Mushrooms ... don't put this stuff on your kittens, it is extremely toxic. Easiest and most effective way to keep kitties free of fleas is to fill a large plastic bin with "warm" water and some dawn dish soap, hold your kitten by the scruff of its neck and dip its body in ... very quick and simple. Do this every 2-4 weeks (as needed, if you notice your kitty scratching). Also, I like to sit my kitties on my lap a couple times a week and take a few minutes to comb them with a flea comb - sit a little bowl of soapy water (again Dawn dish soap - it kills fleas) beside you to keep dipping the comb - most often if I find any, they're on the neck/head, around ears because the kitties can't clean those parts as easy as the rest of their body. If you do these things regularly, your cats will get used to it and sit calmly for their routine grooming - mine enjoy it and purr now when I'm cleaning them (except the dip part). 😊
@@spearageddon3279 I have to wash my white kitten atleast once a week, they usually get dirty af in a few days, I don’t even know how, btw yeah, my parents wouldn’t believe me, we put the flea treatment like once a month maybe, and every week while we bath him (yes it’s a he, at the vet we found out he was male) when I bath him I remove all the fleas that I see, then I comb him for about 5 mins and check if there are any more fleas, usually the fleas die while I clean my kitten, I use a shampoo made specifically for cats and the fleas mostly drown in the water or because of the soap, Now he’s 5 months old, every time I’m close to him he purrs non-stop, and he doesn’t bite or scratch to hurt you, but to play, he’s a very sweet and friendly boy thank you, this comment is very useful😊
Hiii you should wait for your kitten to get older and to a certain weight! It seeps into the bloodstream and is toxic to fleas so I’ve found that fleas actually jump off three days after application and thats when you should start cleaning your home too :)
If you are going to wash your kitten in dawn and they have fleas, the fleas will quickly rush to your cats face. I learned this the hard way and it was traumatizing for both of us. Dawn will immobilize them for a few hours if they are covered in it. Once dry, the bounce right back! I was able to catch a ton of them with a dawn bath, they even looked dead, but the next day, caught about 30 more (alive) with the flea comb. Dawn also will not kill the eggs. It is drying for your cats skin, so you can't even use it every day and fleas multiply very fast. I am currently learning that the comb and bath are not enough! I actually even used a medicine between the shoulder blades a few weeks ago and it didn't work. Fleas are very hearty and all of these methods are currently failing us. I think I will be spending the next month obsessively combing her and taking her to the vet for help.
Advantage 2 works well, but remember these are preventative meds. They are not meant to kill fleas, only keep them off the cat if they aren't already there. It may kill some, but not all. Capstar works wonders for killing, in combination with vacuuming, carpet powder, etc.
Thanks for valuable information, I'm fighting fleas right now, I'm using human headlice metal hairbrush and kill all the fleas that I brush out- usually by squashing them in between my fingernails (that is super satisfying) just have to be quick, because they jump away within seconds, 1 in 15 escape, but it jumps right back in cat and I find it quick. On average its about 30 fleas every other day, most I had in one go was 150! If it's that many I don't bother anymore, then cat goes right in shower and with help of antiflea cat shampoo, they all swim down the drain, as its easy to see them once cat furr is wet and all the flea shit goes with them leaving cat super soft and clean afterwards (check water temperature with your elbow and right after keep cat warm in dry towel) I want to get flea floor light glue trap, my cousin had it and it worked miracles, then I use antiflea liquid on the back of cats neck and you can see fleas Dying within couple hours near the neck, the rest just jump out and start biting me and my housemates really painfully and even cat is having hard time (itching and scratching) after them drops, it's like some die but the rest of them just become fiercer.... I try to vacuum, but that does not help, they just keep multiply because Ihave carpets in all rooms, my sister has no carpet, just tiles and laminate and 3 cats, but she is using same metal human headlice brush and all she got is 2 fleas per cat once a day!!! Could be that it helps that her flatis much colder. Hope this helps and give some extra info.

