  • Watch as my Dad and I attempt to fabricate our very first roll cage. This is a completely custom roll cage that we are building from scratch. One thing my new build was lacking is a roll cage. With how modified the Jeep is now, there aren't any cages on the market that will drop right in. We decided to build our own! Let us know what you guys think! Thanks and enjoy the video!
Huge shoutout to ‪@eastwoodco‬ for selling awesome tools that allow us to do things like this!
Thanks to ‪@barnes4wd‬ for making awesome builder parts!

Lot of fun watching you fabricate this. I like that you get the right tools for the job. I used to think I had no carpentry skills until I got some real tools and that changed everything. I am wondering if you have ever taken the bolts in your factory roll cage out. I want to do a full cage in one of my TJs and I want to paint all of it to match but I understand those bolts can be a real problem to remove.

Thank you! And yes, having the right tools for the job make a huge difference! Are you referring to the bolts that are on the floor of the Jeep for the roll cage?

@@BuiltDifferentGarage yeah. Haven’t tried mine yet but I hear they are trouble. I can’t see trying to paint the roll bar while still in the Jeep.

@@markkiger5219 they can definitely be a pain! The stuff they use is almost impossible to remove lol. We had to heat it up and then remove the bolts

How do you change out the heater core ?

The full dash has to be removed. This cage is going to be fully removable for that reason.

    Flex tape in house?

Grab handles coming from the top bar to the windshield bar woul be great. Also, I would replace the B bar now. Those factory roll bars are not strong at all and are the weak point. Everything else will crumble around that hoop in an accident and be pretty dangerous

I agree! And yes, they are definitely weak compared to the tubing we added. I think we plan on adding a piece along side of it the will run parallel with it. The main reason we kept it is for the windshield and the bolts that in place already.

My roll bar held up pretty good on my roll over on the highway
