I very much prefer Light Side Arcann. I love that he also realised that he had to earn his stripes and you can be apprehansive with him. I hate it when the bad guy defects and then he's just part of the family.
Josh Powell-Morris the only thing I don't like about him is his voice. It just doesn't suit him to me. I think his voice should be like the main protagonists, not so deep.

Arcanns face is so detailed compared to the others
Even his armor set is much more better detailed compared to thexan's armor set -which really pissed me off lol
@@supercanadian9694 That's because Thexan's armour set had to be designed to fit on 8 different body types, separated into 7 pieces, and dyed.
In-game, Arcann is one of the few companions with an entirely unique character model, so his armour was specifically designed for that model. That gave them more freedom with the amount of detail on the armour.
I disliked Arcann in KOTFE, but being able to redeem him I saw him differently. He's his own man now, out from under his father's thumb. And the new look does suit him...he bears the scars of his ugly past but doesn't let them stop him as he works to atone for the man he was.
Plus the soft quality of his deep, growly voice shows a marked difference in the man himself. He's calm, at peace, in control. I like the new Arcann ^_^
morbius109 As a longtime SW fan myself I am not on board with many things to happen in SWTOR, mainly gameplay and lore-wise. The class changes for this expansion are arguably the worst I've seen for an MMO or even a standard RPG for some time. However, I'll give credit where it's due. Arcann turned out to be better written as a character than originally suggested. I main neutral alignment, and I'm thinking with LS options like this I'll be doing so again this expansion.

It was very refreshing seeing him like this. Maybe I was too certain that Bioware would want to go the route of "He can't be redeemed in any way, cause you know... EVIL!".
Eh, I prefer that to badly done "redemptions" where super evil bad guy randomly realizes he was wrong all along or suddenly "sees humanity" or some shit like 99% of animes.
But this wasn't sudden Taco, Arcann has had a lot of development.

They kept something fresh on both sides by having Vaylin remain evil. But what makes these stories great are their character developments. I felt sorry for both Arcann and Vaylin throughout both expansions.
I had to laugh when the 6 troopers pointed their guns at Arcann.

My favorite has been a mix of both. Like choosing to keep Dramath imprisoned, but also teaming up with Arcann.

As much as I dislike SWTOR, Arcaan is a really good written character.
Right? SWTOR isn't perfect, but it definitely has it's good parts.
Arcann is like zuko from avatar both mentally and physically
its almost as if the writers just watched last airbender and said, ok its star wars now
The problem with that is that all the thousands of enemies everywhere respawn every two minutes or so and the immersion is broken when you go back to old planets and see all the things you did changed nothing. I'm still hoping for a Kotor 3.
siegeghost100 Well that is so you ca. go back an grind some xp to level and not leave each planet a barren wasteland. planets like Hoth and Tatotine would have huge barren gaps without respawns.
I wish I played my story this way. Dark Side in this story turns whole campaign into bloody family tragedy. I like when my character is Badass and inspires fear and respect but in KOTET, Dark Side just seems wrong. I feel more sad than satisfied after finishing it with Pure Dark Side way. I wish that replay option of each chapter would completely alter all choices made in KOTFE and KOTET.
The other problem with The Dark Side path in this expansion is that pursuing The Eternal Throne feels more like replacing one tyrant with another rather than a meaningful victory.
Cole Jordan That's exactly why this expansion actually works. Even though the story hits the same beats, your choices change your characters approach drastically
and thats why i never do100% pure anything.

For my story, I went usually dark side, but occasionally went for light side options.
@@MrJordwalk that's actually why i take the throne-to keep another tyrant from taking it. personally, i think not taking it is a more meaningless victory in the long run-you're just leaving the throne wide open for someone like vaylin or her father
I love Arcann. I mean, I'm obsessed with him. I've a thing for people who are badly raised and just become the victim of everything. Didn't know love from their role model and just got consumed by anger and pushed to their limits. And I immediately felt a connection to him. It wasn't really him. Not his true self. And that's apparent at the end. And honestly, after all he endured, he deserved redemption. Atleast to me. And it's why I recruited him. He didn't deserve death despite what he's done because I know he acted on emotions. And his voice. People say it doesn't fit? It's perfect to me. Deep..powerful..mysterious. That is what arcann is. And I love him for that.

David Most of my characters are grey for this very reason. I never want to feel like I need to chose an option simply because it is light or dark.

Henrik Knudsen Of course I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that in the case of Revan's (and Arcann's) part of it is the story's Star Wars themes as much as if not more than the fact that they are characters in BioWare games.
Star Wars has two major themes: family and redemption. The story arc for KOTFE and KOTET is no different.

Choose all the light side endings. Also let Arcann and Senya escape at the end of Kotfe and side with Senya at the beginning of Kotet
I can confirm that shooting at Senya at the end of KOTFE doesn't matter. As long as you help Senya 'redeem' him on Voss , you'll eventually recruit him.

