Was this AI generated DJI Avata song?
Would you please be able to verify if the Goggles 3 can connect to the Vistas and the Air O3 units? Also, can the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 connect to the Air O3 units?
The manual says that there are -2 corrective lenses provided in the kit to get that -8 you are after, oh and that was an awesome review thanks.
Vista?
@@biglizardmedia EDIT: I may have misread that O3 compatability omn the site.
The web site says G3 works with O3. No mention of Vista on the front page.
And of course if therer are caveats theyre not mentioned on the G3 front page.

You took over for me when Project Blue Falcon passed away.. 2017 was the time i started flying.. Watching flow state made me realize how much banter you went through and you continue to stick to your routes and provide updates for people like me who are still learning.
Thank you for all that you've done for the community J.
Hope to have you in South Africa one day!
Same here!
He y me to its been a good journey yes
Honestly, the corresponding FAA of my country does not care about distance as much as not flying above people. So, for longer ranges out in the mountains which i like to do, the aid for the line of sight that the new goggles provide is going to be much usefull. This has been my biggest anxiety and the reason to always look for someone to accompany me during my long range flights, which is usually very hard.
Mini 4 and air 3 is O4, not O3. And work with goggles 2.
so yeah, goggles 2 should be able to work with O4/Avata2 if DJI wants to...
4 3 03 2 2 04 2 What the hell?
Their goggles 2 Weren't compatable with anything but avata and o3 right away after a few months of updates they were compatible with about all of their semi recent products down to vistas. I assume it takes time to make and optimise these updates. Maybe it's a sales thing idk
Thats a very happy JB there :)

in Germany we say "wie ein Honigkuchenpferd" - like a honey-cake-horse
The quality of the video at the beginning is impressive!
Crazy in depth guide, thanks. Excited for mine to arrive tommorow
Thank you! I appreciate your videos. You helped me navigate all the nuances of drones.
The best part of the Avata 2 is the song 💯
Can't wait to double tap everyones goggles while they flying
Amazing features, enjoyed the tour thanks JB.
In this world of “trials” and tribulations, it’s so refreshing to see the pure joy at which you look at the world.
11:30 thank goodness they added 2.4ghz mode. This was a pretty big problem at Mindfield last year, none of us could figure out how to force the Avata 1 to stop stomping all over everyone else’s gear. 😅 and, Mad’s Tech will no doubt bring us an incredible full RF analysis shtuff that we’re all waiting for.
@@JDDupuy It was pretty bad dude. And no fault of the Avata guys since they couldn’t help it except to not fly.
Dave / Flyhigh and I were absolutely baffled that there was no way to switch the Avata to 1 to 2.4ghz only.
Every other DJI flying thing supports that. So only a couple Avata could be in the air at once realistically without causing issues, because they just swamped the spectrum.
@@JohnCuppi Setting the Avata to manual channel and 20 MHz bandwidth didn't work?
Also, we don't know that it actually completely stops broadcasting on 5.8 when you set it to 2.4 GHz mode... Will have to wait for Mad's Tech to (hopefully) put a proper spektrum analyser on it.
@@Vousie I don’t recall exactly everything we tried, but I feel like I remember we attempted that. Have you tried that personally and does it work for you?
One thing I can say is that the Mavic pilots who set 2.4ghz don’t bother anything, so hopefully it works exactly as described.
You used Suno to make an Avata 2 song?! Lmao! 😂
Haha it seems he has . My hopes of making music to sell to youtubers is gone lol
Blunty has to get his money's worth XD
i just made one rn. sick!🤣
Hahahaa I thought the same thing!
I let out that same giggle when I saw the Avata yeet the pen out of the prop guard and turtle flip back to normal
Bardwell bringing the only review I need! Always on point and every relevant detail included to buy the drone!
Fantastic flying and review, Joshua! Thanks! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Avata 2 song! 🔥😂 I’m waiting until they break these kits up and start to sell the air units / goggles separately.
Wow always like your reviews they are so thorough and informative. Thanks for this I’m looking at getting this kit to get into FPV.
When I fly my Mini 3 Pro (rarely... I keep it for a few flights a year when I need a flying tripod), I always use my Goggles 2 and Motion Controller 2. It's the best way to fly that quad, IMO.
Hey josh, I love your videos. Would you recommend someone to buy the Dji Goggles 3 or buy the goggles 2 for a cheaper price? Im just getting into the hobby and was going to build my first diy drone.
same q
Goggles resting on the forehead: In VR, people usually call that mounting as a "Halo Strap".
