K5-K10 Front Brakes - Hubs - Rotors! - First Timer!!

  • Always thought this was an intimidating job, never been inside the hubs before, all those gears, gadjets, snaprings, O-Rings, that special 4 lug socket deal, it can all be a little intimidating.
    First timer takes it on, watch the struggle and more importantyly watch me overcome it and what it takes to finish the job.

    There should have been a nail like thing sticking out of the first nut you put on and the lock ring should have locked on it, it has offset holes in it and can go on in either direction so after you get the correct preload on the bearings it will go over the roll pin. It looks like someone either ground it off or broke it off by not knowing what they were doing...

      Yep, other side had it. This side didn’t. Was a bit suprised. Maybe I’ll have to hit the wreckers

    name that tool .....
    FYI My local NAPA says that they dont sell just a rotor, rotor AND hub as a package only. UGH
