@@waldoh5839 hey fam! Yup! This is normal with the ceramic top. We have a “deep clean” video planned soon, the discoloration is normal and not a biggie!
Maybe I am just used to the black stone griddles, but this just looks different…it looks like there is a trade off between the non stick and the black stone…it looks like this is a bit more limiting…what are your thoughts? How was the taste compared to the black stone? What is your recommendation between the two griddles and why? Another banger gents…
Thank you brother! We are still getting used to this and reserving overall thoughts for now, we want to be as honest as possible! This we can say however, there is no difference in the quality of the food, or the cook, which really blew us away! Was there something specific that seemed limiting? By comparison, this is a smaller unit than the one we were using, is that possibly it?
Yum that looked so good! Nice to see Fried Rice can be cooked on non-stick. Man, I can almost smell it from here! I love adding sesame seeds to Asian dishes. Looks amazing! Great job as always. I’ve had my Blackstone 36 inch for three years now and love it but am really considering the Pit Boss. I am wondering though, since I don't have a large family, can you reduce the amount of rice made to be sufficient for a 2 person cook? Appreciate what you guys do! Griddle On!
What is up fam?! Yes! You can make as much/little as you want! If you were doing for 2 people, you could absolutely even do 1-2 cups of rice, and limit the protein, veggies, and sauces - it kind of become an “eyeball” test - hope this helps fam! Guys, Pit Boss needs to come out with a line of utensils that are safe for their non-stick griddles. I want to get one but I'm having issues trying to find the right spatulas, scrapers, etc. Thanks for the video! I really want one!
Wahoo, congratulations! Yes! You want to make sure they can withstand higher heat - I believe most are rated for 500 degrees - we have some that are amazing, but when scraping in the high heat begin to peel just a bit, so we are careful. The new Pit Boss Ultimate Griddle Tool Kit just came out last week, and it is a nylon set of utensils. Hope this helps Dawn!
I’m so glad I found your channel! I just got my first blackstone and I’m trying this recipe! Quick question, when you put the veggies on the side, do you have that far burner on low or is off? Thanks for all the tips! I’ve learned so much!☺️
Wahoo! We’re so glad you found us too!🤗🤗. Thank you so Livy for the love! Okay, we turn the far burner “off” as the heat on the griddle will continue to keep it hot without actively cooking the veggies. If it seems they are still cooking too much, you can always pull them! Hope this helps fam! GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥
I absolutely love Mr. Yoshida's but can't find it anymore at Costco. :( I just ordered the 36" Blackstone Culinary griddle and can't wait to start cooking on it. Between my Rec Teq smoker, Weber gas grill, and Blackstone my set up will be complete.....for now. Your videos are awesome!

Hey guys love your videos very inspirational and definitely help with my cooking on my 36”. Im possibly looking to change over to the new Pit Boss but I have a question that may have been asked before but do they make or will they make an insert for the grease area so you don’t accidentally lose food down into it. Thanks
Thank you so much fam! As far as we know, the do not, but we will say, we haven’t lost any food in the grease trap, but we did many times on our BS - we have both really been impressed with it, and find we prefer the trap in the front. I’m sure someone will come up with something though!😄😄🔥🔥
LOVE, LOVE,LOOOOOVE THIS RECIPE!!! I think I'll use some shaved venison when I make it. Miss Kathy fell in LOVE with your Hawaiian Fried Rice. I need to make it for her soon, now that the weather has warmed and dried up.
Thank you so much for watching! This is ABC Sweet Soy Sauce - it’s thicker and sweeter than regular soy sauce. Even Teriyaki sauce is a bit more savory than this. Some prefer the others, but this is always a hit in our home and among friends!!🔥🔥
Hey Dudes, like Brets imitation of "Hannibal Lector".when he was tasting the rice. Now I need some fried rice, it's been awhile. Awesome cook. GRIDDLE ON DUDES.
I made this a while back, but I used some thinly sliced ribeye... as much as I like steak and pork my favorite fried rice is still the chicken fried rice... ps... I use thinly sliced pork tenderloin in my pork fried rice...
