I hope you took care of him and threw him a few extra bucks for helping re-wire the trailer in the freezing cold. You seem to have great character so im sure you took care of him in some way
Cool adventure video. Grew up in Minnesota and have lived in Atlanta a long time. I can confirm life is easy. This video was moreso helpful as I was contemplating making a run to pick up some furniture in the f550 or 250. You don't have to think about your fuel in the South. I would have come up here to a crap show in my tank possibly if not for you. Thus I can confirm life is substantially easier in the South as far as trucking and car stuff. Cheers! 458, 911, F250, F550, 2 race trailers...
Someone would probably be totally shocked to break into that trailer and find one of your beauties setting inside. Hopefully you never have to find out and no disrespect intended as it seems like you got a great deal.
Putting a bed in the trailer would be pretty sweet tbh. Save one hotel and protect the cars. Just be ready to mess someone up if they try to break in again lol.
Been in the light truck accessory business since 1987 and I’ve only seen one schematic for a 7-way connector and it is SAE labeled, but I’ve seen a lot of messed up wiring. Often thought I’d reverse the wires for the 12v and the brake wire on my own trailer and truck so no one else could borrow it!
Yeah there's apparently an RV standard as well. The big problem was the ground wire wasn't attached to the frame. His wiring was grounding through the ball. Strange.
I need to tell you about the route to and from the DFW area that doesn’t put you on the awful I35. It’s even faster with minimal traffic. Since I discovered this route I actually enjoy driving to and from my place to the metroplex
Some folks are just not cutout for 4 seasons. That's ok, we need all kinds of folks to make the world go round. Not everyone is cut out to be a warrior.
great deal bud! what do you have around $600 in diesel? And then add another thousand bucks for brakes and fix the wiring and a little bit of stuff I think you made out. Thanks for the tagalong that was wicked fun. And not to be one of those guys, but you knew where you were going so you should’ve been more prepared with warm clothing lol! C’mone Man!
I’ve made that drive from Dallas to St Louis more times than I care to count. I-44 in Missouri is a MAJOR drug corridor from Texas to Chicago hence all the cops. Everytime it snows, Uranus gets plowed. I’m sure we all can agree, Oklahoma highways are the worse!!
Perhaps people in the midwest are better at driving farm tractors than cars. I think Delaware has the greatest ratio of cops per square mile. All concentrated on the tiny portion of I-95 that runs through their tiny state. Perhaps if you don’t clean up the trailer at all, no one will bother it. You may want to check your trucks engine air filter after driving on all those roads that were treated with the calcium chloride.
Dan, I hate shitty drivers. Back when we still had our 36' Renegade motorhome I had numerous people in small cars cut me off. What morons. The motorhome was basically a semi truck and they'd end up as a road pizza. I could definitely feel the jerking on bumps with the bumper pull behind the 2003 RAM diesel I used to have, but not when I towed it with the motorhome. The motorhome weighed 32,000 lbs and you didn't even know the trailer was there.
How much did you charge that guy who furnished the trailer ? I HOPE you didn't pay him You spent $1 a mile for depreciation on your truck. 200 gallons of diesel fuel @ $4 per gallon. About $800. A night in a motel $100 +. Food $200 +/-. Misc ??? I will buy you a calculator if you need one. Reply to me, Dan, i have more for you.
Man, a little cold and Dan won't stop complaining. Welcome back to the Midwest! Want some cheese with all that whine? 🤣
A Little Cold, my Nuts go up inside me just thinking bout Chicago weather
Yes please
I hope you took care of him and threw him a few extra bucks for helping re-wire the trailer in the freezing cold. You seem to have great character so im sure you took care of him in some way
Hmm
"We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigs, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses- hit it."
Lol yes
7:08 at least you thought about it at some point before it was too late. DEF is around 14 15. Dont forget about that too
Yeah, I always top up the def if it's at the pump. MUUUUCH cheaper.
Great little trip... i don't miss that constant, piercing cold either
Nope. It sucks so bad when it's that cold
It’s cute when southerners winter 😊
Lol yes. Come on down to Texas in August.
Hugh! Shouldn't you be at the Rolex 24 hrs of Dayton by now?
@ saving up for Montreal F1 this year ;)
It's cute when Northerner's summer in the South.
Great road trip dan..your the man
Thanks! It was a long one.
You are correct Dan. Real cold weather (less than 20F IMO) sucks!
Single digits are brutal. I just don't have clothes to handle that anymore

