. I don't think Sport offers anything at lower speeds and I am rarely close to triple digits so it makes no sense to have it on.
Bike itself is really easy to ride in the sense that it is very light at speed and you can easily maneuver it. One thing to keep an eye is that twitchy throttle! Especially while the bike is still new. It caught me off guard couple of times but luckily that only happens at low speeds, like when you are taking off. I know one time it was Sport mode but not sure that other time.
I think if you just take your time and learn the bike slowly, you will be just fine, but that's just my opinion. Good luck with whatever you end up with :)

I LOVE my 821! My ego was never big enough to justify the 1200 and Ohlins suspension for the street is a bit overkill... plus who can argue 46mpg on something That can reach 60 mph in the mid 3 second range.
+Buhgaboo No kidding! This bike is plenty fast. Someone asked me the other day in traffic how fast the bike is ... i said "plenty!".
I heard that the Monster 821 is using the same engine and electrical system as Hypermotard 821. And It has many problems with the electrical system that happened to Snowcat's hypermotard. Do you have any trouble with your bike's electrical system?
So far only issue I had was oil leak on couple of engine bolts. Only other issue that I've seen that has happened to several people is that their throttle position sensor has failed but in all cases it was replaced by Ducati.

How good is the bike (i mean response from the bike and rider condition) if ridden more than 5-600 kilometers a day?? Or should I be looking for bonnies or harleys??
+Siddhartha Shukla I think that would be very dependent on the person. I know personally, after about an hour, my ass gets to be pretty sore and it if it windy out, you fatigue even faster. Keep in mind that this is a naked bike so if you are on the highway a lot, long distance might not be for you. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are plenty of Monster riders that take cross-country trips. I've seen a lot of guys complaining about handle bar shake and making their hands numb. I have not experienced that though.
As far as which bike you should get, that is also very personal, especially when you are comparing M821 with a Bonneville or Harley. Those are all completely different beasts. Never had either and I would ride a Bonneville just for the retro looks but Harley is something that doesn't even enter my mind.
Sorry, that's not much of an answer but just like I said in the video, don't listen to some random dudes ... go sit on the bike and see what fits you ;)

+Charles Lockmiller Hey man, there is a dealer here in Lexington called Lexington Motorsports but I have not been impressed by them at all. Then again I've never been impressed with any dealership, car or motorcycle. Nothing really that bad happened but they just had no knowledge about M821 and just seemed so disinterested about the whole process. I had to wait 2 hours just to sign the papers and when I was picking up the bike I had to wait another 2-3 hours. Their pricing was spot on with anywhere around here but I did manage to get the out the door price down quite a bit.
I've never been to one in Louisville called Commonwealth Motorcycles but i've heard (online) that it is much better. Sorry that's all I have to offer.

hey I also own a 821. I have question I don't know if you can help me with this. when you let go of the handle bars in gear or neutral and you're going in a straight line does the bike lean to the right? I bought my brand new and I've had this issue. thanks

Today I have a Kawasaki Z750. I starting to feel the bike a bit boring and "slow" like you have to rev it for something to happen.
I use to drive it in 4th gear, now I'm using 3rd or second gear on curvy roads just to get that instant throttle response. I have the feeling (with out trying the 821) This has the right touch and motor style I want in a bike.
I think that's just you getting used to the power. I'm the same way with everything. At first it's fast and now it's slow. Although, 821 in Sport mode is still pretty brutal for me.
If you're interested, find a demo day or a dealer that has demo units so you can test it out. This is definitely not a bike for everyone. But the first time you wind it up and you hear that deep noise coming out the exhaust, you'll be hooked.
I will try one tomorrow. I think the Competition Werkes slip-on exhaust sounds great (on youtube). It sounds brutal and with an attitude with that 2 cylinders V-twin. My bike sounds too civilized and just boring with 4 cylinders.
I'm currently considering this bike and the only downside I've heard of is heat. How's the heat from the pipes on the right? Does it ever bother you?
Right side doesn't bother me that much but on the left side, on a really hot day when stuck in traffic, can be pretty brutal. By all means, it's not a deal breaker or anything though.

The reason I ended up with my 1200S was because I got a crazy good deal on it but more importantly I absolutely love it. Had 411 miles on it and I ended up spending a little over 13k for it. I wanted to originally get the 796 but I think the biggest factor of be going with the 1200S instead was the service interval. 7500 for Valve Inspection or 18000? I am 40+ and this was my first bike. I really don't care what people say when they find out that this is my first bike and I've only ridden since February. Could I have went with something else? Sure. But I would not been as happy as I am now. Right now I would be thinking I should have went with what I felt was right. Was I scared when I rode the bike from the Dealership during rush hour on I-5 in the middle of Tacoma? Holy shit yeah. It was a close call. I was seriously considering the 821 as well but when this deal came across the showroom floor I said HELL YEAH. We all have our reasons to get what we get and they may be crazy to other, but guess what? Its your decision not theirs. As always I love the videos, keep it up and thanks for letting me post my 2 cents.