Always giving us in depth detail in your review videos. Let’s go JB . Thanks my dude 👊🏻👊🏻🫶
My favorite feature of the motion controllers is that little white circle. It's a game changer.
Dji Avata 1 had T mounts as well. Love the new USB port placement, and definitely that goggle strap should allow you to flip the goggles up when you don’t have them on your eyes, something I really hate about my goggles 2 is them getting foggy when I wear them on top of my head, even while wearing a 🧢. Great review bro, as someone who knows how to build my own drones, I would definitely not spend the money on the Avata 2, but for everyone learning, this drone is gold! 🤘🏽
Thank you for all the work you doing for the community 😊
I once used a Wi Nunchuck to control a RC helicopter. The yaw control was the same as with this new DJI controller. Angling the Nunchuck up and down was throttle control. The joystick on the Nunchuck, behaved the same as the right joystick on a mode 2 controller.
It's interesting to see this take on a one handed controller. I found using the Nunchuck awkward myself. I think have a some sort of throttle control would really improve a one handed controller.
Thanks for the review JB.
I had my eye on the avata for a while but stuck with my standard traditional kit plus added a mini 3 on clearance. This might be a great addition to get my wife and kids into the hobby, especially if the goggles will eventually work with the vista and o3 in my other quads. Great review as always, Joshua. I always look forward to your analysis first, as it’s the best, most honest, unbiased review on the web. Much appreciated 🎉🎉🎉
Honestly, this actually looks like a good starting FPV drone.
I won't lie, the flight looks really rough. It's super underpowered and very janky.
But the fact that you can switch to a more automatic and "stable" flight mode would have saved me so much when I just started learning how to fly and I kept crashing into the ground after losing orientation.
I've spent so much money in the beginning on replacement parts/drones that buying this would have actually be much much cheaper.
Amazing how far we came, from basically cringing every time someone confused my FPV drones with a DJI, to the point where I'll actively recommend people who are new to this hobby to buy a DJI drone first. Wild.
Simulator and slowly switching to acor is betterband cheaper probably with a tinywhoop
@@flighttrain71well if someone wants to get into fpv or you want to show your friends and let them fly a little bit you can't beat the avata. Also DJIs RTH is very good that saves a lot of $$$. They will even fix your drone for you for very reasonable prices.
Turns out the Suno segment in the news was not a random mention. It was foreshadowing!
I love every video Joshua makes. Such a great contributor to the FPV community! Keep it up Josh!
Man, I watched lots of Avatar 2 reviews and by far, your presentation is the best. So detailed. Really impressive. I really appreciate that you were concentrating on the content. I'm not trying to be cool. You are cool by default for not wasting energy about that specifically. Thank you very much. And I am going to buy the drone.
But can you use the new gogglrd as ride along for O3 drones
I had no idea that song was AI until it mentioned the dji avata 2 😅
By far one of the best reviews I’ve watched. It’s always a fanboy or a complete basher, but this guy EXPLAINS the tech and practicality! Thank you, you’ve got yourself a new subscriber!
Thank you very much for all your drone videos. I appreciate it.
Thanks Joshua, as always top shelf. Quick Q please mate, does it have live audio?
No.
Fun fact: my DJI FPV Drone used to have live audio until I installed the HAM hack, now no audio. I miss the serene sound of a swarm of angry bees in my ear while I fly. 🥹😎
People honestly need to give the motion controller a try, it’s fun sharing it with your friends 😊
Disinfect it between users though and don't look them in the eye.
@@eatyourvegfpv That made me laugh but it was the 'Not looking them in the eye' that really got me..
i would never do that to friends
Hello Joshua, great review like always, thank you!
Your style to speak and present your videos , remember me the Beakman from "Beakman's World" and I love it...
full release of dji Avata 2 song pls
Thanks for the overview Joshua. Sounds like I will NOT be using the Picture-In-Picture feature. Honestly, wasn't expecting much from this feature from the leaks. Some cool features but not convinced yet it's worth the $$$. For me personally, I really wanted to see a HUGE improvement in the camera quality for the type of work I like to do. Not sure if DJI's at the point that it beats a GoPro with ReelSteady....probably not.
I actually wonder how long it will be before stores sell aftermarket wide-angle lenses to stick over the two cameras... Kinda like the macro lenses you can buy to put on your phone.
