I bought a used unit. Are the wires simply going to a negative and positive wire in the truck. If so I could quickly check the actuator for the lock before installing.
On my 2014 it was not the red wire I had to tap into, it was a blue with gray dash that was the same gauge wire as the white with gray dash. Took me a while to figure it out, so hopefully helps out anyone looking for this answer!

Chloe Kuo has a good video showing how she ran it on her Tacoma so the Tundra must be similar.
