You've suddenly become my official go-to for fixing my Hyundai Accents. This is the third video from this channel I've depended on to get my own junk done. Much appreciated.
Not sure if you still check these comments, I’m trying to replace my crankshaft position sensor, there’s something in the way of the bolt? How did you get it out without a swivel and extension
Thanks for taking the time to make these vids! I have an '02 Accent with 180K miles on it. Bought it new and it's been a champ. I do all of my own maintenance and your videos better help me understand how to maintain my car than the factory service manual alone. Thanks again. =) Tom
Thanks very much! My wife's 2004 Accent would not start on 2 separate occasions and now won't start at all. No fire from plugs. Expect it is probably the crankshaft sensor but had no idea where to begin. This was a great help!!
Great , detailed instructions, no non-sense and good explanation about what those parts do. Just replaced this part on my Hyundai Accent 2010 GLS sedan, and these instructions was pretty accurate for my car.
Was there a code that came with needing to replace these? I’m working on a 02 1.6. Sometimes it starts fine. And other times it doesn’t. Changed fuel filter and purge valve so far. Fuel pump is making noise when jumping the relay. Looking at these sensors next but the bolts are so rusty to remove.
@@WiLL02724 crankshaft p0335 sensor A circuit malfunction is what I received however this code only comes up when the car doesn’t start. I need to replace and run it longer again to see if it prevents the start or fixes
Hey thanks I bought one of those 10 years ago when our accent was doing wierd stuff. Like shutting down on the freeway. We thought timing belt. Mechanics found nothing. He suggested that part after finding nothing. It was at 65k miles so ... I had him do the belt waterpump etc anyway.....hoses belts everth9ng.. problem came back...no trouble codes. Ever. Turned out a wonky mastercylinder was literally locking up a front wheel. Fixed that, longer story short. We still have that car. 109k original miles. I saw that part in the back of my cupboard. Threw it in she's even smoother than silk now. We smog it Monday. It's never failed. Friggin great car considering the first year my wife piled 30k miles on it. We've serviced everything. Over it's almost 22 year life.
I'm going to try this tomorrow my self it seems the guys over here can't find out what the problem is. My husband and his friend changed the Fuel filter again, and the gas tank, and the vapor canister. and the sensor there as well. But it still stales. and wont work. It gets hot and wont start until cool.
I have a 2004 Hyundai Accent I am trying to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor, I have taken out the bold undid the wire and tried to twist and pull it out but its stuck, even tried soaking it with PB Blaster, got any tricks on how to get it loose?
Thanks for the time you’ve taken to share this information. The only follow up assistance I would like to ask would be where you know the tooth orientation (count) for the trigger wheels these sensors are looking at. Thanks for any additional assistance you can provide.
On a 2004 right hand drive Accent with manual transmission, crank angle sensor replacement is an 'engine out job' unless you have specialist thin sockets or some other alternative tools.
Loved the video. But I am not sure that what WRONG with the car, my car stall after 10 minutes with no ERROR CODE, I have changed the fuel pump last year.
How do you get the socket on the crankshaft sensor I for the life of me can't do it there is only room for the socket and know way for the wrench to go on
I tried for a hour what kind of combo 10 ml small extension did you use I have a standard size socket maybe I need one of the smaller ones. Also my car runs fine I just scanned the codes because of the check engine light and bought the part it needed.
I had the same issue, i'm guessing you have already resolved it. But what i did was used a 1/4 drive 10mm shallow socket, universal joint, 1 inch extension, 1/4 drive ratchet - in that order. Then i had to use a screw driver in a couple different positions to spin the sensor a bit. After that it had popped out enough that i could put the screwdriver under it and pop it out fully. I did this from the top and bottom of the car with it jacked up.
I don’t Ass-U-May anything with a Hyundai! I have 2 of them and although they are just a few years apart, it might as well be night and day. I have spent DAYS trying to locate the crankshaft sensor on my ‘07. Even some of the Hyundai pictures/ drawings give different locations!
Hello sir I have 2007 Hyundai accent crdi and Car stall and some time it's crank but won't start but after some time rest it's start normally. After scanning code found p340 so what do next please guide me thanks
You should look into your cam shaft sensor. It's an easy enough part to change, but avoid just changing parts without further diagnosis. I made a video showing how to change that and the crank shaft sensor. th-cam.com/video/QHhInpa9l5Q/w-d-xo.html
I bought a scribe tool from Harbor Freight for a buck. It looks like that metal dental cleaning pick the Hygienist uses to clean your teeth. You just use the point to pop the seal out, and it's done.
Hey man, thanks a ton for your concise explanation. The only thing to be desired here was a closeup of the crankshaft position sensor itself. But with it being generally visible from the top of the engine compartment, i suppose its not a big deal. But like i said, your explanation explained much of what was needed without getting into details un-needed, as i probably would have done. lol Many thanks, you get a like!
So i finally got around to working on this. I have a multiple misfire issue on cylinders 2, 3 and 4. I've replaced the camshaft position sensor and drove the car, but it did not fix the issue. So now trying to get to the crankshaft position sensor is proving nearly impossible. My 03 hyundai is a manual, and there appears to be a hydraulic slave cylinder that i think controls the throwout bearing, which is position directly in the way of the 10mm bolt to the crankshaft sensor. Literally as if its there on purpose. Its very close to the bolt as well as directly in front of it, so i can't seem to fit my ratchet in there even with no extension, or a UV joint. But i haven't tried 1/4 drive yet. Any thoughts?
Scratch that i got it. But it didn't fix the issue. I also have the same issue you had with not being able to pump gas in at full speed, did that have any effect on how your car ran other than gas mileage? My gas mileage has been excellent, 38-39 mpg. Then poof, multiple misfire.
Hey I have 05 manual too and have that hydraulic thing in the way. I can't get to crankshaft sensor. How did you get to it? I've tried to remove the hydraulic thing with 12 mm but there is another solid metal wire thingy to obstruct me to turn the bolt in any direction. Is there special tool bent in weird shape?
Brooo i hope this fixes my accent. Im having a no start trouble. It started with a shut off while driving and it wouldnt start back up at all. Like when i crank it it sounds very faint, weak and slow. So i thought the alternator was bad changed that, nothing. Changed the fuel pump, nothing. I went in to the ignition system. found some oil on the spark plug so i figured i clean or change the spark plugs and change the valve cover seals. And maybe just change the shaft sensors as well while im at it. I bought it for it 800$ so ill see if i can fix it. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽
2000 Hyundai Accent No Spark , checked both coil packs nothing..I then put in a Crank position sensor and it Runs great !! If yours has no Spark at all try that if that does not work put in a cam sensor ..both will cause no spark and other issues ..Oh and yes do not bang on it !! Just clean the area around it before removing old one ( i used brake cleaner and a old tea shirt ) put a very small amount of clean motor oil on Rubber O ring seal and just wiggle it back from side to side until it goes in and you should be fine..But this video he is way to hard on that sensor ( most likely broke it ) So do not bang on them.!!!
I have a 09 hyundai accent, it cranks but does not runs, obd2 reads camshaft position sensor "a" high circuit input. changed the sensor and still no life... any advise you can give?????

