    Very helpful! I had no idea and just received my carbon yesterday. Ughhh. I'll be testing now... Thanks!

    Short video this week. I had surgery for my hand earlier this week so I couldn't do anything on my v0, and probably won't be able to do much for a week or two either. I am planning on making a long rambly video about the moving plan, date, content on the channel when I'm moving, also probably an update about my hand (hopefully the last time I have to talk about it) and probably more topics. It probably will be the next video, and after that, the next v0 episode.

    I'm kinda impressed it's 20 minutes what it takes

    I guess another way would be to place in water and then use a litmus paper to measure acidity?

    The question that comes to mind for me: Is it really a great idea to have tiny particles of carbon dispersed into an air stream, acidic or not? I mean, people are concerned about microparticles of filament being released as part of the extrusion process, but here we have a fan actively mixing air with the source of these particles. Yeah, I get that the Voron enclosure is supposed to be "closed", but...

      Better than plastic fumes. Also, the HEPA filter should catch them anyway. Nevermore Max has a HEPA filter after the carbon and the creator of Nevermore recommends using the stock Voron exhaust filter in combination with the Nevermore Micro.

    great video - have u tried washing the carbon in bicarbonate of soda water! or simply soaking and washing it a few times! (can use distilled wwater to not waste lifespan of carbon)

      I don't think I'm going to try anything else. I'll just wait until I can buy the correct type.

    Interesting video. I didn't even know this is an issue. Is there a way to tell if the carbon is acidic before buying?

      I think you need to ask the seller or just buy known good ones. Finding the right ones is difficult afaik. There's more info on the nm micro github.

    What about soaking the carbon in water and testing the pH with pH paper , is that not a viable option ? I would think if it's going to be acidic enough to rust the screws it would make the paper acid too ?

    • @IsiksTech
      @IsiksTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe. Obviously water will dilute it so I don't know if it will be acidic enough.

    • @ViniSuguimoto
      @ViniSuguimoto หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, this method is viable. The standard method is 4g of activated carbon (powder or ground) in 100ml of water, after boiling for 5 minutes, wait to reach room temperature, then measure the PH

    What is the correct brand to get? I have been looking for acid free stuff for my voron that is almost done and I can't find it anywhere?

      I think there are a few brands but I don't know their names. The nevermore repo might have their names. There's also the nevermore branded active carbon. deepfriedhero.in/products/nevermore-printer-carbon?aff=6
