    GREAT video! This is the way a diy video should be done. Very thorough, clear, and step by step instructions with video of the entire process. Thanks so much! I have a 2019 Tundra Platinum and I can’t believe this wasn’t already installed from the factory??! I had a 2018 SR5 and it was already installed when I bought it. Seems like a Platinum would come with it. Anyway, thanks again!

      Thank you, I appreciate that!!… and I totally agree, the higher end trims should absolutely come with this stock instead of having to add it on!

    Just finished mine on a Tundra 2021 Tundra limited. Pop & Lock fixed the wiring error in the instructions and now the instructions are correct. Having said that Pop & lock should be sending royalty checks! You're a good guy for making this video NitroZ18 Fishing.

    Great video just installed the OEM from your link. The OEM is the way to go in my opinion because it's close in price, plug and play at the passenger side wire connections, comes with new gromet already on the cable under the passanger front seat, comes with new cable clips at the transition from tail gate to bed. Mine came with very detailed instructions and that with your video made it an easy install.

    • @NitroZ18Fishing
      @NitroZ18Fishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Rod!!…and I actually agree here, if I did it again I would just go with the OEM option as well for the exact same reasons…thanks for watching!

    I just did mine today , I suggest not using that grommet but to use the one under the styrofoam it’s a secondary one and use the smaller grommet under the car to feed your wire. This way there will be no water can get inside your car .

    • @NitroZ18Fishing
      @NitroZ18Fishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea you can definitely do that!...thankfully I haven’t had any problems with water getting in, but that’s definitely an option!... thanks for watching!

    I had used PadLock for Toyota Tacoma 16-22 installed on 2014 Tundra Cremex the wiring is opposite . The factory line are white with silver dot and blue with silver dot, I had to connect green from the padlock tow white with silver dot, and blue to bule with silver dot, may be the supply factory had reversed wires already, according to your vidio , it will need to reverse the wires , I had this mistake, just want to share here. Good Luck and God bless!

    It’s a great video but I bought the OEM from Toyota and blue goes with red and green goes with the white....when I wired it up like this gentleman said to in the video my lock and unlock were backwards from each other....maybe because it was OEM and not the pop and lock....also Toyota sent no instructions on how to install this at all....I’m grateful for this video. Thanks

      @NitroZ18Fishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Randy, much appreciated!!...and yes sir, you’re correct...the OEM wiring is correct out of the box, and from what I understand, the new Pop n Lock kits are fixed as well...I guess they finally caught on and fixed the issue when manufacturing...thanks for watching!!

    Hello Sir,
    Your channel has helped me so much with all my after market installs. You always do everything the right way. I just had a quick question. When you were up underneath the passenger side kick panel to tap both wires, do you know if the location of the reverse light wire is around or located in any of those harnesses? I’m installing an aftermarket camera that has a trigger wire that needs to be tapped into the oem factory reverse light wire. I have a 2017 limited. If you see this I would really appreciate your time and feedback. Thanks

    Looks like pop and lock has a new actuator design that's easier to install and seems to work better, also not as loud. It is also plug and play and fused, and they even include two square clips that replaces the clips that hold the backup camera harness. Their clip has an extra hole to run their harness. Install was extremely easy. It is Pop & Lock PL8547TAC

    This definitely should be included in all the trucks, let alone all the higher trim packages. My 2020 Trd pro needs this.
    Do a video on the led taillights you installed. Any issues with them? Plug and play? Etc.

    • @NitroZ18Fishing
      @NitroZ18Fishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree, sad that Toyota doesn’t include this right outta the gates, such an inexpensive feature but well worth having!...and yea no prob, I can do a quick review video on the tails, thanks for watching Joe!

    • @Baebon6259
      @Baebon6259 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      they didn't even include driver side grab handle and the actual trans cooler. Toyota really cheaped out on these features while charged higher price.

    For those of you that have a 2017 tundra (I have a 2017 sr5 crewmax) it will be the blue wire with silver dot for the blue wire from the pop lock to connect to.

    Just fyi. Pop And Lock has a new model out now. PL8547HD for the same year models. It has a new locking mechanism and is a more complete kit. Comes with new bushings for thru tailgate installation and has molex connectors throughout. Much better kit than the video used kit for the same price. Also if you get the new kit the wiring instructions are correct. Do not swap wiring like the video for the old kit. Doesn't have a loud thud either when locked. (Edit: the loud thud is still there but no biggie) Very happy with mine!

    Dude, toyota makes that part as a factory accessory. I got it included when i bought my 2020 tundra. You would have gotten toyotas warranty on that part.

    • @NitroZ18Fishing
      @NitroZ18Fishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sir, Toyota makes an OEM version...but my salesperson didn’t make me aware at the time of purchase, it’s not automatically included in any package...my 2020 Platinum has every option offered and it wasn’t included, you have to ask to have it added on...no biggie to me, the pop n lock is cheaper and super easy to install anyway

    • @NitroZ18Fishing
      @NitroZ18Fishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually didn’t know that Toyota offered it as an OEM piece until after I bought truck, and then I saw the PNL so I went that route cause it’s basically identical, but PNL is less expensive
