- Welcome to my channel!
My name is Rod Jones. I'm a 5th generation farmer and KC-135 pilot in the Ohio Air National Guard.
I was Active Duty Air Force for 16 years and have been with the Ohio Air National Guard for 4 years.
If you, or anyone you know, may be be interested in military service, please send me an email and I will be happy to offer my thoughts/experiences from the past 20 years.

Thanks for another great video. After the second receiver approached and connected I was able to discern the lights on the receptacle and the (tiny) light on the end of the boom. My respect for boomers, which was already pretty high, went off the scale. Best wishes to that young man currently in training, and keep up the great videos and fly safe.
Yep! Pretty amazing what they do.
The reality is setting in that the -135's are approaching their sunset. I have fond memories of SAC and "A" models from my crew chief days with the 379th BW. I'm fortunate to have seen aircraft I've worked on still in service 30 years later.
You may be right, but I've heard the sunset comment for about 15 years now!
She's been a good bird, but all good things must come to an end eventually!
I've worked on many airframes during my tenure as a mechanic, both USAF and civilian. Worked on Boeing, Lockheed and McDonnell-Douglas jets. The KC-135 is still my favorite. I'm a volunteer at the Selfridge Military Air Museum. They have a Reserve "T" model unit there. Looks like they will be trading them in for the KC-46 in the next couple of years.@@ohioflyingfarmer7050
Hey Clark! Great to see another of your videos! Those A-10's are awesome machines, Kudos to you and your crew and I thank you for your service to our Country!
Welcome back, thanks to the chain of command for allowing you to continue posting you positive, informative look inside the Air National Guard. Oh the farm also. LOL
Thank you for doing what you do for us Americans. Carl
Thanks again Carl!
I am a USAF retired avionics technician, and OA-10A was the last airframe I worked on prior to retirement at DMAFB, Tucson, AZ. Almost six years of experience on the OA-10. Love air refueling videos. Thanks.
Thanks for your service William!
Another great video Clark! Thank you and your crew for all you do to keep us all safe! Merica!
Thanks again Ronnie!
Thanks for another good video. I get to see things I will never get to experience. Thank You
Thanks Don! It's an honor for me to serve and share my experiences with you guys!
I think I could fly as long as I don’t have to worry about anything on dash or anything else 😂lol awesome video I love the a10 such a great machine that screams firepower thank you all for everything buddy
Yep! The A10 screams 'Merica👊🏼
Another great one even at night!!😉
Thanks Mom❤️
You do good work for the people of this country , some might not agree but when the crap hit's the fan they will be glad to have you around !
Thanks Rod !
It's an honor to serve!
Great to see you putting out videos again. We missed seeing them.
Thanks Steve! It's good to be back!
Any ground pounder that has been deep in it and these guys show up. Love an A-10. I know I do. They saved me twice.
I'd hate to be a bad guy with an A10 overhead!
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 That is for sure. They bring the hurt quick, fast and in a hurry.
good to see you posting, again! Night refueling looks like it takes considerable concentration and skill!
Definitely does for the boom operator and receiver pilot.
Not too much different for the tanker pilots.
I'm so glad you're able to post flying videos again and even happier to hear stories like that young man. I have absolutely no doubt that these videos may help someone to decide if they would like the military or not. Keep up the great work and thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks Kevin! Just trying to do my part to spread the word to the next generation!
Love watching your videos! Makes me proud to be a retired Air Force veteran
Hell yeah!
Another great video!! A-10s at night are tough!
Thanks Ed! As you know, they can be challenging sometimes!
An awesome roll and go takeoff. Be safe out there. Stay focused. Go Army. Sorry.
Hua!
Since day one I've been waiting for one boring, shitty video and still nadda. Lol. Love what you do Rod. Thank you
Hahaha! Give me time Joe! I'm sure i'll throw a "dud" out there sooner or later!
That landing was butter!
Amazing how stable you guys can keep all that metal in the air.
I'll be sure to pass your comment to "Fluffer."
It was all him!
Always one of my favorite things is breaking out on top of the overcast. Beautiful scenery every time.
You got that right! If I stop flying, that'll be the part I miss the most I think!
Great video once again, I'm really enjoying the new uploads!! It's super awesome to hear stories like you shared at the end, I'm sure it makes you feel pretty proud of all the effort you put in for the subscribers. Until next time!
Yes! Stories like that are one of the main reasons I put these videos together!
Another pretty bad ass video. Thank you
Thanks James!
I was really surprised to see that you had posted a video, so glad to see you back on the tube! Thanks
Happy to be back Jon!
If it were easy we'd all be doing it. Thank you for doing what you do, in the air and in the fields. Both are vital for the survival of our republic. That landing was a greaser. Navy pukes would say bravo zulu.
I can't take credit for the landing. That was all the other pilot!
Hey buddy looks like Eddie 62 is flying around you I'm watching on Final Approach FR24
Love your videos. Excellent videography and editing. I was just hired for a UPT spot with a Reserve 135 unit and I am beyond excited!
Awesome! Where did you get hired at?

