Pancakes are so yum! I still want to make giant pancakes like on he did on "Uncle Buck"... just get a pizza peel to flip! Pretty cool that you got to make them from scratch with your son, that makes it extra special. Great job Parker! I have pretty much always done them from scratch, but I have used Bisquick from time to time. A couple other things you can try to elevate them even more (besides buttermilk), add a squirt of lemon juice, and most importantly, whip the egg whites to a peak separately from the yolks and fold them into the batter. You won't go back! I have noticed too that on the non-stick surface, if you cook the pancakes without butter or oil on a clean surface, it will give you a nice consistent golden color. That of course is just for the eyes, because there is nothing wrong with cooking them in butter - nummers! Man I love pancakes... probably why I need to lose more weight, lol. Griddle On!!

My son helped me assemble it on Sunday and I seasoned it yesterday afternoon. First cook - bacon, pancakes and a quickie cheese omelet (gotta love breakfast for dinner!) I had decided not to buy one after reading reviews about rust and chipping - thanks to you guys, I know this thing isn't like a teflon pan - it behaves like my favorite cast iron. Try them with buttermilk thar are yum,Yum good with Amish butter.let the batter sit in the refrigerator overnight or just 2 hours to me makes the fluffy.i also use vanilla flavor,nutmeg & ginger powder
Or camp favorite is pineapple pancakes. Pancake mix. Crushed pineapple in pineapple juice. Instead of using water in the mix i use the pineapple juice and add water only to finish the liquid measurements. Mix everything together and cook. Our campsite gets raided when making these. Yep yep yep.
