not sure what you are on about but this is totally fine for beginners, you can use rain mode for a while if you want to get used to it, its not that heavy and it has a safety pack (abs and traction control) not to mention the ease of a slipper clutch and riding modes which you can adjust. I rather have someone learn on the 821 than a 400 from 1998...no matter what tho, in the end of the day the rider is the one who is twisting the throttle and not the bike.

True I have zero riding experience besides the msf course and rented a 2021 mt09 and the Ducati monster 821 is not as torquey but it’s enough but not too much to accidentally wheelie the bike at full throttle but man the parts are expensive af I’m 24 with a 2020 mustang Gt and 2016 Ducati monster 821 my lord I need help 😂

I agree. I know three guys who made the mistake of buying a too big or powerful first bike. One bought a big Ninja, rode it once and parked it for eternity. Told me it scared him witless. A skinny man of fifty got a V2 Guzzi. He dropped it on gravel and broke his back tryin to pick it up. A short fat fellow got an Aprilia Tuono. A couple of rides, and he sold it, happy to be alive.

I started on this bike yes it’s torquie but it’s manageable when it comes to weight it’s not much and it become pretty much weightless once you start riding

I don’t know where you live but I’d disagree here in the UK.
There are so many 821s for sale that have been dropped by new riders.
You’re an exception not the norm, I’m glad you are very comfortable with the bike and it’s a lovely bike, but it’s too much bike for most beginners.

I have been riding ktm duke 200 for almost 5 years .. I'm planning to pick 821 (2017) .. do you think its a good idea ?

nice, also check the competition ..make sure you ride a few back to back - the 821 is a very capable bike and although subjective i find them beautiful. Maintenance intervals have improved a lot as well but keep in mind there is the desmo service every 30k kms which will cost you, if the one you are looking at is close to the 30k make sure you negotiate the price.. the 2017 models are still "cheaper" than the new ones and they still provide you with some quality materials but (if i remember correctly) no adjustment on the fork's suspension (although the 2015 stripe had it) and the rear suspension is also very basic although there is a bit of adjustment there... anyway enjoy and stay safe

Great video thanks for the info. I'm curious if weight and turning wasnt a concern would this and since it has different modes to restrict the power and increase the traction. Would that make an acceptable bike for beginners or still start with something smaller? Thanks again

Спустя 20 лет как я немного катал на Днепре, я купил себе дукати монстр 1200, по моему мнению пойдет и первосезоннику

Did you get your bike diagnosed regarding the random shut offs while in gear?