Ok Sir. I think it’s time we hear from you again. Please
Welcome back. I was getting kind of tired watching the 135's flying over McDonalds in Canal Winchester. I'd rather view your video from INSIDE the aircraft.
Ha! Next time I make a video, I'll try to remember to give you a shout out when we fly over that McDonalds!
Did you mention RedHorse to the new recruit?
Great low light flight!
Merica!👊
I did not! Ive always been biased towards the aviation jobs!
Good video Rod. After many deployments to the ME, the one group you didn’t want to come home with was the A10’s. With our fighter f16 brethren, we could quickly get them back in a reasonable time frame, so we were all in bringing them home. The A10s would increase our redeployment time by 30%, so dragging them across was not something we wanted coming home. Not their fault they fly so slow, but it was always a trial when tasked.
Another great video, keep up the great work
Thanks again Mark!
Good to see ya back bud! Hope your holidays were good. We love our Red Devils out of SANG up here! (If it was the 127th) Really cool to see you working with them! Real interested in how the 127th will like the KC-46A Pegasus that they will be getting to replace their 135's. Stay safe and thank you!
It sure was the 127th!
Thank you for your service! Y'all make a difficult task look easy! Take care....
Thanks Gatorguy! I think most of us take for granted what we get to do everyday!
Great video as usual, was lucky to get a night flight during a Red Flag back in 07 with the WI ANG, just incredible to witness F-16s and F-117s in the black of the desert creep up to the boom. Boomers do a unbelievable job!
Yes, they have a lot going on back there!
Them hawgs must be near full power to keep up
Yep! They're pretty much at full power I think!
Always Clark!
Thanks for the night video.
Know it’s winter time but any updates on the farm (especially the cattle)? Did the cattle barn’s get the upgrade?
Hi Caryn!
Thanks for asking about the farm! Cattle are great! We will be selling last years calves in a couple weeks and then we'll begin to prepare for our new crop of calves towards the end of February. No barn upgrades. We weren't planning on any so maybe i misspoke in one of my earlier videos!
They'll be some farm vids coming soon I hope!
Thanks for the beautiful views O.F.F.!
You're welcome! What does O.F.F. stand for?

@@RGB06084 Ha! Got it!
Awesome merica
👊🏼'Merica
Seems like it's been overcast forever in Mi.
Ohio too! Finally got some sun yesterday.
Can’t see a care for the video on a 360° camera. Makes everything too distorted for me but another great video sir. Thank you very much. America.
Thanks for the feedback! I would tend to agree with you, most of the footage has a "fish-eye" look to it. I do like using it because it allows me to get more footage and angles, plus it reduces the number of times i have to physically reposition a standard go pro.
Yahoo
You will miss this when your time is up
You are 100% correct Gordon!
I guess I'll have a few videos to look back on at least!
Formation flying at night must be a little difficult.
Really not a whole lot different than during the day. The tanker crew just tries to maintain a stable platform for the other guys in the formation.
When you boys getting the KC-46 now that the refueling issues are took care of ?
That's not in our near future.....that I know of!
Where did you go
Be nice if flightradar24 has your route next time live
When are you returning?
Working on a video now!
Thanks for asking!!
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 awesome!
U fly eddie62 today?
23feb24.
Nope. Wasn't me!
Does boomer use nite vision?
Nope!
This is better than porn!
Ha! They say sex sells! Maybe these videos will too!
