Definitely will keep my eye on this. I love the additional USB ports I've found I'm out of with adding my stealthmaxs. My next mod for my 350, is considering stealth changer. Just trying to figure out how /where to have a breakout for can/USB toolheads since the exhaust port is taken by the stealthmax

This seems like a good fit for stealthchanger. I'd make a moar board that could accomidate 4 more heads at minimum for this. It should start taking off as a real option as the tool changers come closer to mainstream. The current max is 6 print heads.

Why not use a USB C jumper to the USB C port on the Pi4? I recall it being able to be set to be a USB Port. But it might only be for gadget mode and I might be mistaken. I know that the PiKVM project uses it in this way.

ive just given mailsail and fluid a go, it was an absolute pain as i couldntdo i what i wanted particularly with LEDs and use of other RPI gpio pins so im back to octoprint and might side load mailsail for ease of use for a few nice features

Does this use the Peak/PCAN Basic API? ISO 11898-1? I'm interested in writing a Can-Bus program to display data.. however, the tricky part seems to be finding hardware that can easily be configured to filter messages of interest, so that the software doesn't have to do so much checking. For example, I'd like Standard Can Ids 0x40-0x4F go to Mailboxes 0-0xF.. or maybe even more complicated Acceptance Mask/Codes like only save to Mailbox5 when Can-Id 0x45 has Data Bytes 0 & 1 = 0x55AA. Do you know of any utility tool that might be useful to in creating filters? PSOC Creator, GH Lauszus/CANBusFilterMaskGenerator_py ?

Very cool video! About the Awd synchronization is very easy, you just loosen the pulleys on 1 of each “X/Y” motors, power all the steppers on then tighten the pulleys. You should do your PCB 36v capable so if you want to use 36v with 2240 drivers you can. I have tmc2240 with 36v on my V0 and it made a noticeable improvement on max speeds/accelerations

I’m doing similar but 48v and Kraken. Haven’t considered can for the AB drives because of the added voltage. Have you thought about doing 4x EBB 42’s mounted to each stepper? That would eliminate your potential shorting to the gantry concern and give you more flexibility in your wiring.

Why don’t you do beacon or cartographer/idm instead of tap? Tap have a lot of moving parts and like you pointed out magnets that can pop out.

If you end up using the MMB, make sure to flash new firmware to it before connecting motors to it. There's a risk of burning a motor if you don't. The issue has to do with UCPD being enabled and putting a pull down on one of the motor_en outputs. I found out the hard way on my ERCF😕

Sadly this clamp doesn't work on the Creality Sprite extruder - I'm playing with some ideas for mounting but the hotend fan seems to generate a crazy amount of noise on the sensor. I'm having a really hard time getting a good read out on it in Klipper.

Hi! I'm building a mini stealthburner from my LDO 0.2 kit. The right-most position of the drive gear (Bondtech BMG Shaft Assembly) is still not enough to be centered with the filament path. The tiny set screw doesn't allow to move the gear last 0.2-0.3 mm closer to the white T50 gear, because the flat part of the shaft is too short. Is it a tolerance thing, so I may have better luck ordering a second one or is it an issue with my printed parts? The shaft is 27.56 mm long in total and the shorter part behind the T50 gear was already ~3 mm, so there was no need to sand it down.

i know this was 2 years ago but you can use spaggheti detective (now called obico) with klipper. Mainsail also supports cancel objects alot better than octoprint

I have no idea how anyone builds the max and stealth max. There’s NO documentation of any value at all, no guides (other than this one) etc. No one even answers questions in the never more discord. 🙄

To be honest, Octoprint has a lot more features for control of the printer, timelapse photography, monitoring prints, GCode processing and a lot of other things I likely am not even thinking of, and then the plugins on top of that. Mainsail and Fluidd are great for the basics, but they are not replacements or even comparable to Octoprint. Mainsail and Fluidd are great UI's and amazing if you just want a graphical UI and remote printing, but they really are like comparing apples to oranges. They really are not the same control and monitoring that Octoprint does.

With the Kusba, any version, could one be installed and just left installed permanently on the printer, or is it better not to?
