Also, the shock and horror on Kaliyo's face and the stare Agent gave to Aric were simply two best facial expressions I've seen in SWTOR. Just everything sticks in this scene and makes it extra disturbing. :o

The person you love tells you with 100% seriousness to trust his judgement then you disobeyed without a second thought(especially if your husband is a psychotic traumatized killer). I always thought of my agents romance with her as a sort of controlling mechanism on her, in order to keep her in line. This was the point where he realized that no manipulations would ever keep her in line properly, that she was more of a liability than an asset, so he ended her.

Mako is an analytical tech savant with mysterious origins and Kaliyo will do just about anything for money, including selling one of her old friends to slavers/bounty hunters. I can't believe a secret agent would ever associate with someone so destructive and completely unable to follow orders. She has her own agenda and she doesn't care if she fucks up your mission while completing it.
I don't mind. I imagine a good agent knowing how to take advantage of chaos that such a loose cannon can induce. That's how Kaliyo fits in with agent's story. Mako on the other hand is an excellent "guy in the chair", a necessary supplementary character for a lone hero like bounty hunter.

You know, it is kind of cruel to shoot Kaliyo in the stomach instead of choosing the head for a quick death what is normally done in an execution process. But after all she did to the agent and the alliance she deserved nothing better. The agent is truly the must fitting character for this. They both have a long history together and he knows what a lying, backstabbing and dangerous person she is. She never fit into the role of an agent partner. To aggressive, to loud and to selvish to work for a higher purpose. She cared only for herself and her problems and used the agant to gain her goals. He gave her more than a second chance during the storyline to get in line and eventually become a better person than the selfish mess she was when they met. As he said, the alliance was the last chance for her and she messed up again. He knew she would have been to dangerous to excuse her actions or simply get her banned from the alliance. No, he had to make sure that she never will be a problem again. And as a player it was very satisfying for me to see her dying like this. She always felt something like immortal and save in all she did and said. That the agent pulled a blaster on her and shot her in the next moment was the last thing she expected. The horror and pain she must have felt as she was fading away like a wounded animal - she had it coming for all the horror she did to other people, even to civillians and so called "friends".
When I got the chance to kill her, I didn't hesitate for a second. My agent brought her into the Empire, gave her a job and security, even his trust, and she threw it all back in his face. Using him to carry out her petty vendettas, selling secrets and getting huffy when he objected. Kaliyo was like a spoilt child who had never been told 'no', and it cost her. She was a self-serving psychopath who would sell out her own mother for a fistful of credits. From the moment my agent met her, there was only one way things would end...

(And if you do her companion quests she almost gets you killed, multiple times, for no real benefit to the empire) If anything the Eternal empire arc makes MORE sense to have her around than the original class arc did because you are scraping the bottom of the barrel, whereas in the class arc you could hypothetically have anyone assist you, so why would you keep her.

Haven't even finished act 1 of the IA story and I already looking forward to this moment, honestly if I could kill her or lose her as a companion sooner I would. Such a bad choice they made sticking this chick with you through like 5 or 6 planets before you get a new story one.

Kalyio is honestly one of the worst TOR ever to exist. She has no redeeming qualities. She basically uses the agent to kill all the people SHE has wronged and she laters betrays the agent. Hell she wanted you to kill her ex boyfriend because he wanted her to come back him. What a heartless bitch. On my next KOFTE playthrough she is dead At least when Quinn betrays you he had no choice. Kaliyo however had plenty of choices.
I thought after everything you had been through, it would've caused her to soften up and learn to care about others. But then this happened and out all that potential development went.

Personally, i can relate with a villain, or someone inmoral, when the character is interesting or is well done, precisely because i find fascinating extreme personalities, and the question they can raise about the individual, yourself, society, or whatever, the complexity and greys we normally aren't allowed to consider in real life with such extreme things. Those views are something difficult or imposible to do in real life (specially now in social media), because raise those question with real murderers, dictators or whatever could have easily moral, political, ideological, etc implication. That is why i consider of value fiction. The possibility of watching a dictator or a cold blooded killer, reach him, understand their reasons of doing that (that not mean necessarily defend or share) and see "the other point", without having to do it in reality. As a fun and fascinating journey that defy normality and can make a world or a history more interesting. That is my vision, influenced by my liking of history. And in history, most of characters will never share the same morals standards that you have. That is the interesting part of "enter" in that "world". To really understand them you have to share their view, try to put yourself in their shoes. Obviously, that not have to transform you in whatever they were. For me, is the same with fiction. That is way a think, our western morals are good, most of them at least, and to some context and stories, are ok and good. But to other stories, context or whatever, no limits should be established, i think.
That is kinda the point. It's the class with the most chances to sleep around, flirt and seduce, that section of it is basically Evil James Bond in Space, while the class story itself is Evil Jason Bourne in Space.

