I see some comments on the reliability of the ducati. My 821 dark has 25,000 miles on it and only had 1 issue since purchasing new 2 years ago and it was a throttle sensor , other than that I am happy with my monster..
I've owned three Ducatis. My St2 had issues, but since about 2004 things have been going up and up and now I don't give reliability any thought. They're superb and - after dumping my Triumph and enjoying but moving on my Guzzi Griso - I'm back to Ducatis for good. People just keep repeating this over and over. It's old now.
"On a daily basis I need something more reliable... hence why I bought a Ducati Monster" - that's probably the first time that sentence was ever formulated.
nice bike, ducati's are much more reliable than people think. have a look at rexxer for a reflash of the ecu and a remap..they told me they can program the ecu to fit to the bike's set up (air-filter, exhaust valve cancellation, exhaust..) might worth it. The termignoni double exhaust is also a solution (maybe more expensive) but it comes with the up-map and its done in 10 min without messing with the ecu. Hope this helps
Your beard has shrunk. Did I hear you right: you wanted a reliable bike for use on a daily basis and you've bought a Ducati? Maybe I'm out of date and they are. Sounds good with the stock price.
As far as stock exhaust on the 821, my 16- 821 dark is the best sounding stock exhaust just huge and ugly to look at...go with the werkes exhaust and save money over the termignoni...
@1066Rider I have the 1200. Stock exhaust sounds great, imo, and is damn near loud enough. Aftermarket + tune is about 1k after all said and done. I can find bettter places to put that kind of money.
@1066Rider Depends if you wanna do it right. Tune requires a power commander + shop time. I also have a warranty and don't want to deal with them trying to deny claims because of aftermarket. Pain in the ass.
In the UK is it a mudguards or a fender? Here in OZ we say mudguards due to our early links with the UK and fenders is used only when talking to Americans or if the subject is guitars 🎸. Has the UK changed to merikcan now?
Youth and social media means we all interchange words like fender/mudguard and say "shedule" instead if "Skedule". Welcome to the world of International English and pretty much anyone under 40.
Anyone tell me what the m.o.t rules are for straight through pipes (can it fail on loudness ) building an xs 650 chop myself an just wondering what the crack is on this one - do i need a set of silencers ready for the m.o.t ?

I used the buffler on my Werkes but I think it was to loud. I removed mine and continued with the stock.

The jury is out on the wrap. Sounds well for a standard bike though.
Best sounding stock motorcycle
I tried to put SC-Project on mine also and I had the same problem has you. I think Termignoni works better with Ducati and sounds nice...
Jimbo, you have to install the Healtech Servo Buddy to turn-off the FI error with SC Project pipe (or any aftermarket pipe)
im from the philippines i wish someday i have this one ducati monster 821
Very nice look
He wanted something reliable ... So he got a Ducati
Yup. It's not 1985 you know. ...Remember that Audi own Ducati these days.
Bike Shed Motorcycle Club Just messing with you guys

Hi! What's the front turn indicators ??
Where to buy those turn signals? Can you share the brand? Thanks! Awesome Ducati! :)
Jorge Sousa they’re from New Rage Cycles in New York.

Bike Shed Motorcycle Club true nuff!
It's got tape all over the tank.
How is the quality on the New Rage Cycles turn signals? The online reviews seem mixed at best but nobody makes a sleeker design
Really good had no issues what so ever and they look super clean. Much better than the lolly pop ones that come as standard.
where to buy front direction lights??
Change mirrors and exhaust asap
