      Smart move also, because they’ll take a small market share from the people who are just shopping for a mall crawler. The defender will ride 10x better on road vs a Rubicon that won’t be utilized.

      It's not just the air suspension - the whole vehicle is a money trap. A mechanic friend believed that he could run a Landrover because he had his own workshop and unlimited repair facilities, and even he only took a short time to realise it was the biggest mistake of his life.

    Sometimes less is more. Need versus want. The dealers stock luxury models to make more profit. I am glad you can still place an order for what you want and not have to buy more. I really like what you built there. I would have skipped the jump seat. Best of luck with it. I can see you trading it in for a Bronco in 12 months...

      Dealers stock vehicles with more features because they sell faster. No one needs a base model truck that isn't in high demand eating into their floorplan. Some dealers do have base model trucks as their primary mode of inventory if they're a commercial truck dealer.

    • @Craig-wp3pz
      @Craig-wp3pz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't think it will ever come back to them,it's at the dealer, no known fix,and from what I'm hearing, these new defenders have 2 main faults, a high failure rate, and a low successful repair rate! Diagnosis is now swapping modules and brains which means it is never easy or cheap to fix, and as it's a new model, parts supply is poor! bet JLR are sending a replacement vehicle as it's now WAY past lemon law requirements

    Very nice review! The Italian version of the 110X can cost 135K euros!! Even if they sell these cars also in Europe, here on the Italian Alps this kind of off-roader is almost useless. The 99% of people that buy these cars won’t use them off-road, and, I mean, it’s a shame. They are too big for very tight alpine roads and too expensive to. You can see only a few Jeep Wrangler and Toyota Land Cruiser (the European one) in the three doors versions (unfortunately Mitsubishi does’t sell Pajero’s anymore and will retire completely from European markets). The Best Buy is the Suzuki Jimmy, it’ small, affordable and, on average, very reliable. My dad managed to buy the 2019 new model before a complicated (and useless) European law on CO2 emissions limited the number of Jimmys that could be sold in 2020 (in 2021 only a kind of commercial vehicle version will be available).

    The base model looks better to me, but I enjoy seeing base models of most vehicles because they don't have a bunch of visual trim that does nothing.

    I think that Landrover will find it has shot itself in the foot by abandoning its main market for the defender, which is farmers. The new defender isn't really an agricultural vehicle any more! At least it will boost the already good resale value of old ones! It would be interesting to compare the off road and work horse capabilities of a 20 or 30 year old 110 with the defender X... Also, the ongoing maintenance costs!

    I’d buy the 110 i6 diesel with manual seats, analogue gauge, steel wheels and coil springs ; the air suspension is a deal breaker.

    5:58 honestly, that's the one part I don't like so far, I think it's the white paint. however the rest of the car looks pretty good, and cost of a more traditional looking set of steelies isn't that expensive.

    How would you rank the Volvo XC90 T8 AWD Hybrid vs. those other high option LR's? I think the Volvo is sweet!