I bet that pork was amazing!!! Adam loved the Hawaiian fried rice, and I am a fan of the chicken as well brother! Thank you so much for watching! Griddle on!!!😁🤙🏻
This cook had a good amount of oil. After you replaced the the ceramic-coated top, you've talked about cooking with almost no oil. Would you please consider redoing some of these cooks to show us how to get the same great results with almost no oil? That would be awesome!
Watching that sauce just slide around and not gum up all over the surface is pretty neat. The cleanup on the Blackstone is my main complaint. Cool is fun and delicious but then a big cleanup and scraping. Could we get a video of the cleanup? Or add it at the end of a cooking video? That looks like you could have just wiped up with a paper towel. Thanks guys! Gonna try this one when it’s not 19° here in MO.
Yes, absolutely! In fact, we had recorded one during the Smashburger video, but the footage didn’t fit, so I pulled it - my bad fam! It’s unbelievable how quick and easy it is! Brethren! That cook looks delicious and it definitely will feed the whole family. The steak fried rice bowl 🥩 🍚 will be on the #Waltwins food truck for sure! Well done and griddle on!
Tried doing this and we cool the rice and left in the fridge for several hours. When we cooked the rice, it came out sort of gooey and we’re trying to figure out why. Any suggestions? I cooked it for as long if not longer than what you recommend but never could get rid of the gooeyness.
Hmm, great question, was the rice a bit mushy before you put it in the refrigerator? If the rice was overcooked I could see it staying mushy, but otherwise I’m not sure! Here’s a great article that may help as well! foodiosity.com/why-is-my-fried-rice-mushy/
@@waltwins One of the problems could have been from leaving the rice in a bowl as oppose to laying it out on a cookie sheet while in the refrigerator. When I tried taking it out of the bowl, it was all one big massive clump and stuck together.
Hey brother…we just got the Blackstone culinary with one air fryer….my husband can’t figure out how to turn it on…he hooked up a tank but it isn’t clicking…help??? We don’t see any instructions.

@@CarolinaOats wahoo, congratulations! Yes! @@waltwins I'm sorry. I love all of your videos. I don't like change. It sounds like a great opportunity to work directly with a company, and I can't knock you for taking advantage and doing what is best for you and your family. I truly apologize as I was rude and you two don't deserve that. I guess I was just taken back by the sudden change. Then realizing it'll be just the Pit Boss from here on out. There wasn't really a video or post explaining as to why you were making the change as I have seen other comments being confused as well. Unfortunately, from other TH-cam channels that I watch, once they get sponsored by a company, there is nothing but praise for that brand or the devices/grills/tools being used in the videos. You stop hearing about things they may not like about a product because they can no longer say negative things about a product. So it becomes tough to know what the truth is these days.

If you were doing for 2 people, you could absolutely even do 1-2 cups of rice, and limit the protein, veggies, and sauces - it kind of become an “eyeball” test - hope this helps fam! GRIDDLE ON!!🤙🤙🔥🔥 (or just make 3-4 cups and have tons of leftovers!!😂😂)
@@waltwins thank you for the reply & info! Hahaha you are so right! Make a big batch & then get to enjoy it as left overs another day! I love it!! You guys are awesome & I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Griddle On brothers!!
Hey Bothers nice job. Will you have a video of the pro's and con's between Black stone and Pit Boss? Keep on grilling gents.
For sure fam! We want to get more cooks under our belts so we can really give a pros/cons list, but we will for sure do a comparison video!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Guys, Pit Boss needs to come out with a line of utensils that are safe for their non-stick griddles. I want to get one but I'm having issues trying to find the right spatulas, scrapers, etc. Thanks for the video! I really want one!
