YES now that is how a Jeep is supposed to look, excellent work on doing it with the pvc tubing. I can't believe that's been up for two years and I've missed it until now. Great 😃👍
I really enjoyed watching this vid. It was methodical and very well explained. I'll certainly be using this as my 'go to' instruction when I do the conversion. Nice one!
I'm glad I found this channel. I plan on doing the CJ roll bar, the CJ tail gate and a CJ grill front end conversion on my TJ. The TJ is currently going thru a frame off restoration. Could you make a set of those for me, post them to ebay.
The factory roll bar is .125" thick. Ultra 4 cars only use .120" wall DOM by 1.75". If you were to go .250" wall you would add unnecessary weight above the center of gravity which is never a good thing.
As long as you have a factory soft top there are no changes. I run my factory soft top no problem as nothing attaches to the rear bars. If you are using an aftermarket frameless style then you will have to fabricate something to make it work.
Nice tips! I've watched a lot of cage's get built and you seem to have better tricks. Now if I can find someone to teach me how to weld 🤦♀️ I would love to get the bolt-in crap outta my jeep that I put in 😩
My cage still isn't completely finished. I'm going to add to the front as well. I still used the stock B post portion of the roll bar so do fret about "bolt up" stuff. Play it out in your mind and on paper and go for it.
This looks so good, dropping the family bar is a nice throwback.
As long as the family is all grown up and out of the house!

That is a great look! Nice instruction on how you figured out the orientation of the bar!

Absolutely love it man. Cant wait to do mine! I like the drop down tailgate too!
Nicely done!
Very clever and detailed. Thanks for the way forward.
I actually have PVC jigs if you're interested. Trace and cut.

I sent you a email I’m interested in a set if your still making em thanks
Is 1/8 wall pipe strong enough? I would go with 1/4 wall DOM.

The previous owner of my TJ did something like this to mine. Do you have any idea of how I can add a soft top to this type of set up? Thanks!

@@TheBFHGarage I do not have the factory soft top. I was wondering how it would look since the roll bars that the soft top rests on are now slanted.
@@LJ_AF you could make a cross bar that clamps to the slanted part. That would be somewhat easy to fabricate I think.
agree hate that 97 roll bar style, guess it is for people in back seat i remove back seat
have soft half tops with tonneau . good job.

You make a kit to sell?
I threw around the idea of selling the PVC template so people could make their own but there's only been a few that have reached out.
I have bendtech..... done with cope templates in 2 minutes
Not too smart, what's going to keep the windshield from caving?
What was keeping it from caving before?
@@TheBFHGarage Nothing, you fold the windshield down ....
Damm, I will go the other way, so I can put a full top to cover my kids.
no patience no pvc cardboard tube
but why tho...
@@rmat9023 why not? I love the look. I don't ever have people riding in the back so no need for the boxy rollbar look