It would have helped if the crankshaft location sensor could have been seen!
Do you recommend replacing both sensors if only one goes bad? btw, I have a 2009 Hyundai Accent with 140K miles.

Thank you, do you know why any liquid would come out under pressure from the screw of the first sensor? It is very similar to hyundai matrix or lavita
how many camshaft are they on a 01 Hyundai Accent ?

Hello, did you have to reset or "relearn" the ecm after installing the sensors?
I replaced the sensor, just cranks with no start. Anything else I need to do?
@@longislandforester859 same for me... Doesn't start after I changed it
@@marioantonio2k mine turned out to be the timing belt. I sold the car
Not sure if my camshaft sensor is two wire or three wire. How often is the wiring the real problem and not the sensors?
Camshaft sensor will have three prongs and the wire will disconnect from it. The crankshaft sensor will have 2 prongs and a wire built in
Loved the video. But I am not sure that what WRONG with the car, my car stall after 10 minutes with no ERROR CODE, I have changed the fuel pump last year.
I would go through the basics...fuel, air, ignition, compression, probably in that order.
Why didn't you take the hose off to get to the sensor in the bottom. wouldn't that have been easier. I have the same problem with mine.
Thank you for this video. Great job.
Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
hey bro i want to ask.. would you like to sell that 2 pieces to me please ? i am from algeria ( north africa ) .. so ?

How difficult was it to remove the o-ring seal? slippery and hardened, I would imagine a pain in the ass.