Yeah, I think I'll wait for the new GoPro instead
Excellent review Joshua. Despite the backwards compatibility situation currently, this is actually a very impressive drone. I would have no problem wanting to add this to my collection of custom FPV builds.
Thanks for the good info .. new to all this but a great new hobby 20 days in
Honestly DJI had a huge missed opportunity to let the goggles flip up with the forehead rest.
Would’ve made the cost too high.. The mechanics to even do that without light leaking in could be tricky too..
@@MrYoungspeeder no, only a way to just keep it up there like those military night goggles to change from normal view and then you drop them down to see in the dark type mechanism
Pretty sure they were worried you'd burned the screens with the lens exposed to the sunlight. It's pretty easy to do if you're not careful about where you place your goggles.
Damn, Joshua got a review unit this time
As far as I can tell, the new goggles don't support the O3 system?
They do not work with O3 at time of release. I would guess DJI will unlock compatibility later, like they did with G2 and Vista.
@@JoshuaBardwell but will they allow them to be used on the DJI FPV or original avata? And I didnt watch the video yet, but diving in now, maybe you answered that already.
Thanks for another great review. Will get my hands on it soon😋
Am so happy this vid was recommended. Not into drones but you've done a very nice, happy review. Very informative. Keep up the good work!
Forget the avata 2 that song is a banger 🎉 lol
Great video and great song, but DJI never fails to disappoint with lack of backwards compatibility, and proprietary everything. But hey, they use standard FPV props now! Its almost like iPhone switching to USB type C. I could purchase 2 maybe even 3 analog drones and a 4k runcam/hawkeye, controller, and goggles for less than the price of one of these. And if i wanted to get a new drone in the future I wouldn't have to buy a whole new set of goggles and controller 😂
Buy was many Avata 2s as you like.😁
Frankly the value with the Avata 2 is off the charts. You get a camera that will go toe to toe with GoPro, very good digital stabilization, long flight time (for FPV), the best transmission system, very good goggles, head tracking and a decent motion controller for the cost of an entry point into basically any FPV kit. I understand that its DJI and comes with their rules & limitations, but dang they make a great value proposition if you just want to get out and fly and not build/tinker.
I started flying RC in 2011, and waited 12 years to start FPV. (because I like to start with the less fun experience and work my way up). The last two months I was finally gonna get in to FPV, started doing research. Ordered the 03 unit to start converting some of my planes to FPV. Then I got the betafpv aquilla 16 as a training drone. Then they release the avata 2! It was a no brainer. I picked the absolute best time to get in to FPV! Today I am picking up my avata 2 after having flown the Aquilla 16 for a week now. It's gonna be AMAZING! Yes the DJI restrictions will be annoying as fuck, but like you said ... all of this for about a 1000 euros? Not to long ago they told me if I build something with all these capabilities, headtracking, gps, return to home, etc etc. They said it would cost at least 3000 dollars. And now I am getting all of this for a 1000 euros and I don't risk fucking things up by having to sodder. This avata 2 is gonna bring more people in to FPV then ever before, mark my words!
As a big fan of avata 1, I just ordered the avata 2. It is like with the dji mini 3 to dji mini4 upgrade. The specs do not change much but overall, products just get better. It is also good when flying a drone a lot to refresh the battteries after all these many flights. I expect the avata 2 with the new googles to have a better range. I had never upgraded the firmware of the avata 1 googles because after that, I would had been required to tether it with the phone which is annoying. Now, with the avata 2, remote ID is built in so that no phone tetheringwill be necessary.
That level of forced incompatibility should not be legal.
Regarding Euro C1 certification:
EASA (the euro FAA) allows C1 drones to be flown without the annoyingly complicated drone pilot license that some countries require and you can fly it closer than 50m to people (not over gatherings of people tho)
You still need to do the A1 A3 tests and have an operators license. Only advantage is you can fly it in cities and close to people and urban areas and not only in a field like avata 1
@@ixography It's a different "competence test" which is easier afaik. But also I'm flying my stuff mostly in the mountains with no one in sight for like 50km, so I'm only surface level familiar with all the compliance bs
@@MaxRovensky I think you don't know how the european laws work. Just study the EASA website
@@ixography my interfacing with EASA regulations is in the context of a PPL, I indeed have no deep knowledge or interest in drone laws

That rug really ties the room together.
Bardwell learned something today lol. The motion controller is actually pretty cool, and can be a useful tool lol.