kaliyo was mine constant reminder of how player, not the storyline, should choose which companions the player wants to have.
If you want a power fantasy, yes, if you want a realistic war story , even if it is fiction like this, WRONG.
@@thanatoswaker2778 I am leaning towards they meant the ORIGINAL agent questline where you HAVE a dialogue option to kill her WAYYY back on Hutta when first meeting her (she knows you aren't who you say you are, could have compromised mission)...but then the game railroads you into keeping her, despite the fact she does cause issues and disagreements often. (And if you do her companion quests she almost gets you killed, multiple times, for no real benefit to the empire)
If anything the Eternal empire arc makes MORE sense to have her around than the original class arc did because you are scraping the bottom of the barrel, whereas in the class arc you could hypothetically have anyone assist you, so why would you keep her.

@@optimaltt6070 I mean if we're talking about a secret agent who wouldn't take anyone he didn't find efficient or useful, then yeah it's pretty different. Dark side agent in this game definitely isn't the type to bring someone they deem a liability into the field. Or even light side for that matter. Sort of the same with Sith since their whole existence is about not being weak.

She basically uses the agent to kill all the people SHE has wronged and she laters betrays the agent. Hell she wanted you to kill her ex boyfriend because he wanted her to come back him. What a heartless bitch. On my next KOFTE playthrough she is dead
At least when Quinn betrays you he had no choice. Kaliyo however had plenty of choices.
Quinn most certainly had a choice but it was his reasons for choosing poorly that made sense.
Not only that, you can argue that what Quinn does isn't actually betrayal. His loyalty is to the empire, not to you personally.
I thought after everything you had been through, it would've caused her to soften up and learn to care about others. But then this happened and out all that potential development went.

@@tenarmurk The option was there in the first/test version of the game but it was removed because at that time the companion's roles were fixed and killing Quinn would mean killing your only healer.
@@Kubinda12345 hopefully they'll bring it back since the companion roles are interchangeable. I never hated Quinn but man did I want to kill him on that mission, I'll replay the Sith warrior just for that

@Aronco If you prefer to think that way, you are welcome, but I wrote because I find it rare, but also a little disturbing. By that criteria, we shouldnt play to any games or watch any movie were a protagonist do something even just a little inmoral or questionable because.......I certainly dont know. It is inmoral to treat a fictional character that do not exist in a way that our society do not allow......that is precisely one of the things people try to achieve by fiction. To see thing that do not exist, cant do or arent allow to do or see. It is an interesting way looking at fiction as it was real, and apply the rules of reality because of that. Interesting yet disturbing for the censorship possibilities that way can take easily. Like complain that a game allow you to kill your girlfriend for wathever reason.
At least, you seems to not censor lightly, and that I have to respect. You show respect for other. opinion.
@Aronco I mostly agree with everything you have said here. Personally, i can relate with a villain, or someone inmoral, when the character is interesting or is well done, precisely because i find fascinating extreme personalities, and the question they can raise about the individual, yourself, society, or whatever, the complexity and greys we normally aren't allowed to consider in real life with such extreme things. Those views are something difficult or imposible to do in real life (specially now in social media), because raise those question with real murderers, dictators or whatever could have easily moral, political, ideological, etc implication. That is why i consider of value fiction. The possibility of watching a dictator or a cold blooded killer, reach him, understand their reasons of doing that (that not mean necessarily defend or share) and see "the other point", without having to do it in reality. As a fun and fascinating journey that defy normality and can make a world or a history more interesting.
That is my vision, influenced by my liking of history. And in history, most of characters will never share the same morals standards that you have. That is the interesting part of "enter" in that "world". To really understand them you have to share their view, try to put yourself in their shoes. Obviously, that not have to transform you in whatever they were. For me, is the same with fiction. That is way a think, our western morals are good, most of them at least, and to some context and stories, are ok and good. But to other stories, context or whatever, no limits should be established, i think.

That is kinda the point. It's the class with the most chances to sleep around, flirt and seduce, that section of it is basically Evil James Bond in Space, while the class story itself is Evil Jason Bourne in Space.

No, but Agent does it even more than the Smuggler lol. And the Smuggler is at least legit about it, most of the Agent's sleeping around is a means to an end, and he ends up killing a few of those he sleeps with even.
