Sweet. With the lift could you fit 35s? Thanks

Nice Steve. Look forward to the vid. Query- could I hang that box on the side of my LR4 with the OEM roof rails? I haven’t seen one to inspect how it attaches but it looks like it attaches to the rails.

Check out the powerfuluk youtube site. They've bought a stock Defender and are fitting out themselves, including the side box.

You should do a more in depth video showing the access mode, drive mode, and off road mode.

So how does this work with access mode? Can you lower this ?

Yes. It is just 2” higher in access mode vs stock

I have the 2.5 in Johnson Rods lift on my LR4. They just make every mode 2.5 ins higher. Unless you get the limiting straps from Lucky 8. If you put really big wheels and tires on and in the event of an air suspension failure the fenders would be sitting on your tires making it undriveable, then you should get the straps. They will prevent access to access height mode though. But with 33s on the new Defender I don’t think there would be an issue, although Steve can probably confirm that better than me.

Yes. We kept it completely stock other than 2” lift and 33” tires

@@timberlinecline3667 The Bronco and Defender aren't even in the same consumer bracket! 😂😂😂 A branco (like a jeep) is nice. But i want to hit trails and enjoy the ride on the highway as well. Hence, the Defender.

    • @dadventuretv2538

@@timberlinecline3667 depends on how one wants to use it. As an all-rounder as I use my LR4 it is really nice to be able to lower it when putting things on the roof- like a two person kayak. And if you get high centered having that extra height mode to go into to get you off has come in handy a couple of times for me. It reduces your articulation but you only access it to get un-high-centered and then go back to offroad mode (or with the lift regular driving mode- with the lift and my larger tires I have 11.56 in of ground clearance in normal driving mode which is what I drive offroad in just about all the time). Can’t do this with coils- they are what they are. And of course the ride the rest of the time is sooooo nice with airbags. Course there is that worry in the back of your mind of a failure either the bag or a sensor. But so long as your wheels arent so big that your fenders will fall onto your tires and prevent you from moving, you could survive. 115K miles on my LR4 and no issues. If you are going to be doing a lot of hardcore offroading with massive articulation requirements and want really big wheels, or if you are going to be days away from civilization, then yeah, coils are the way to go. But I think a lot of people who are going to use their rig as a more all rounder write-off airbags too nonchalantly because of comments by people that do hardcore stuff, for which they are not suited. And that’s a shame because they might be better for a lot people.

@@timberlinecline3667 oh and rumor has it that there will be a 110 with coils option in 2021. You can get the 90 with coils for sure.

Hugh Smith yes I am. It has been on order since April. It was to be built in May but due to COVID and the Nitra Plant closing for that month it has not been built yet either. And they are now experiencing part supply issues so that is slowing down diesel models being built as well. I hope get mine before the end of this year.
