Stolen & Wrecked Ferrari 430 Scuderia VS Bambi

- I decided it was time to sell my Superformance GT40 and buy another Ferrari. I've been looking hard to find a cheap but good condition salvage 430 Scuderia, and one popped up. I ended up getting a pretty good deal on it, but it has been previously stolen, wrecked, and rebuilt. So it's already got a pretty sad history. But we will fix it up. I thought it would be a great adventure to do a road trip back from Miami where I bought it, 1,450 miles back to Texas. The trip was mostly unremarkable except for only a few miles from home, I ended up hitting a deer! I'm really bummed for the deer but fortunately the Scud took it like a champ and barely has any damage.

Not usually a white car fan. But for some reason that white with silver stripe on the Scud looks absolutely outstanding.👍

Unpopular opinion: The 430 is the first Ferrari that looks best in white. There's something about it that just really works with the rear bumper/tail lights.

Congratulations Dan!! Although, the GT 40 was super cool, I kinda thought you'd eventually return to the Ferrari gang. It was the 458 Speciale that I noticed that you were perhaps changing your mind... Especially after you drove it... The Scud is a great choice too, for that incredible race transmission alone... So next question, you gonna convert this beauty? Epic, I tell ya, if you did. I only have 2 more Thursday night conflicts, then the Ferrari beeoch, will return to the Thursday night lives... Excellent move with minimal damage…the front knick and it probably separated the internal right hand wing bracket that allows for adjustment up and down!👍🏻 maybe epoxy that or panel bond it back?

I hit a deer with 68 Camaro on O.K. Turnpike just north of OKC. You could sit in the drivers seat and see the grill and passenger headlight. I'd say you didn't fair too poorly. Nice Scud!

Beautiful spec! I always get odd looks when I say it, but if I were to be shopping for a use say 430/458/488, my first choice is white with black stripes. I think it looks great on a Ferrari.

I would call the color ivory. PPF on that passenger front fender and bumper is younger than the rest as they were replaced from the old accident. Amazingly looks the same all around but could be video homogenization. Cheers on the new (old) car!
I think they replaced all the PPF at the time of the accident based on my conversation with the previous owner.
I bet that 10 year old PPF saved it from having more damage, then it did.

Dan, the "wheel bearing" thing could be something as simple as the 10 yr old tires, change them before digging into it. Sweet looking car I hope it will give you a lot of joy.

A few years back, I drove a Ford Focus (w/around 2500 miles) from Minneapolis (MN) to Miami (FL) and back. Drove straight from Orlando to Minneapolis. 23+ straight hours. That's comparable to your trip, isn't it? (LOL! Just Kidding of course!) In 2 weeks, I put over 5000 miles my rental. Sure the rental company loved that!

Since it’s already wrecked, perhaps just put the deer repair on insurance it’s documented anyway. Prob pays for the bumper and new ppf to lessen all the recon u have to do. But congrats what a great find, maybe transport it next time since that stretch of drive was so boring…. 😅