458, 911, F250, F550, 2 race trailers...
Yup, there's the rare incident in the south that messes everything up, but it's not often.
Towing two cars at once is baller! Such a dream!
It'll be cool when there are 2 Ferraris in there! Lol
That was a really good deal. Every time I ship a car I think the money would have been better spent towards my own car hauler. Someday...
Yeah it's probably worth it
Can confirm, live in Oklahoma, drivers suck. They don't use speed control, no lane discipline, and block the left lane.
Unfortunately I think that's pretty much just everywhere now.
Nice trailer,Dan hope it’s a good one and you have GREAT SUCCESS.
Haha thanks
Bad electric brakes is how I got into my only accident ever in my life. Towing a backhoe that would stop and kept just pushing me
Yikes!
whilst working on the new trailer!!! plz up the security on it ie steel door frames etc
Eh I mean if someone wants in they'll get in
It's the right color! This company Erickson makes some cool E Track wheel chocks.
Ah nice
Wow, sounds like an epic adventure!
It was
Do Henry’s Tropicool on the roof. Works so awesome and will keep it cool in the summer.
Interesting
Someone would probably be totally shocked to break into that trailer and find one of your beauties setting inside. Hopefully you never have to find out and no disrespect intended as it seems like you got a great deal.
That's why I like it looking like crap. Nobody would expect it to be hauling such nice cars.
Putting a bed in the trailer would be pretty sweet tbh. Save one hotel and protect the cars. Just be ready to mess someone up if they try to break in again lol.
Not a bad idea. Throw in a mini split
Like my daddy always said….if you ever get a chance to go to Oklahoma….pass it up
Lol yes
7:29 in colder areas the Sell „Winter diesel“ this time of the year, so if you refuel, not a problem
Yes
I wish you guys were based out of WI. I could use a side gig hauling cars as long as the scheduling was flexible haha
Well you can haul stuff here. Lol

How can a car guy possibly be a left lane camper. It boggles the mind :-P
How can a car guy come on a TH-cam channel and make stupid comments? Don't be a dumbass.
@@normalguysupercar awesome!
@normalguysupercar wow dude who peed in your cheerios? I don't have to watch if you don't want me to. No prob.
Cool seal the roof...no leaks no problems and very simple
Yup
I ❤ Slovacek’s! 👍🏼
Heeeeeck yea
Dan the weather is why we moved to Arizona
Correct
Fantastic deal
I think so too!
Dan is "Mister Truck" - the Exotic car hauling version!
Yeah apparently
I need to tell you about the route to and from the DFW area that doesn’t put you on the awful I35. It’s even faster with minimal traffic. Since I discovered this route I actually enjoy driving to and from my place to the metroplex
If it beats what Google says then I'm all ears
@ next time you have a minute at an event I’ll show you. Best part is you can “speed” a little and I’ve done it in just under 3 hours
Some folks are just not cutout for 4 seasons. That's ok, we need all kinds of folks to make the world go round. Not everyone is cut out to be a warrior.
Lol correct.
Nice.
Nope
No, Oklahoma is OK. Actually this road trip looks like fun to me, strangely...
I enjoy trips like this for the most part. I didn't like the cold
Enjoyed watching the video - was a long haul - glad is was basically non-eventful. I think you were smart to buy the used trailer.
Thanks!
winter blend diesel fuel should gel much colder than that. on the highway in Missouri it sounded like your truck was galloping.
Good spacing on the cracks in the road
great deal bud! what do you have around $600 in diesel? And then add another thousand bucks for brakes and fix the wiring and a little bit of stuff I think you made out. I don't own any warmer clothing. Seriously
I’m 72 and still wrenching on my 360 , C5 and C8s . I’m going to be sad when the body revolts and I can’t . I having too much fun
Yeah I will be wrenching until I physically can't
Try doing 74mph on the M1 in england pulling a 44 ft trailer.
You wouldnt be cold at night.....in the police station cell😂😂
That's sad the speed limits are so pathetic there. 😂
0:21 hey…. 17:47 great roi 32:42 at least it’s red
Yes
I a 44 foot trailer
Interesting
nice price on the trailer... how does that mattress work out
Honestly it sucks. Lol.
@@normalguysupercar oh wow i was going to get one... glad to get your opinion... thanks
@ it would be OK if you could stretch out the entire way but the truck isn't wide enough
When you buy fuel up there it should be treated already. So drive there and fill up. Done deal
Yes, but I had not filled up a full tank from when I left Texas.
I really like the trailer for the price
Me too
Dan, is all that idle bad for the DPF? Does it clog it up?
No I turned up the idle speed so it would run hot enough
You can keep Texas, don't like the heat & don't like the politics
I don't mind the heat but I'll give you the politics are idiotic. Of course all politics are.
Sounds like you learned you are allergic to snow and ice. LOL
Just reverified that

LOOOL about Uranus.
Weren't you worried that someone would steal your truck leaving it running all night??
I locked it. It was a possibility as much as it is while it's not running
Might as well leave them unlocked when not transporting vehicles
Generally

I just replaced it before the drive. So it's probably ok for a while
I thought you guys used jets to transport like F1?…
Haha

Yeah people don't realize when I'm hauling it's over 20,000lbs. That will smush your car into nothing.
How much did you charge that guy who furnished the trailer ? I HOPE you didn't pay him

Why would I charge the guy selling me a trailer?
People who use all caps to emphasize words crack me up 😂
Always try to drive away from people who drive erratically they might be under the influence or just crazy.
For sure
Kid drive from denver to Nebraska for new trailer.
Yeah
Dan watch the blood pressure mate lol, angry Dan upload lmao
I wasn't angry?
@ it’s a joke Dan, now now don’t be angry with me lol Be light hearted brother , us kiwis come in peace lol
Mission from god adventure? :)
I don't think God has anything to do with getting a trailer in Illinois
Don't come here then!
Ok no problem
There's that midwestern hospitality 😂
Dallas is the absolute worst city to drive thru. Period.
Pretty much