Thank you so much for watching, Kelly! We may have an answer for you sooner than later! Stay tuned brother!!! Griddle on!!!😁🤙🏻🔥
Looks so good my brothers! Not using my griddle because it's sooo cold! 16° but feels like 1°...Keep on griddling! 💗💗💗
Holy cow! Stay warm fam! We hope all is well, and when it warms up, GRIDDLE ON!😁😁💙💙🔥🔥
Excellent job guys
I just purchased the pitboss Sierra. Can I use nylon utensils
What a terrific looking meal 🥘
Thank you so much fam, it was so good!!💙💙🔥🔥
I’m so glad I found your channel!
GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥
I always enjoy yalls videos. Good job
Wow, thank you so much fam!! 🤙🤙🔥🔥
I always like it man, You guys are my teacher . Thank you
Wow, thank you so much brother! We love it all for sure!! Take care and GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥
I absolutely love Mr.
You’ve got the whole setup fam!!😂😂. We’ve found the easiest way to get our Mr. Yoshida’s is to just order from Amazon. Take care and GRIDDLE ON FAM!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Big supporter of u2 and Love watching.
Wow, thank you so much fam, we appreciate it so much!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
The half moon tool you are using is that silicone that can be used on the Blackstone e-series? What is it called and where to purchase? This fried rice looks delicious!!
Hello, and yes!! It is so awesome! Here is a link - it’s a two-piece set by Kitchen Aid:

@@waltwins Thank you!!
On my blackstone I cut the steak and chicken on the flattop. Can you do that on the Pittboss?
Thanks for watching - we would not, and it’s something we didn’t do on the Blackstone either, due to the ease of dulling the knife. Cheers fam!🤙🤙
Yal got a new sub today! Found yals channel yesterday and have seen acouple vids. Picking up one of these Pit Boss soon.
Woot woot! Thank you so much for watching and for the sub! We have been so impressed with the Pit Boss! Can’t wait for you to get one too!! Take care and GRIDDLE ON FAM!🤙🤙🔥🔥
I'm really starting to like that griddle. Great cook.
Thank you so much fam, we are kind of becoming obsessed ourselves!!😳😳🔥🔥
Nice cook. That sauce is on my list to buy now!! Griddle on my brothers!!👊🏼🔥🔥🍻
Woot woot!! Thank you so much fam! I love making my own homemade teriyaki sauce, but this is so simple and absolutely amazing! Take care and GRIDDLE ON FAM!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Please tell me where to get some non stick griddle scrapes.!! My store stopped selling them🤔
Thank you so much for watching! Do you mean silicone or nylon scrapers?
@@waltwins nylon. To scrape non stick griddle🥓🍳
Amazing guy's as always!! Happy New Year!!
Happy New year to you too, Brother! We always love and appreciate your support. Griddle on!!!🤙🏻😁
You Go you two Crazy's!!! Much Luv Fam!!! Griddle On!!!
Haha!! Much love indeed fam!! GRIDDLE ON INDEED!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Doesn't seem the same without the clanking of metal spatula, it's part of the fun. Cleanup looks like a breeze though.
The cleanup is soooo breezy! Thank you so much for watching, Dante! Griddle on brother!!!😁🤙🏻❤️
What type of steak do you use and how do you make it tender
Does the grease trap have a foil liner to make cleaning easier?
Hey fam! It doesn’t yet, but we will press for one!😂😂. We actually place some foil in it, and it came out super easily!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Awesome Jon Waltwins like alwas it looks really good and tasty and you even made me hungry! Good job Like Always!!!
Thank you so much for watching, Kerri! This was sooo good! Griddle on!!!😁🤙🏻
What was the sauce you put in the rice. I have attempted fried rice multiple times and get the “sauce” right.
Thank you so much for watching! This is ABC Sweet Soy Sauce - it’s thicker and sweeter than regular soy sauce. Even Teriyaki sauce is a bit more savory than this. Some prefer the others, but this is always a hit in our home and among friends!!🔥🔥
On the road and missing watching your videos❤❤
Aww, too sweet!! We saw the new “to you” motorhome, so exciting fam!!🔥🔥
Hey Brothers, can I use the ready to eat rice?
Yes you can! We love that stuff! Thank you so much for watching! Griddle on!!!😁🤙🏻
Looks great! Gonna give this a try!
