As long as he paid them almost nothing for this thing it's probably ok. But for real, a 6x6 covered in bed liner powered by a 4 banger. Cracks me up when people think these things would survive an apocalypse. Terrible MPG, needs 6 healthy tires to move, awful reliability, and open back where you'd keep defenses and supplies. I'm not into trucks, zombies, or prepping, but it seems oxymoronic to me.
As soon as I heard its a 4 banger, I knew I saw it somewhere before! It was on Cars & Bids back in June, sold for like 72.5k probably to the guy who bought your Scud. Surprised that little 2.0 was able to pull 6 massive tyres!
Me as a “Jeep” guy… that is over the top. It’s converted to a six by six, but with all those extras essentially a SEMA mall crawler. Especially with the four cylinder engine. It’s for show, not for real off roading. But again my perspective is that real Jeep has only 2 doors and has manual transmission. So don’t worry, this Jeep guy (me) thinks of that as a bit of an ugly abomination especially with the Fab Fours front end. The few images you showed for the suspension makes me cringe a bit, as it looks like it would break on any easy to medium trails, as well as that electric motor does not look well secured. Sell it quickly as it’s not really a wise purchase. Next time you consider something like this, please contact someone who really understands off road modifications. SEMA show rigs like this are notorious for not being built properly.
There's a Benz AMG G 63 6x6 which is even bigger than this :) I'm from Europe and I cannot comprehend that people still buy Jeeps, let alone the expensive ones. They are falling apart in terms of craftsmanship and reliability.
Have you seen the all terrain stuff and other types of specialty vehicles coming out of Europe? Sure the US has lifted trucks and the Jeep, but Europe can surely hold its own💪
Highway driving a lifted Jeep with huge tires on a windy day is an experience. The wind resistance and road noise...you won't even be able to hear your own radio. lol
Pretty much what I guessed in the other video. a 6X6 Jeep. Seen a few before so the partial hood shot looked right. Yes, Jeeps don't drive great on road, but try and drive the Scud on a trail like the Rubicon. 😂
Car culture thrives on wildly different taste in cars! Our unique tastes and the variety of custom builds we love are what keep the scene alive and evolving. If we all liked the same style, every build would look the same, and creativity would suffer. Different perspectives and personal expressions make car culture exciting and keep pushing designs forward. Embrace the differences-it’s what keeps the passion strong! That being said this thing is an engine swap away from a pretty cool build in my opinion. A reasonably modified 6.7 Cummins and a lot of people would be more positive about it.
I think it`s cool. But I guess it is not for everyone :-) But if I had even the slightest little offroad-section that I needed to drive in my daily life I would want such a car.
Scud would have atleasy held its value lol but this is interesting.....you lost me at 2l lol The engine is the biggest turn off ,it would be better if it wasnt a 6x6 woth the small engine
The scud was an absolutely incredible car. I’m shocked that you could trade it after all that time and effort you put in. Good luck with your new toy though.
After more than three years of following without subscribing, I created my profile and subscribed NGSC … for that ! 😮😂😅. You made my day … just have to sell the blue 348 for a jeep then …
6000# vehicle is completely tax deductible for a business... there is no depreciation schedule, NO MATTER THE COST. So if you need to reduce a business's taxable income, you buy a 100k 6000# GVW truck and reduce the taxable income by the whole purchase price.
Ugh. the company that makes those is the jeep equivalent of those 90's "custom" conversion vans. Slapping cheap crap on a cheap vehicle. The turbo 2.0 I guess is used because of the higher torque than the 3.6 v6?
The 2 l engine and the suspension system looks like it's rated for a Dodge Dart weight class. And your second broken axle I'm going to guess is a ratio problem from the drive shaft back to those axles. Nonetheless when you put it for sale there's probably going to be 50 people who want it.
19:28 let’s get this straight, salvage title scud tough sell, Lambo was tough sell, and lost 15K on a gallardo sale? Solicited for evidence against Art by Machina. Basically, remember the commercial where the kid took his life savings and bought out the ice cream truck? 😳 That’s spray on Berliner there not even a paint job. What Josh say about that?
I mean, I get it. It is enjoyable to look at with not a whole lit of functionality. But at half to a 3rd of the price of the ridiculous TRX 6x6, supercharged Hemi 6x6, you get the look for not a lot of cost. This is cheaper than a Land Rover Defender and looks the part
That's the perfect rig for Meg to drive Junior to his activities, and her running errands! lol PS: I'm sure you well know, that is an expensive build. Someone spent a whole lot of money building that thing...
I'm watching this thing and thinking "thank god it's not a Cybertruck". Then I keep hearing you say "I'm not a jeep guy, I'm not a big truck guy", and then I'm thinking "there's no way that this ends well". Hard to tell if Hoovie's luck rubbed off on you or you were trying to follow in his footsteps, but ouch! I hope you got a fat check with the jeep in the trade. Still...I'm sure there's someone in Texas who'd want it. Maybe LS swap it.
WTF 😳! Dan, tonight the ghost of Enzo Ferrari will visit you and pull your feet! Terrible, terrible trade, but then again this makes for entertaining viewing 😁
So it tore up an axle with the four banger. Unless you throw a big bag of money at it and replace the rears with beefed up Dana 60’s or better, then that is pointless.
I’m usually not one to bash anyone else’s ride, especially out in the open…BUT…. These are what I call “testicle spectacles.” Trucks you drive when you wanna feel big, but you’re still so so little. 😂
This is a message to Meg. Meg, we know you love your husband. Please take him gently by the hand and get him the help he needs!🙏 And if gently does not do it, drag him kicking and screaming. He has clearly lost his mind😂😂😂
That truck breaking down just driving it on a normal freeway, makes me skeptical of how well this would actually do off road. I wouldn't want that to happen here in the desert. How well-engineered is all this additional work exactly?
That thing is hilarious. It’s no longer a Jeep though. Jeep guys are definitely not into that thing. That is awful and actually doesn’t do anything well. If you put a third axle on a Ferrari would you still compare it to other Ferraris? Would you still expect it to do Ferrari things well? That truck is a gimmick. It’s a talking point and that’s it. It doesn’t do anything that real jeep guy would expect it to do.
I'm sure he did. As I've watched more of her and Hoov's channel I can tell she's a really nice gal. Why people hate on them I don't get!? Hoovie is a nice guy too and people are jealous of his success.
If you are planning to go off-roading, don't be foolish like Hoovie when he trashed his black Porsche 911 Turbo just prior to sale. Given you just broke the axle, I would venture a guess this isn't as robust as it looks.
Should have kept the Scud....
Na
Yeah 😂 I'm not into trucks