I don't like fanboys and specs-jockeys but sad reality is that a lot of people that do have certain weight on TH-cam and in forums are not being responsible with it and may be giving a bad advice to others.
That's a really good point about service intervals in the new generation of Ducati's! Totally for got about it. Thanks for pointing that out. But yea there is no major service until 18,000 miles which calls for valves and timing belts. For me that's going to be a long while.

Nice review man! I am seriously considering this model. Although you mentioned in reply below that heat is not issue to you. Can you please be a bit more specific in terms of how you experience the heat. Is it like a little, or will an hour in hot city traffic actually burn or damage your inner thigh/leg? (In jeans) My fear is that a short dealer test ride might not expose this issue. Thanks in advance!
+Robert van de Velde It depends on how hot it is where you live and how much you sit in traffic. When it's anywhere above 80 degrees, getting stuck in traffic can be pretty hot. It's not to the point where it will actually burn the skin but depending on what kind of pants you wear, it can hurt somewhat. But this is to be expected with any bike and traffic.
If you take it for a test drive. Ride for about 5 minutes or so to warm the bike up then stop and sit for few minutes until engine temp gets to 217 and fan kicks in. It should take no time to get that hot when idling. That should give you an idea.

But it can be those short rides with just jeans and moto jacket in summer city traffic that can be pretty hot. I live in netherlands so no extreme temperatures here, but on holiday trips in busy city traffic in let's say Paris or Barcelona, I now know what to expect.

Oh hell yes it did. Especially in the summer, when sitting at the light. Thats normal for these. Feels good on cold days though.
@@HoldFastFilms Was it just the leg though? or was it hot under the seat, too? I have an 899 Panigale and am thinking of moving to one of these to escape the heat. So I'm trying to judge how much better the monster would be for that.
Love your videos. Just bought a 2015 821. My first European and naked bike . It runs fine but has a broken tube from this part in front of the radiator. Do you know what it is called?
I have been told that it can be taken out completely and won't effect the performance of the bike. Is that true?
Sorry I'm not sure i know what you're talking about. The bike should still be under warranty, why not take it to the dealer to take a look. If you can post a photo of it that would be helpful.

Subhan Khan Are you talking about the square box? If so that's charcoal canister and it is only used for emissions in California. You can remove it and it will have no effects on the performance of the bike. Keep in mind that one of the hoses that go from gas tank to it is a vacuum hose so that one has to be plugged to maintain vacuum and the other can be extended under the engine where other drain hoses are. There are threads on forums on how to do that. Just google "charcoal canister removal ducati monster".
I chose the 821 because to me it has the best combo of looks, power & agility. The 1200S felt a bit clumsy and heavy to me.

Daniel Toto Try adjusting your clutch cable a little bit at a time and see if that helps. They are known to be difficult though. I found out that if you do it slowly with steady pressure, especially if you are still rolling, you wont have problems. Hope that helps.

I've had my 2016 for 4 yrs. I ride about 300 days a yr. I've only had to change oil, brakes, chain, tires and 1 30,000 km valve adjustment. It's still just as much fun as the day I got it

Acceleration: It's way way way more than I will ever need - 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. That's damn fast for daily use bike.
Reliability: I have not had any issues so far (knocks on wood).
City riding: I've seen others bitch about how hard it is to ride in traffic but I don't find that to be a problem. You have Urban mode that helps with that but I never use it. I stay in Touring mode which gives me best of both worlds.
If you are coming from Japanese bikes, it will take some time to get used to at low speeds because you can't let RPM's drop below 4K RPM. It will share like a freaking Harley lol. Otherwise it's super happy to be ridden and it wants to go!
In the end, it really depends what you are after, man.
Cheers man I see. I'm coming from japanese bike Ninja 800. It's engine is really smooth you can ride in 6th gear at 20km/h acceleration is kind of 3.3 3.4 from 0 to 100km/h (60mph). I assumes with a twin engine the acceleration should me much more important. But that 821 seems amazing. Sound, sexy, the torque!
In cities I assume you have to play with the clutch under 4RPM right? what about the warm coming from the right side?
T4R' M0 Yea, you have to play with the clutch some but it's not really a problem. I was going to mention heat but decided not to because all bikes get hot.
I do see some people complaining about heat on the right side but that doesn't bother me that much. For me it's much worse on the left. I'm kind of used to it.
For the right side, you can wrap the pipe behind the heat shield. Have not tried it but heard good results. Not sure what you can do about left side.
Honestly, all that said, the way the bike rides, sounds and looks, is way more important. Seriously, that sound is a killer. I've never heard a stock exhaust that sounded that good!