But if you get to keep the drone after the video isn't that a form of compensation?
Yes, obviously. That's why I disclosed it. And why I said, "Or other forms of compensation."
Would advise you watch his DJI fpv drone review (potato) if you would like some evidence of his objectivity with DJI products.
I have found the motion controlled had much more nuance to it than people gave benefit. It is nice to see he is warming to things other than raw fpv.
Their ideas with compatibility over their different generations is why I would never go that route.
Sadly it has to be that way to get the maximum performance benefits
What do you mean? If you have avata 1n you can keep all same gear and just buy new drone when firmware drops.
Ok. Unfortunately no one cares.
Do you still have a cassette player in your car?
@@SikhFPV Maximum profits*
their is no reason they couldn't make things modular other than they want you to buy the new thing every year. It's the Apple business model and it works very very well if you're trying to maximize the squeeze on your customers wallets.
Great video! I can't wait for this to go on sale! 😉
Might just buy one of these only to use the motion control mode. That looks so slick. Can’t wait till we can replace the goggles with some AR glasses that look less nerdy and you could take this thing out anywhere
DJI: if you would like one of our DRONES, pay us $1000+ so we can quickly make your DRONE obsolete by introducing your DRONE’s successor which will not be compatible with your controller, headset, battery, nor any other accessories on which you have spent $thousands.
As well as wait a week for every repair or take an hour-2 to tear it apart… if people thought Apple was bad wait till they experience DJI
As usual a great JB video!!😊✈️
Amazing content as always.. thanks mate
Sweet mate.
I've had Avata 1 from release.. love it.. built FpV for 10 years..
1 very important note with the Head Tracking...
If the drone goes out of whack.. as mine did a 180 orientation whilst over a 70m waterfall... HIT THE STOP BUTTON.
I had to steer the drone backwards and crash it into scrub. And luckily it was retreavable 3ft from the cliff edge.
May have been interference with a lot of metal walkway construction... not sure..but I sure did shit my pants.
Good work JB, really appreciate this very complete video. All questions answered! What went wrong with the sound this time? Mixing, Voice Quality, all not as good as usual.
I like stick controls, and I thought the hand motion controller would be bad....but after I used it for few flights, I changed my mind completely.
It is really nice and precise .
Another great review from JB! First place I go when thinking of spending more money I don’t have on drones 👍🏼

@@mcbikewild9243 facts
I'm hearing that some people are still not clear on whether G3 goggles are compatible with O3 and Vista-generation air units. They are NOT compatibile at time of release.
I had already purchased the Goggles 3 on Amazon. I contacted DJI to ask about the O3 units and this was their response...
"Hello! Currently, Goggles 3 is not compatible with 03 but we receive some similar feedback and forward it to our R&D department. Our R&D department is working to make them be compatible in the future"
Needless to say, I had to cancel the order. Come on DJI, you're better than this! Or maybe you're not.
Awesome .... Thanks for this..
Absolutely love these videos. Any idea if there will be correction lenses for the goggles ?
The rear cameras are to trace back short part of the flight path in case of signal loss. The small pip FOV is a trade off to use two small cameras to replicate human eye like focal length and using lot of battery and processing power to combine view from at least four different cameras.
I’m loving the drift mode flight with the Wii stick 🫡
I love my motion controller 2. It's a blast. I also have the fov controller 2, but I don't use it that much. I mostly bought it for the 03 air unit lol.
Thanks for this!
What about video out how's that workin?
did they change the optics at all? do your eyelashes still need to touch the lens in order to get a full view?
I like the idea of the forhead contact point. I really don't like how most goggle SMASH into your face and you end up carrying weight on your nose or have to have a third band on top of your head to adjust. I have not of course tried it in person, but it seems like a good idea.
AHH remote ID integrated into the goggles. There it is. Thank you DJI for not giving me a reason to upgrade to the newest gear 🤩
Awesome they sent you one. Love the crash!
Looks great!
Great review. I'm impressed with the avata. Tgw avata 2 looks even better
That’s a pretty cool setup!
I wear pretty thick glasses and I can't see well without them. I have special prescription lenses for my meta quest pro, do these goggles have adjustable sight?
Thanks for early review! Does it have sw distance limitation?
You can configure distance and altitude limits. As far as a hard maximum imposed by the system, I don't know. I can't do BVLOS flying legally.
Beside all that tech stuff I am jealous about your yard.... It's so nice to fly.... very nice objects at one place! Love it!