Was that little scar why Arcann wore that hideous mask? It only drew more attention to his injury than the scar itself would have.
i personally loved the mask. There is a short story on this, which explains that the mask was made to intimidate, rather than actually because of hiding injuries
It looked worse when he got it on Korriban. I suppose it mostly healed up to this point.

Actually, his injuries were extremely severe. With Senya healing ritual, most of his face was healed into what we see without the mask.
I love how Arcann looks without his mask, but the voice acting does not suit how he looks at all :(
Saffron Polando I found of weard to when u first was thexan and then Arcann but then u thought nah they are valkorion's sons and bus voice is verry havy but i think that if you do or like this Vaylins voice should be havy to.
Same, I was originally excited when I found out that they had Three Dog's voice actor from fallout voicing him. Though now its become very apparent that his voice doesn't suit Arcann at all.

Its a shame you can't make him Darkside tho. I mean, in my first playthrough of both KOTFE and KOTET, as darkside char, I always felt it wrong when Valkoryon was trying to manipulate me into killing his own children. I mean he's twisted... thing. But they're still his children why would he want me to kill them? And I'm a smart Sith, he wont lurre me into all this "the throne is yours" even tho I want it. It had to be part of his plan. So, I decided not to kill Arcann but it really felt bad tho cuz new Arcann isn't Darkside at all.
I know both these expansions realisation feel a bit rushed. I mean my main Char is Assassin Sith and we literaly have no doubleblade killing animation in cinematics. I lost several hands over there lol. But it would have been so great if we could have taken advantage of Arcann's defeat to, you know do dark side user stuff, and go into his mind to break him even more, make him our new puppet, and manipulating him into dark side. Plus, new Arcann wouldn't join dark side since he's new Arcann.
The worst being I did the same mistake with Theron. Now he's fighting Republic... I guess my Assassin Sith isn't that much a bad guy lol.
That should make survivors of 5 planets Arcann bombed to dust feel better.

6 Chapters in so far and no returning old Companions yet! I'm so giddy with anticipation!
Still hopeful that Elara Dorne, Risha or Kira Carson makes a return before this expac ends. Those three were my favorite companions and it sucks that they haven't made any impact on the story yet.

That’s what I never got. The mask was a tool for him to fight more effectively not symbolic. Casting it aside as symbolic for casting aside his former self is fool hardy.
If that’s the case he should tear off his robotic arm too.
Vader wouldn’t remove his armor as symbolic to turning to the light as it’s literally his life support - sure maybe find an alternative that’s not so imposing.
Reminds me of the comic which literally made him a white suite of Darth Vader armor showing his defection to the rebels and redemption to the light

Revan Well the dark side choice in my opinion for chapter 6 dealing with Arcann in chapter 6 makes it worth it. It feels better than doing him in.

I'll admit. The main reason I spared him was because I was not killing Senya. I liked her FAR too much. Would have loved an option to tell Arcann that he had better be nice to his mommy, since she's the only reason he's still breathing.

Are the only choices regarding Arcan killing him or recruiting? I've only ever killed him and while letting him live seems an interesting option I don't see any of even my Light Side characters trusting or liking him enough to let him on the team.

@@xLetalis Ah... pity. I suppose its an unpopular opinion but I've never felt sympathetic towards him or understood why he 'deserves' another chance at redemption as Senya keeps repeating.
@@Qualimar No clue if it's an unpopular opinion or not, but it's definitely the smarter one. Even if someone sees Arcann in a more sympathetic or tragic light, recruiting him would just be suicide. Like all those people who suffered so terribly as a result of him or even actively fought against him, are just going to be fine with him walking free and fighting alongside them? It's pretty silly.
Also hard agree he doesn't actually deserve to be forgiven at all, trauma is an explanation not an excuse. The idea that he should escape consequences because he's sad (after being forced to stop) is dumb, dude already had his second chance when his Valkorion was killed.
I play dark side but I still redeem him, it's his choice and he deserves at least that.

This game looks SO GOOD!!!!! Made by Bioware, the team behind GREAT Role Playing Games such as "Mass Effect" and "Dragon Age". What could possibly go wrong? The only thing that I have to be upset about, I just hope that one day, Lucas Arts/Disney Interactive and Bioware will make a console port. Other than that, it's a GREAT way to create the Star Wars Legend of your wildest dreams.

Damn, I just killed Arcann for the first time on my dark side inquisitor, now I needed to see his redemption again to feel at peace with myself. Redeemed him myself two times already, but it just didn't feel right for a dark side sith character. I wish so much that there was a way to "dominate" him into submission while keeping him darksided.

So Arcann feels like shit for all the blood that is on his hands, yet even if you play as a dark side character who also has blood on their hands Arcann still considers you a more worthy emperor.