These are completely safe when applied correctly, ensure it is applied in an area that the cat cannot reach, the consumption of this stuff can cause poisoning in large enough dosages. If your cat shows an allergic reaction I recommend immediately disinfecting the area thoroughly with soap and consulting a Vet for a plan that your cat can tolerate. I wouldn't recommend using this in homes with multiple cats that groom each other.
I need some advice. The kitten in the basement of my apartment in nyc is ALWAYS scratching its neck/head more than any cat I’ve ever seen and I’m worried but don’t know how to check for flees/ticks. I noticed I had some bug bites after I started playing with her when I did my laundry down there. Use a flea comb daily and vacuum daily. I use a flea comb on my indoor/outdoor cat 3 times a night after work all day and keep finding between 5 and 8 a day. You have to vacuum everything for the eggs because 1 flea can drop up to 50 eggs. I use a flea comb and after each brush I use a bright LED light and you'll see the little bastards on the comb. I take a lighter and light them up and fry 'em. You'll burn the hair on the comb and it smells bad but it's the fastest way to kill them on the flea comb.....otherwise they can jump off and you lose them. You have to be quick. Wipe the comb off and repeat.

@@annhill20111hey try using 100% cold pressed coconut oil, so drench their coat in it and put it everywhere.. the fleas will literally drown in the oil and die and you’ll literally notice the difference within an hr or so and leave it on for 2-3 days before washing (you don’t even have to wash the coconut oil off as it eventually comes off itself). Also I recommend when you’re done applying the coconut oil to use a flea to comb to get rid of the dead/drowning fleas so they don’t just drop off all over your house. MOREOVER, after applying the coconut oil & combing out the fleas MAKE SURE to deep clean your environment!! google ways you should clean to get rid of fleas. :) ❤hope this helps

These are some things i do and are not harmful. Be patient and consistent. A flea comb with a little bit of organic coconut oil works wonders and be prepared to pop the fleas, they will stick to the flea comb.Diamaeteous earth food grade can be lightly sprinkled and use your flea comb. You can sprinkle around their bedding after you can vacuum. Apple cider in a spray bottle with water can be sprayed/ misted. 3/4 water 1/4 apple cider all over the house not on the cat but your home, the smell repels fleas and isn't harmful. It's a bit smelly, but it eventually goes away. You can spray the apple cider w/water or sprinkle diamaeteous earth outside door and or sprinkle all around the siding of the walls. It truly repels every insect most importantly not harmful to your fur babies nor you 🐾🐾

My advice is to move out of nyc. That place is a crime-infested 💩hole!

Unfortunately no preventative measure or treatment has worked for my cats this year - and I tried a few! I have never known a year like this!
The fleas have adapted & none of them work now. Search for natural flea repellents & make your own. It’s cheap, easy and effective!

You do want it on the skin, but not all over it - pick one small, hard to reach spot between the shoulders so they can't lick it off.

These are some things i do and are not harmful. Be patient and consistent. A flea comb with a little bit of organic coconut oil works wonders and be prepared to pop the fleas, they will stick to the flea comb.Diamaeteous earth food grade can be lightly sprinkled and use your flea comb. You can sprinkle around their bedding after you can vacuum. Apple cider in a spray bottle with water can be sprayed/ misted. 3/4 water 1/4 apple cider all over the house not on the cat but your home, the smell repels fleas and isn't harmful. It's a bit smelly, but it eventually goes away. You can spray the apple cider w/water or sprinkle diamaeteous earth outside door and or sprinkle all around the siding of the walls. It truly repels every insect most importantly not harmful to your fur babies nor you 🐾🐾
Forgot to mention use the coconut oil once a week but comb your pet 2 to 3 times a day. No worries if the groom themselves it's not harmful

There are natural flea repellents that are easy & inexpensive that won’t harm your pet. That poison is a no-no on my cats.

Indoor cats do not need prevention if you have no other animals that go outside and if you practice basic house cleaning skills.
My cat suddenly has fleas and she's an indoor cat. Noticed her scratching few days ago and this morning one was on my face in bed and I just saw one crawl between her eyes
People can bring the fleas into your home, that's what I'm dealing with currently. And the guy I'm talking about doesn't even own a cat/ dog, his apartment shared laundry room is infested and he won't do anything about it. Real nice eh?
@@P4Eight Two guys came in my apartment doing fire inspection and she started scratching few days later. They went in all the units in my complex and brought fleas in my home. I've had my carpet saturated in poison, paid $100 to have her coat shaved and her flea comes, cone and Advantage ll will be delivered tonight. All of this because a flea hitched a ride on someone that entered my home for a few minutes.
That is not true. I’m here because my 4 year indoor cat has fleas! Our home is immaculate, no other animals and we don’t have visitors at our home.
