I really feel like the last point was the most important one and yet it was less touched upon than the others. Being yourself is the most important aspect. You attract people like yourself when you act like yourself, if you're gonna act fake then good luck keeping up the charade. But most importantly, get out more. I know it's hard to hear for some people, but you have to get out to meet people (unless you wanna do long distance). Go to events that are themed around your interests. Huge Nerd? Go to a convention (just make sure you don't go into creeper mode). Love music? Go to a concert. Etc.
I confessed to the boy I'm interested in and asked if he would want to go on a date. His response was he was busy and would need it to be after school got out. Me and my crush were rivals and I disliked her because I wanted to be the smartest. I always tried to get higher grades and teased her when I did, then I started to become self-consious around her. I would think about if I looked good in front of her, and then I tried to impress her. I realized I had feelings for her and this was the first time, I have always told myself that I didn't need anyone else. I didn't want to like her, but I did. I put on a shell and avoided her because when she got too close, I would blush and look away. I really feel like the last point was the most important one and yet it was less touched upon than the others. Being yourself is the most important aspect. You attract people like yourself when you act like yourself, if you're gonna act fake then good luck keeping up the charade. But most importantly, get out more. I know it's hard to hear for some people, but you have to get out to meet people (unless you wanna do long distance). Go to events that are themed around your interests. Huge Nerd? Go to a convention (just make sure you don't go into creeper mode). Love music? Go to a concert. Etc.

I confessed to the boy I'm interested in and asked if he would want to go on a date. His response was he was busy and would need it to be after school got out. I then texted him the weekend after school finished asking once again if he'd want to go to a movie or something. That was 4 days ago and he still hasn't responded, but I'm confused as I was getting so many great signs he wanted to be more than friends before, such as touching, smiling, shyness, even flirting. Now I feel hurt and ignored, but also incredibly sad that I'm not in his life. I just want to see him again and get to know him, spend some time with him. If you have any advice I'm all ears.

It's a hard and horrid think to say but don't get clingy (I'm awful at it, I really get it don't worry) for your own sake as well as anything else. Maybe try asking to do something a little less scary or obviously datly? But without it being much of a deal, from what little you have said they might just be shy, or not, one thing I always forget is others are constant going though similar shit to you, and without knowlage I've no idea what is going on in their life.
