It's a shame you haven't kept up with these videos. TH-camrs reviewing cars are loud, emotional, and more importantly, do not touch on the points that move us enthusiasts. Your reviews are fun, accurate, clear, and hit on the points we car people love. Sometimes success (like on youTube) is about knowing how to game (play on) the right buttons. It would be amazing to watch you hit those soft spots that the algorithm rewards while keeping your car girl true roots speaking and doing the loved car guy/girl stuff that we all love. I believe there is an audience for you worldwide here on TH-cam.

Big fan of Vicki’s since Top Gear days circa 1997. When the show was more about cars then acting moronic. Her personality and enthusiasm for cars was truly addictive. She could also drive and most probably leave most of us egotistic males for dust! 😆

Love the R. Had one 5yrs ago now before had to stop driving for medical reasons. Major fun. I managed to wobble the back end pushing it 😀. The videos of the granddaughter loving the acceleration are ace! Thanks VBH wish you could take us for a drive!

I’ve had a Mk7 Golf R for six years, it’s a great all-round car. Fast, grippy yet practical. But £38k for the new one? And that’s before adding the options. And no manual? And as for the touchscreen nonsense… I’ll stick with my Mk7 thanks (and my 2001 Elise - now that’s a drivers car). Loving the channel
My 2019 7.5 Golf R stick of course, is great, quick, stable, comfortable, reliable, 40,000 miles not a burp, and super quick, and is glued to the road, STICK here in U.S. is coming in Mk 8, gotta have stick

I think the 7.5 was the sweet spot with the Golf GTI /R.
Always hankered for a Mk2 Golf GTI 16valve in olive green with big bumper kit ❤️❤️ was the GTI that was about when I was old enough to drive

Good review, I ve had 10 vw's, not a fan of touch screens, really hard to use on our crumbling roads. You can't beat proper controls.
The price of this R is bonkers, and that's before any options are ticked.
Vics, I love yr presenting style, yr fun, enthusiastic and give good honest sensible reviews. And I ve still got a bit of a crush on you after all these years. 😃
Great Video Vicki ....... loved it ;) All newer cars now are so bloody quiet and having the exhaust upgrade as an option is I'm sure a great thing!! I have a C63 with the 6.2L NA with very low miles on the clock and the noise is epic..... where will we be in 10 years time if we don't cherish our petrol performance motors .......

Just got my golf R and it’s a manual! Yay! It is so practical for daily, understated and yet so much fun to drive! I love it.
My mk8 gti should be delivered by the end of this week. It’s a manual. I’m so stoked.
But overall its firstly a fantastic review by Vicki (legend) and not the normal vw golf hater because (ok ive had 6 gtis) but they are great cars to live with everyday because they do absolutely everything well and thats it really and the mature persons choice of hot hatch 👍

I have hit that button. I was extremely jealous when a friend posted a picture of you and him at National Alfa Day. My Alfasud was not allowed in due to Covid. Although not originally a hatchback, the Sud created the hot hatch. You really ought to feature one, and you'll enjoy pop and bang au naturelle, not manufactured 😂
Nice to see there are still humpback bridges still around to do that mini jump, over the years around my immediate area there has been some flattening out of these humpbacks.
I know you will share my joy the first time I drove over this one!
