    Great Video!
    I got my Monster one month ago.
    Good to see there are vloggers like you, uploading these kind of videos.
    I hope you can help me with another "problem" as well (maybe)
    My Ducati dealer is far away and I don't want to ride there for this simple question:
    I know I can adjust the seat.. But i forgot to ask them how.. Could you help me out?
    I found the distance bricks under my seat and removed them and changed the position of the front pin to the lower position but the seat has to be bend extremely to fit the locking mechanism if I just so this.. That can't be right I think..
    I hope you could help me..
    Greetings from Germany ✌🏻️
    And thank you!

      +Pleumel There are little plastic pieces up front on each side that you have to remove in order to lower the seat. They are just help by couple of screws. Once you look, you'll see what I mean. Otherwise, I can take a photo or two.
      How is weather in Germany? Warm enough yet to ride? Thanks for kinds words and watching!

    According to the user manual, the bike should be placed on the side stand. But still a great video 👍

      +Ducati NYC Vlog I just washed it a little bit after I made a huge mess with chain cleaning. I don't know what's up with that but by the time I am done with the chain there is a huge mess everywhere.

    So glad I came across this... While cleaning my chain on my 821, I noticed more slack then normal. Do I measure the distance while holding down the chain or while its at rest? Thanks so much for posting this... Very helpful.

    • @HoldFastFilms
      @HoldFastFilms  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure if you have user manual but there is link to it in video description that explains what you need to do - but you are supposed to push down on the chain, release it then measure.

    Very helpful. Thank you. A couple of questions: In this video, it looks like the chain is a little tight. Does turning the adjuster bolt clockwise loosen the chain (it looks like it moves the axle toward the center of the bike)? Also, I've seen a couple of other videos where they put a screwdriver between the chain and the sprocket before tightening; I'm assuming this isn't necessary on this type of adjuster because there is no locking bolt. Finally, I have a 2022 Ducati Scrambler Icon, and I believe the rear axle nut is 30mm. Can anyone confirm? Thanks again!

  • @irurod4135
    @irurod4135 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hello, I have a 2022 scrambler 1100 and the system is the same as your motorcycle. Once the chain tension has been adjusted and the central nut tightened, I don't know how to tighten the side adjustment screws to 10 Nw as the manual says. In your video you have not tightened them at the end. What is done with them, are they left free?
    Thx!

  • @rabalabab7505
    @rabalabab7505 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Doesn`t it have to be meassured while on the side stand? Else it might be too tight.

  • @j.g836
    @j.g836 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    after adjusting the tension of my chain there is a big hard point when I turn the chain you think it is the chain kit which is dead or there is another problem

    I bought bunch of wrench and socket home, just after watched your video.😂😂😂, btw, is it just any normal 36mm 12 point socket can do for 821 rear wheel? its really hard to find that one.

    Measurements need to be made on the side stand, otherwise no weight on the swinging arm.

    • @HoldFastFilms

      It is a very nice bike but I usually refrain from recommending things like this because it is a very personal things and a large investment. What I think is good might be completely different from your point of view. I can say that I have not a single regret buying it!

    • @esfastes
      @esfastes 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hans Koothrappali I saw this in the manual too. It doesn’t make much sense to torque the adjuster screws. I don’t understand why they say that.

  • @Asgardsrei

    In my German manual from the 2016 model it said 28-30mm. Weird!! I set it to around 29mm. Took me ages btw.

    • @Tim_Nilsson

    • @markwith140
      @markwith140 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ducatisti the UK model has the same description in the manual. I have been trying to figure out what it means, does it mean a defection of between 28 and 30 mm?

    • @esfastes
      @esfastes 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My English manual for 2019 says 28-30 mm, it’s probably different for different years.

    • @esfastes
      @esfastes 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark With The manual says to press down on the chain and then release and take the measurement. So not really a deflection of 30mm
