The guardsman doing CPR in front of a chaos knight needs a raise
Well if you can't fight a Chaos Knight and your only hope of survival is that the guys who have the guns to take it down come quickly, you can spend the time useful doing other stuff like giving first aid to a comrade or shooting at people your gun can actually kill.

Those ships are pretty large, so scale throws things off. It's at least 10+ kilometers up. Still, bonkers how close that is way too close to have a stable orbit without some bonkers engines.

@cullenkelley4828 hahah it's more in Warhammer Lore, you can't do this because planetary gravity causes weird stuff to happen with warp translation. Like exploding, or translating into the crust of the planet. Which is why there are established points where translation can occur, called Mandeville points.
@@cullenkelley4828 not really, the battleships are generally "only" 5km long, exception being the very few Gloriana class battleships that were around 20km, and even fewer survived to 41st millenium.
I love how they actually had medics and casual evacuations going on, they went with real guard and not meme guard.. respect and wickedly awesome

@@MWPickle The Comissar's main job is to guide and to inspire. If you're wounded in combat you clearly did your duty. Executing wounded soldiers is contraproductive and only earns you the ire of your own troops. Most Comissar know this.
It was neat, aye, though still a bit too much meme guard. Blindly charging, only a few tactical usages of cover and the heavy support was a joke.
Not saying that the animation in itself was bad, only that the guard took more casualties than necessary.

Hands down the greatest ARMA machinima creator in the world. The production is so good it's hard to believe the majority was "filmed" in ARMA. The added VFX was a cherry on the cake.

Ah. That would also explain why i thought some of the animations were a bit stiff and didn't provide the weight it needed for some of the weapons. Insanely great both vfx and sfx work though. Very impressed indeed
I've never seen Arma be so convincly not Arma, while I figured it out as soon as I saw character animations as some of them are very uniquely tied to Arma, I was truly questioning if this was done in Arma or a Professional Animation software for a minute there, FANTASTIC job.
At one point I found myself questioning whether or not it was Arma or just a similar animation style, then I realised I was missing the fantastic action!
It's honestly quite spectacular.
Yeah the only way I figured out it was ArmA was some very specific medic animations and the part when the tank blew up. Apart from that its very hard to tell.

In the audiobooks, Tanith troops have a Welsh accent, and all those odd cultural terms lacking English vowels like cwlwhl and Huhlhwch are plainly meant to make us think of Welsh. The names and customs are a scramble of Welsh, Scots, and Irish, to be fair. I think Dan Abnett was just going for "vaguely Celtic".

This is beyond incredible work. The fact you were able to provide a cohesive plot with only a minimal number of named characters says a great deal. This is even before getting into the large scale battles you were able to animate. It has been a long time since I saw a 40k adaptation that had me going "oh SHIT" every other minute. That final speech by the traitor cardinal and the reveal was also PEAK. Absolutely outstanding. I cannot wait for more.
Seeing a lot of 40k animations starting to trickle out of the warp. After all these years of using my imagination when fighting with my little plastic models it makes me happy to see animators turn their attention to the grim dark future of the 41st Millennium.
This is an obvious labor of love. Tons of respect. If GW nukes this I will immediately buy a 3D scammer and mass upload all of my armies. Please never stop creating.

Despite the rules against fan animations, I've never heard of them actually taking down animations themselves.
Like the reuploads of SODAZ'S animations have hundreds of thousands of views and haven't been taken down.
They are working with the Astartes fellow. So let's give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

For a group so proud about being 'chaotic' and 'full of potential' they seem to have put a lot of effort on organizing massive logistics and having their troops follow orders from superiors.
I was thinking the same thing. For wanting to bring down the "illusion of order" their troops do keep good, tight ranks.
that the blood pact, a very infamous khorne's faction of traitor guardsman know for their discipline akin to the imperial guard, and are not alone in that case.
To quote the 4th edition rulebook regarding Chaos Space Marines, insanity has done nothing to erode their intelligence, nor their skill at arms.
Not only is the animation great, but major kudos to the voice actors as well!
I believe the animation is actually the Arma 3 engine. Looks similar to me at least. But yeah, they did an amazing job!
The aerial views of the ships prowling low orbit and the squadrons of Valkyries and vultures flying over the destroyed city looked _REALLY_ good. Top notch work 😎🤯

Brilliantly voiced. I loved the Armigier fight, it's easy to think of them as just the smallest knights but you managed to make it clear that they're a huge (and terrifying) problem for infantry. Can't wait for part 2!

God in reference to the God Emperor, clearly. There is only one god, after all, and he sits upon the Golden Throne on Holy Terra.
There were a couple of language point that I thought were off. this and no blessings before launching, no mention that the mission was a holy one etc. The dialogue has a lot less Faith based material than other works. really good overall though.

I love the interplay. Usually in these kinds of shorts you first have one team dominating and then the next one. This is a far more varied way of showing people winning and losing.
Honestly this was great. You can tell some passion went into this. Can't wait for part 2

@@joseestevezhernandez558 Both sides are actually idiots with guns pretending to be soldiers, guardsmen are just charging through enemy defensive line without cover, fire suppression, or trench... And then resorted to melee fighting once they got close enough after a bunch of them dying in a meat grinder, but this is just a fan made animation after all. It's all about the rule of cool.

6/10. Good: Nailed the scale that 40k aims for. Art direction is appropriately gritty. Voice acting is good, music is great. Story is very appropriate
Bad: Most of the issues with this video are rooted in the technical ability of the creator(s). I am not mocking them, let me be clear. Especially given the number of character models, this is quite an achievement. Examples of this include the deployment of the Armiger which is implied to come from orbit but no landing is shown, or even a falling object. The sound design for the weapons lacks diversity or appropriate impact. Overall I'm happy to have watched the video, and I hope the person(s) behind it continue to do so and improve their work.

I have such a soft spot for any kind of conflict the Guardsmen find themselves in. This is the kind of stuff I love. If only GW would take note and make more things like this and Astartes and less of the garbage they've been putting out on their terrible streaming platform. Great work my man, and phenomenal job by everyone involved! My usual gripe with fanmade products is the visuals will be stunning but VA's failing to deliver, however this was not the case. Everything looks and sounds like it belongs and I want more of it
