    To all the people asking about my RC radio software, it's a Flysky FS-I6X model running OpenI6X firmware. OpenI6X is a special version of OpenTX that can be flashed to this particular radio. I have been using it for about 2 years now and it really brought a new life to this old champ. It's been working flawlessly, but the gimbals on this unit aren't very precise so I will probably swap it for a Radiomaster soon. I won't be making any tutorials about this software, because there are already tons of them on TH-cam, just go search for it. Also visit OpenI6X Github page to learn more.

      I was just going to leave an angry comment how ardupilot firmware won't fit on any damn speedybee flight controller like the one you had shown, there are a few H743 flight controllers like mateksys h743 mini or the hollybro's kaukute or whatever they call it but yea, my elrs Rx is built into the jumper t pro V2 I'm using, I guess I would just cough up the $70 for a new flight controller with full ardupilot firmware support. The mateksys ditched the mpu6000 with a bit of an upgrade, the holybro is still rocking the mpu6000 but both got 2gb flash and full size onboard ardupilot, just saying would have made things a touch easier from the get go probably.....but yea interesting way of accomplishing it if you have an external Rx elrs and a flight controller that can't run ardupilot itself. Pretty awesome, All hail Mavlink!

    I was playing with Ardupilot in 2014 with a 700mm CF quad and pixhawk. It weighs a couple of kilos so I haven't used it since laws were made and miss the fun I had making BVLOS missions.
    Good to see that things have improved since with miniaturization and that they solve the waypoint glitching as the copter flies through it!
    Tempting to get back into it again on a smaller but still useful scale.

    Some suggestions::
    - fly drone in evening and use camera with long exposure to capture light paths as drone(s) fly a mission path and change LED colours, relative to position
    - use two drones to carry a small banner/flag, with string between
    - have camera drone follow a second drone. think would require sharing gps telemetry.

    The video is good, but:
    3:50 - If you want to increase the stiffness, then simply print the structure a bit different, not so flat.
    Try it with a U-shape frame or something what looks like pipes, this gives a lot of stability with the same amount of material in comparison to a flat frame structure.
    With the U-shape or pipe shape of the frame you could hide the cable much better.
    4:16 - You could use simply some longer screws for the BLDC motors. Why so complicate?
    24:22 - The geo-fence is nice, but 6 distance sensors like the VL53L0XV2 to prevent collisions with humans or a wall or a tree would be useful. But possibly not so easy to add to this software?

For me, the requirement to have a complete second RF link (transmitter module and receiver) is a deal-breaker for ELRS Airport mode. Perhaps the camera should be placed at a different position to avoid parts of the drone are in the picture. Does it actually come with obstacle avoidance sensors? These props are really noisy imo. For how long does the drone stay up in the air with this DIY battery pack? Is there a 4k 20x optical zoom camera available as an accessory out on the market to have it attached? Nice project tho.

    This could be great as a security drone who is constantly circling a building or something else

    Ive never made a quad, your video has given me the bug. Im in the UK if anyone can give me information on what I will need, maybe some sort of a list, just to help me out, that would be great, I been flying drones for years and always wanted to make a sub 250g but ill admit ive no idea where to start. I had the mavic pro but when the CAA changed the rules I had to go for the mavic mini, its a great drone but making your own, well thats just on another level.

    Amazing Work! Is it possible to build a bi-copter with Ardupilot? If yes, why am I not able to find any tutorials and articles on it?

      It sure is! Although tuning these things is a nerve wracking task😅. Check out my Patreon, I just posted a video there about my own ongoing Bicopter project