Thank you so much fam! This was so good, definitely worth a try!!🔥🔥
Hey Dudes, like Brets imitation of "Hannibal Lector".when he was tasting the rice. Now I need some fried rice, it's been awhile. Awesome cook. GRIDDLE ON DUDES.
Haha!!😂😂. Indeed fam!! This one turned out amazing!! Much love fam, GRIDDLE ON INDEED!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Fantastic cook up , preparation looks great , cooking familiar ways
& Taste is in the fabulous Waltwins enthusiasm , keep them coming
Woot woot!! Thank you so much fam! We appreciate it so much - this one was so good for sure!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Looks delicious! I'm going to have to give Mr Yoshida's a try one of these days. 😋🔥🍻
Yes you are! You won’t be disappointed brother! Thank you so much as always for watching! Griddle on!!!😁🤙🏻
Looks really good.
It smelled and tasted really good too!😜😂 Thank you so much for watching! Griddle on!!!😁🤙🏻❤️
Another great cook
Thank you brother! Definitely a banger! Griddle on!!!😁🤙🏻
I made this a while back, but I used some thinly sliced ribeye... as much as I like steak and pork my favorite fried rice is still the chicken fried rice... ps... I use thinly sliced pork tenderloin in my pork fried rice...
I bet that pork was amazing!!! Adam loved the Hawaiian fried rice, and I am a fan of the chicken as well brother! Thank you so much for watching! Griddle on!!!😁🤙🏻
Ok ok very nice! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much brother!! This was amazing, and the griddle performed perfectly!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
We’ll do a “how to” clean video in the next couple of weeks, but I’ll try to include the cleanup for Saturday’s video! Cheers fam, GRIDDLE ON and stay warm!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Ok guys, I enjoyed the cook. Looks good. However, really what's the biggest differences between Blackstone vs the Pitboss. I just can't see buying another griddle, but I am definitely interested. Again as one of your favorite Patreon's (lol), keep up the awesome griddles that you do.
Thank you so much brother! We will for sure give a bit more detail there - but we have been so impressed with the nonstick so far! And the fact that it comes with a 5 year warranty - Pit Boss is planning on this one sticking around! Cheers brother, we’ll be in touch!!
Nice job, my Sultans of Fried Rice!!! How you liking the Pit Boss??
Woot woot!! Oh man, this thing continues to impress! We had some sticking issues, but we’ve been able to figure it out, which makes us really appreciate the unit! Cheers brother!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
It’s really good with crawfish …just saying ….we make ours on a Blackstone regularly….
What a great channel
Thank you so much for saying that! That means so much to us… ❤️❤️❤️
Sup boys missed you guys been a while for me see you’re using a different griddle
Hey fam! Always a pleasure! We are super excited to get to work with Pit Boss on their new Sierra Griddle, it’s amazing!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Did you fellas have a falling out with blackstone? I don't see the prep table, seasoning, or tools now
They are with Pit Boss now.
Thank you so much man, we have an incredible opportunity to work with Pit Boss, and we have been really impressed with this new griddle! The prep cart we had moved because we have the new bigger table, which allows us to prep, serve, and do quite a bit more. Cheers brother!🤙🤙
@@waltwins awesome. Can't wait to see what's next. Best of luck
I haven’t check you Chanel for more than 2 months are you still use Blackstone?

Brethren! That cook looks delicious and it definitely will feed the whole family. The steak fried rice bowl 🥩 🍚 will be on the #Waltwins food truck for sure! Well done and griddle on!
Woot woot! Yessir! Another banger for the food truck!! Much love brother!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Looks delicious
Thank you so much fam, it was so good!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Tried doing this and we cool the rice and left in the fridge for several hours.
What happened to black stone grill
Thank you so much for watching fam. We are super excited to get to work with Pit Boss and the new Sierra Griddle, it’s amazing!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Hey brother…we just got the Blackstone culinary with one air fryer….my husband can’t figure out how to turn it on…he hooked up a tank but it isn’t clicking…help??? We don’t see any instructions.
