- The Necrons and Mechanicum return in Mechanicus 2.
In an exciting addition for the sequel, players will not just be battling as the Adeptus Mechanicus against the awakening of a Necron tomb world, but will also be able to fight as the Necrons for the resurgence of their dynasty , with both sides now fully playable over multiple campaigns.
Strategic gameplay is again at the forefront of the action, with players able to manage their territories’ garrisons and assemble forces for each mission, choosing from a vastly expanded selection of fighters from each faction’s range. New environmental mechanics will also require players to maneuver their forces like never before and play to their chosen faction’s strengths and weaknesses - take cover behind terrain as the Mechanicus, or destroy it as the Necrons.

Yes we are. Although the first Mechanicus game also was a rock solid one. Elevated to shiny adamantium by a soundtrack truly inspired by the Omnissiah!

@@silvercat18people wanted Tomb Kings in space, so now we have Necron characters with lore and free will. Not complaining, it's more interesting than mindless robots controlled by an alien entity( which they still 99% are tbf). The fact they waged a war for millions of terran years against the Old Ones and ended up enslaving stellar super beings is awesome .

Love how the dialog is so similar! Really emphasizes the relationship the AdMech and the Necrons have with one another
It's a real "will they, won't they" relationship.
Admech and Necrons are one of the most fascinating relationships in 40k imo. They are so similar in so many ways yet fundamentally different that conflict is inevitable between the two.
There is an actual clash of ideas and beliefs between the two that is more complex than Imperium vs Chaos routine.
For the best of everyone involved, hopefully "won't they".
If AdMech, Necrons and Dark Eldar one day realise that they have a shared goal, everyone else is in trouble. @@comack669

The difference between "for the machine is immortal" and "for we are immortal" hits hard.
OMFG! I love how this whole trailer was just one giant mirror of the original. Everything that was said by the tech-priest was echoed by the Necron Lord, and the best part of it all is that it's SO IN CHARACTER of the Necrons. Probably the single biggest reason why we love this dynamic and rivalry so much.
Wasn’t sure the first made enough money for a sequel. So happy they did. Mechanicus are so interesting

That music, oh my dear lord, it's still amazing! Hope the game is as great as the first one, too, but it's so good that they're staying true to the fantastic music and atmosphere that was such a integral part of the last game. It was one of the best 40k adaptations ever in that regard.

The AdMech - Necron dynamic is, personally, the most enticing chunk of lore to come out of all of 40K. I've never had a particular interest in the 40ksphere, but the uniqueness of the Mechanicus and their rather ironic contrast with the Necrons has me enthralled. Just these two factions could hold up an entre sci-fi universe by themselves.
The music is beyond perfect. When I become world emperor, they will author the songs that are sung.
