Your work is appreciated by me and a ton of others.. Your integrity is impeccable . Your accuracy is impressive. I found your channel 2 years ago, and I don't miss an upload.. I've learned so much from you that no else has covered. Your my favorite European. You even use freedom unit for us slow folks across the pond. Keep it up sir.. Respect. Thank Ian.
Am brand new into FPV this video is absolute gold thanks! Ian for taking your time to do this i now have a way better understanding of DJI compatibility.
What a huge amount of work!!!! Cambridge even made it a new college degree: "Advanced Astrophysical Understanding of DJI Compatibility Madness". If DJI doesn't reach out now, I don't know when it will! LOL
Thank you for your effort. You are such a great guy helping us a fpv community. Of what you explained probably I will keep using Googles 2 with my avata 1, avata2 and fpv O3 unit. I can't see a reason to use googles 3 at this point.
Excellent deep dive and resources Ian. Thanks! ♥ What a birds nest! Hopefully DJI watches this as they plan for version 4, or 5 of their FPV goggles and accessories. DJI needs to develop a better flight plan for their product line-up going forward with consistent core set of functionality. As far as backwards compatibility, understandably it will always be a mixed bag, so I'm not expecting much. Not having a consistent options for spectators, or just sharing video (output), really misses on opportunity to have more people see DJI products in action, and share via social media etc. (not just for FPV, but across DJI consumer/professional drone lineup)
This video was exatly what i needed. thank you. now that dji neo has come I really hope they update and fix the generational update from rc3 with goggles 2 as well.
Hey Mad, thank you so much for the comprehensive video. You say, that the DJI RC Motion 2 is not compatible with the DJI FPV drone. But it is listed as compatible on your website in the compatibility chart. Has there been an update on this topic? Regards.
I don't personally use DJI, though I know a newb trying to sort this all out and this mayhem is a perfect explanation as to why I'm sticking with Caddx... Despite the reliability on both the hardware and firmware fronts.
I just use v1 with vista and trans1 . And v2 with 03. No switching profiles no headaches no issues i also have goggles2 but dont like them . All the v1 stuff performs just as good as the newest stuff . Waiting for this 04 air unit drop if it evers happens
I ate breakfast before I started watching. Had to stop and go get lunch! I saved this master piece of DJI gogglenonomie! New word submitted to Google not Goggle!
Thank you Ian for another great video. So here is my question.... I am about to buy my first fpv drone and don't know if I should buy the newest DJi or go down the Walksnail route? (Flywoo 85 with the Jumper T15) Tough one for someone that has only ever flown a simulator lol Cheers Kip Keep up the great work. Thank you
Hello. This is a bit of a complex question, but I can’t seem to find the answer, possibly you could help? I have the v1 goggles and 3/4 vistas and v1 air units. I’m debating the V2 or the goggles 2 but I don’t want to loose features on my original air units. If I got the goggles 2 HD and updated all the firmware. Would I need to send an arming signal to my vista and v1 air unit to get full power if the 1200mw firmware has been replaced by the newer firmware. I use a ground fpv unit with no flight controller. I’d prefer the goggles 2 HD but not if it makes range and penetration less for me with the stated parameters .
Yes sadly you are correct. There is no 1200 mw mode or the ability to fully turn off Low Power Mode with the goggles 2 and any of the Aiirunits. Basically when you upgrade the AU or Vista to work with Goggles 2 and Integra it works exactly the same as O3.
So if I have bought AVATA 2 in August 2024 and updated firmwares to the latest, can I make it full power to have max speed and batter acceleration? Ham hack should I put to gogles? Or can't do anything for now?
How do you get the goggles 2 to record DVR on the goggles using OG AU or Vista? Is there a certain SD card to use or will it work with any SD card like the V2 goggles do. What firmware does it need to be on to get record on take off.
Hiya mate abit off topic but I've just ordered the 03 Armer so I don't need a flight controller but is there a way I can't still get osd still on my dji goggles 2
I'm sticking to a Gogs v2 fpv arrangement and will acquire a real ExpressLRS radio and ELRS receiver with all that on the drone, as I'm new to a lot of this. Really wish I hadn't bothered with the Gogs 3 and Avata 2 package as the remote 3 is basically a glorified TV remote! That makes me rather annoyed!
It's a great Acro training setup for learning the basics and doing cinematic shooting. But it's definitely overpriced for what it is. After seeing how abruptly the signal can drop while flying fast, I will never use DJI video with DJI controller protocol. A crossfire/ELRS receiver is a much lower failsafe/crash risk.
We need a new WTFOS for the new goggles wave (2, Integra, 3). A patreon that could finance a team to unlock this devices would be way more cheap than changing goggles every year. But probably the community doesn't have so skilled engineers to do so.
Hi Ian. There is a small typo in your matrix. Small but critical. DJI Goggles 2 with DJI Avata 2 cell. The last word "Integra" is wrong. It should be "2".
If I could buy G3's and spectate my G2's on Avata1, it might be tempting. But without that,.. and only like 10mbit upgrade,....and not to 03,... and no 04 exists,...... it just ain't happening. And then there's the ban,... A year ago I was extremely unlikely to consider walksnail.
If I buy the avata 2 kit can I use the goggles 3 and the radio 3 with the dji fpv drone then? just to be sure? isn't the fpv drone using the O3 air unit? on the chart , it says the fpv drone is not compatible with goggles 3. Im still confused. thanks for the video
No the FPV drone does not use the O3 air unit. The systems in the drones are not standalone air units. They are dedicated devices. As per the chart goggles 3 are not compatible with DJI FPV Drone.
@@MadRC ok, thanks a lot for clarifying this. really usefull information. Thats a bummer, i'll be hopefull that maybe one day it will. knowing that it most likely never will XD Big thanks for your video again👌
I purchased a DJI FPV drone but noticed it didn't come with the drone, the only accessories i got was Goggles, Air Unit and RC. Please what should i do?
What? Goggles 3 can't share a picture to g2? No way, why I bought it...... at least it should worked with 03, but there's no reason why it shouldn't with 04 too. Dji ! Wtf , 03 should share the image from Goggles 3 to g2 and g.v2! 04 avata 2 should to g2 at least!

What a great job explaining the DJI mess..
Thanks Ian. Your deed a great job. As always
Great work Ian, thank you
Thanks! 😅🙌 DJI-compatibility-matrix..! 🎉😂
Yep, glad I stuck with goggles 2 and V2. Goggles 3 and controller 3 just have to many limitations.
Thank you for all the information
(My brain turned to mush at the end)

Good job! The Dji jumble well explained.

What a mess, still using V1, crossfire and a good old X9D.
Hello Ian. Can you do a video about using the Airunit O3 Without a flightcontroler when flying fixedwing.
Outstanding, thank you.
Thank you Ian… without the chart my head would have exploded.
Nice work, thank you. I have V2 and runcamlinks and some 03. What do you think should i go for google 2
Great video. 1000% agree that the spectator issues are a dumpster fire. Id be willing to bet that DJI have lost sales on this issue alone.

Any way to utilize the left hand wheel on the remote to control something on the O3? for ex one of those G-port gimbals you reviewed on this channel.

Im absolutely blown away on the range of goggles 2 and OG AU and vista! 30km?! That's insane and seems to be the best option combo to use

What hardvare versions do the ham file work on for Integra googles and Avata1?
Yesterday i sold my Integra, now i am back on V2 and can skip all of that DJI BS bingo 🙄
You did the right thing. V2 and caddix vista is the best digital option and the cheapest one.
@@atriusvinius319and what about $199 Walksnail Googles L ?
The V2 goggles are the best ones they ever made and you don't get the strange focus problems like you do with G2