No worries! Is there a battery in the igniter? You can check by unscrewing it - let us know!
@@waltwins Thank you so much for helping, we didn’t know it needed the battery. It worked! Man you were right I absolutely love this 28 inch with air fryer….it’s a beauty! I’ll be seasoning it today.
Have you tried the Blackstone seasoning?
@@CarolinaOats wahoo, congratulations! Yes! The seasoning worked well - we have only used it for repair, but I would totally use it again (if you have it) - we only held off for so long because it’s a small amount for $11, where vegetable and canola oil are so much cheaper - that said, if you have it, use it!😄😄
@@waltwins gotcha! I will definitely be using vegetable oil for future reference…what size liners do you buy & from where? That’s the only thing I don’t have right now. So I can’t season it until then right?
@@CarolinaOats you totally can! The liners are just to make cleanup easier. 😄😄 We just the the Blackstone ones at Walmart and Lowe’s, they are relatively cheap - although even in the baking section at Walmart we’ve been told they sell the same size for cheaper - I apologize I don’t know the dimensions! I’m sharing a link to a similar product just for reference (this has a picture in a grease trap, as well as dimensions! 🤙🤙

well back to finish asking the question I was trying to ask beforer my drunk neighbor yesterday started throwing things at my trailer will the E-Series spatulas be similar to The pit boss and I'm sure I'll get another smart alec comment get me in more trouble
Haha! Much love brother! Our apologies, that was the 5th or 6th time he had commented on someone else’s comment (I don’t think he’s happy we are using something other than Blackstone…😂) - yes! Pit Boss does have utensils coming very soon! Cheers fam!!🔥🔥
for me I don't care what you guys cook on I love watching you guys you guys are good Cooks I don't care what you cooking on I was just asking a question cuz I love you guys cooking on a smoker and that's mostly what I cook on is smokers Hazel small cast iron plate on my BBQ grill when I need a flat top love you guys

Great cook fellows. Does this mean the Blackstone is on the back burner? Lol
Lol, thank you so much fam! We are just super excited we get this chance to work with Pit Boss! We will continue to share the fun cooks and recipes too!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Can I use soy sauce instead of Mr yoshida's? I ain't find that
Absolutely! We like the Mr. Yoshida’s but also ABC Sweet Soy Sauce - even regular soy sauce. The only difference with regular soy sauce is that it will be more savory and no sweet, but it really works as well!!🔥🔥
I'm sure you guys have scene the E-Series spatula from Blackstone
Pit Boss doesn't want to see them using Blackstone materials.
@@Karrott9 well then maybe pit boss should have had the foresight to send some spatulas for the flat top lol
Thank you fam! Pit Boss does in fact have some utensils on the way! Cheers!🤙🤙
With all due respect brother, you’ve dropped in to other comments and we can’t help but see the tension. It’s unfortunate - you only know a small part of a long and painstaking process. Please understand there is so much more to a decision that was made. Cheers brother.
Is Pit Boss sponsoring you now? Why the change from the Blackstone? I know it's early but which one do you like better? I'm a Blackstone guy myself.
Hey fam, thank you so much for watching! We have an awesome opportunity to work with Pit Boss and their new Sierra Griddle! We for sure will do a comparison at some point, we want tog eat some experience with this awesome unit first, so we can give an honest review!🔥🔥
I can't begin to tell you guys how many pounds of this I would try to eat in one sitting.
Haha! You and us both… throth..? Thrith?!? All three of us!🤣 Much love, Sean! Good to see you brother! Griddle on!!!😁❤️🤙🏻
Cook looks awesome, but pit boss needs to step it up fast to get some REAL griddle type utensils to use on this new ceramic griddle ! Good job improvising, but I have a feeling I would be cussing those floppy spatulas after being used to the normal metal ones.
Haha!! No worries!! We actually spoke with Pit Boss tonight - we were being careful with the silicone, but the heavier duty nylon are good, for sure more sturdy! That said, we had a ton of fun with the soft silicone!😂😂. Much love fam, GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥
