Back story on the Beatles version...Paul McCartney wrote it during the Civil rights movement. They were disgusted by the racism in America especially over Segregation in the South. They refused to perform in the south because they wanted everyone of all colors and ethnicities to be able to sit together and enjoy the music. In London at the time young women were referred to as birds. Hence the title Blackbird. Give it a listen. It has always been my favorite Beatles song and knowing the meaning behind it made me love it even more.
You should check out the band Tremonti, it’s the lead guitarist’s solo project where he’s lead guitar and vocals. It’s much heavier than Alter Bridge or Creed.
