@@MyCommentsRMaturelol Not totally clear on my Necron fluff, but as I understand it the Necrons built a new WMD that was totally gonna be used in the service of the C'Tan, really, I promise. Then when it came time to test it, they pointed it at the nearest C'Tan, nuked him, and trapped the now dead god's fragments for various uses, and then proceeded to do the same to the others

@@definitelyaperson6334 not really due to the fact that when both necrons and tyranids die neither of them contribute anything to the warp. The only soul is that of the hive mind which if it did die would probably create another chaos god but the war in heaven created 3 of the 4 existing chaos gods and when the necrons went to slumber the eldari became stagnant and decadent thus leading to slanesh being born.

Not only do they warn them they also give the local inhabitants 90 planet rotations to either evacuate the planet or prepare their defenses for honorable combat. Once combat protocol are engaged the necrons only have 100 planet rotations to take the planet. If they fail to do so, the foe is considered a worthy advisory and are given 30 more plant rotations to prepare for an all out necron unslaught. If they manage to defeat them, the necrons will pass the planet over and continue reconquering else where.
I love how necrons call Omnissiah the "False Machine" even tho it can be the bloody C'tan Void Dragon
ctans are made flesh by the necrons. the necrons created necrodermis bodies for the star vampires (creating what is know as the ctan) and in turn, they were given the secret to immortality and turned the tides of the war against the old ones. however, like a faustus deal, they got what they wanted, but lost everything else.

I am actually happy with the current state where out of deep regret the silent king leads a good portion of the necrons as good guys who are by far the least evil faction
Seriously, The Silent King just wants to fuck off Chaos, fuck off the Nids, fuck off the Orcs, fuck off the Eldar (pointy eared bastards deserve it), then fix his fuck up in allowing biotransferance in the first place by giving his people back healthy bodies and souls.
Plus he actually tried to ally with humanity before during M31, he actually reached out to Sanguinius and has often been seen wearing a mask that depicts Sanguinius's more angelic vissage.
Szarrack is a good boy who just wants what is best for his people.

@@neros1277 you’re thinking of the Necron as a unified race with a single goal. Until the return of the Silent king they were acting as numerous Dynasties. The literally had their souls eaten and put into metallic bodies and fought the war in heaven for who knows how long until being put to sleep. Plus’s most Necron don’t even have personalities anymore and are little more than suped up Servitors. Having a disdain for other life goes all the way back to when they were just edgy Necrontyre who wigged out after seeing that every other race got a better deal than they did. It’s really only the silent king who has the goal of reversing Biotransferrence Which he needs other living races to do. Even if the Nids pass them by without other life to experiment with his ultimate goal will be unattainable.

I mean the SK is basically cool with the newbs and just wants to get souls back to his people... and kill the nids, by uniting everything in the galaxy to fight them and then after that, fight chaos... hell I bet if you ASKED him for a pass to go wake up the tombs(without being killed) he would give you the go ahead and give you an upgrade to boot... as an AdMech I’m in, as an imperial I’m throwing the rules out the window hard enough to kill the sector’s inquisition

Fun Fact, the Necrons actually posses the technology to cockblock the warp and chaos entirely.
And in this game, we see a prototype of a next-gen version of it. Moreso, if we play the Necron campaign, we put this prototype in action, closing the Eye of Terror permanently in process.

I remember when I started playing 40k almost 20 years ago tyranids were the galaxies biggest threat and now necrons are the new face of bad for games workshop... back then necrons barely had any units! Crazy.
Old canon: Necrons were a people that lost their bodies and souls to obtain mortality, feeding their souls and will to infinitely-hungry gods, that they themselves made sentient. Within their new immortal bodies, they would wage war against all, destroying countless civilizations, feeding these souls to their ever-hungering gods. But soon, little life was left to feast on, and their gods no longer relished in great feasts. And so, they were put to sleep, as their gods patiently waited for new souls to come into existence, to breed, to prepare themselves to be eaten once more by the infinitely-patient gods of the Necron.
GW: Huh... that makes them too OP.
New canon: Uh... the necrons, despite having no will or soul, decided to fight back against their gods, broke them into pieces, spread their powers among themselves, and uh... decided to war with themselves? Yeah, yeah, that's the only way they got weakened. And then, they beat themselves up too much, that they had to take a long nap. But some people Indiana Jones'ed their place and they were like "nuh uh, I woke".

I figure that ship is along the lines of Stargate Atlantis' city-ship, where it is primarily the Phaeron's mobile city/research center/manufacturing center, with some defensive weapons.
Take the numbers for an Imperial Warship, and imagine what would happen if the Necrons made their version:
- Warp Drive -> Necron FTL engine
- Void Shields -> Necron shield and living armor tech
- weapons -> Necron version of the weapons
- sensors -> Necron sensors
- crew -> Necron Warriors and various Canoptek units (imagine the Necrons sending over Wraiths as a boarding force)
etc . . .

I would have loved to have seen the shocked faces of those who witnessed the stasis tombs open for the first time in eons after repeated failed attempts to open them.
Not just centuries of war. Eons. The Necrontyr fought through dozens of generations of their people in the War in Heaven before they became the Necrons, and even after that it took many millennia more. The war was so long, in fact, that the Old Ones were able to create an entire race, the Eldar, and allow them to develop their own society and culture fully on their homeworld before inducting them into the War in Heaven as allies, and this was only done *after* the Old Ones started to lose to the Necrons. Same with the Krork, and many other species who didn't survive the war.

I'd love to see what necrons original form looked like before they transfered
Cancerous and suffering, due to their star. I'd expect a few Necrons would be willing to keep their metal bodies for long-term survival and exploration prospects, while renting custom organic bodies for the few times they want sensation. A fancier version of Mindshackle scarabs similar to the organic computers from the movie Gamer.
The necrons sure picked a hell of a time to wake up.

I think the necrons main weakness is that, while their armies are near endless and unmarred by the passage of time, they have no way to replace their losses. So, perhaps poetically, while it may take more cycles of statis and reawakening, skipping millennia, eventually they will all be gone

1:00 to 1:25 - This part goes REALLY hard and dark.
Imagine being part of a race that was cursed with an awful, short cancer-ridden life, to the point your world is one giant dark mausoleum. You're lucky if you live past your teenage years. Then you meet the immortals creators of life itself, and beg them to correct this awful injustice, only to be scoffed at. They will not grant you immortality, and not even correct your biological flaws so you can have a long life like the Eldar. For the Necrontyr, the Old Ones were the closest things to Gods (until the C'tan were discovered), and the Gods essentially laughed at their misery and closed the door on their faces.
The stories always talk about many Necrontyr being dragged in chains into biotransference. But you can imagine that a huge portion of these guys were willingly marching into the furnaces with gritted teeth, clenched fists and blood in their eyes, consumed by rage and the desire for vengeance, uncaring of what that meant so long they could slaughter every last Old One.
That was the last thing most of the Necrontyr felt before biotransference made them cold and hollow forever: Pure, unadultered rage and despair.