I am planning for a monster 821 this is going to be my first bike ... how's it for a first bike ?
I think it should be OK as long as you respect the bike and take it easy until you are comfortable. Riding modes will definitely help with that. Start in Urban mode then move to Touring. I rarely use Sport and only when I am on open roads with no traffic.
But definitely know your limits and don't push it. This is a very fast bike and can get you in a lot of trouble if you are not careful but if you take it easy, it is a easy bike to ride. It is very nimble and light at speed.

Yes it is. Removed stock mirrors and inverted the clamps for cleaner look.
Not because I own one but it has a strong torque, 5k and is faultless, regarding city ride I would say it is not for it, but country side lanes or motorways.

How do you feel about this being a first real street bike? Ive always digged Monster's and it looks sweet in White and Red. I've ridden dirt bikes for some time.
+rubioedwin80 It's a manageable bike for sure. Sport mode can be a bit twitchy and that throttle can go nuts on ya if you're not used to it. It did to me couple of times.
Other than that, bike is pretty nimble, pulls quick and stops fast! Got to test that few times. I braked so hard one time, it hurt my wrist BUT I'll take that over slamming into a truck. Brakes didn't even lock up.
It's not a smooth running bike, if that matters to you. You have to keep it over 4000 RPM if you want it to be smooth at all. Any less than that and it will let you know for sure.
It's all subjective though.

rubioedwin80 It really depends on what you want to do, how much money you are willing to spend etc.
While you can afford to buy something, you have to take cost of maintenance in consideration. While, 2015 and above have a lot better maintenance intervals and should be a lot more reliable than older models, they will still cost a lot more to maintain then you average motorcycle, especially if you rely on the dealer to work on it. Even if you do all of your own work, parts can be hard to come by and they are not cheap.
Also, depending on your region, age etc insurance is going to be a lot higher.

+AllegedlySpiffy Honestly, I know nothing about EVO or 796 so can't comment but I can say that the new platform has way better reliability and extended service intervals. You might not care about that but it is something to consider.

I’d ridden the 696 and 797 and BEFORE the 821 came out and thought Ducati needed an 800+ in the line up instead of jumping right up to 11/1200. Rode the 821 the year it came out and was impressed; it was “on my list” and for a few years I thought the 821 was the best Monster to have. But MAAAAAAAAN I rode that damn 1100s (a 2010) and was SOLD but didn’t like the price the dealer was asking for! I found an 09 1100 with medium/low miles and a Leo Vince carbon exhaust on CL a month ago, forked over some cash, and I’ve been grinning ear to ear ever since!
So, yeh man, FUCK THE HATERS! Buy what YOU like and tell anyone that questions your decision to “keep on movin’!”

I'd like to get this bike, but I know I'll push my limits (pricing) considering I'm 16. I know insurance is gonna fuck me over. It just seems that there's not many bikes that look nice while also remaining half framed. I'm getting my license in 6 months so I got time to think about it. Has anybody seen this go for under 4,000 cause I haven't.
+Ryan Kruger This is $11,000+ bike that's barely been around for 2 years so you will definitely not going to find one anywhere near what your budget is. And you're right, insurance will be really high at 16 with this bike. If you are set on having a Monster, you should be able to find older one for that money. Keep in mind that older Ducati's (prior to 2014/2015) have very short maintenance intervals so if you don't plan on working on that stuff yourself, it can get very expensive. These bikes are expensive and expensive to own. If you can barely afford to buy the bike, I'd suggest you don't know because you will not have the money to maintain it.
Oh, I'm well aware of the expenses. I am open to older models though. Are you saying older models are harder to maintain? If I happen to not afford it, do you suggest any models that have the sport look but also contain the naked or half naked style?
Ryan Kruger what he was saying was the intervals of maintenance for older model will be more often compared to the new models. With your budget i would sudgest fz07 or fz09 the are prety good and not expensive to maintain.
Ryan Kruger maybe you can look for the 797 instead of the 821. It has the same motor of the scrambler and the looks of the 821, plenty powerful and fast.
Man I like Ducatis. But for 12 grand I keep thinking of all the other stuff on the market from Japan for the same price and I just shake my head.
I guess if I went with a Duc I'd be most interested in the new 797 Monster. It's still that sweet lumpy 803cc bulletproof motor, full of character and better sounds than any of the newer liquid cooled machines. I'm sure it would be "affordable."
Otherwise I'll buy a FZ-09, Z900, GSX-S750, GSX-S1000, Bandit 1250S, Ninja 1000 for the price of (or significantly less) the 821.
It's all good man. That was the whole point of this video - buy what you can and what interests you, not something that someone else tells you to buy. I was just explaining why I got 821 and definitely wasn't making a point why someone else should buy one.
Yeah I understand. Most motorcycles these days when considered in isolation are dozens of ways better than anything that existed 20 years ago. It's the competition in the pricing markets that makes a choice a bit more difficult.