@@mustuddd yeah the 4 banger is worthless it should at minimum be a Diesel the fuel economy is trash you might as well drop in a v8
Congrats! So you actually were able to find thé dumbest Automobile in existance and than Show it off to Hoovie. That is just cruel man …😅
A Scud for that Jeep? tell me he gave you 150k in cash as well
It is a worthless sema build, all that is good for was to display parts.
Eh I suppose
As soon as I heard its a 4 banger, I knew I saw it somewhere before! It was on Cars & Bids back in June, sold for like 72.5k probably to the guy who bought your Scud. Surprised that little 2.0 was able to pull 6 massive tyres!
Yup that's it
It probably wouldn't without the electric auxiliary power.
“Designed to survive the zombie apocalypse…” You should get a Ford Excursion with the 7.3L Powerstroke for that. 😎
Can’t wait for the lowball offers from Facebook on that one
Oh man

Oh I'm well aware it's not a real jeep and would suck off road.
Building that giving it a 4 cylinder is like an oxymoron. Oof.
Needs hellcat engine like stradmans, it would be riot then
Probably
The European mind cannot comprehend this vehicle.

Lol I almost busted out my noise cancelling headphones
@@normalguysupercar Dan--If you can you should sell this monster right away--Good Luck!!
Bryan Huff's 6x6?? That is an interesting trade! You'll have to come to KC more often!!
Yup
I enjoy how it sounds like a straight up trade when I would guess money also changed hands.
Yes lots of money on top
Highway driving a lifted Jeep with huge tires on a windy day is an experience. The wind resistance and road noise...you won't even be able to hear your own radio. lol
Correct!
The 2L motor should be more for charging the batteries than anything but you say that doesn't activate till full throttle. That's weird
Yeah
Can't wait to see Meg review this thing!

Looking at her “enthusiasm” for Dan’s Ram, I think the chances of Meg getting in that thing are slim to none😂

Agreed on the engine swap
The SUV version of that is based upon the Cadillac Escalade and can be optioned with a 800hp engine. They cost as much as 300k
LOL the guy at 4:00 rolling down his window and doing a double take.
That certainly is...something. I'll bet it would be a little better in a blizzard than your old Cutlass... 🤣

Check out Hidden Falls Adventure Park near Marble Falls. Looks like it's less than an hour from your dealership facility.
There is a 6x6 Jeep same as that at a dealer near me. It’s a blue color.
You do a great job selling it as a great-driving vehicle 😂 To quote James May when he tried the V8 blender drink, "Someone's going to want that."

Not going to lie, the Cutlass delivery had to be one of the best adventures ever! I’m just glad I wasn’t the one driving the truck 😂😂
