- A 1960 Ford Starliner built by Alloway's Hot Rod Shop...In this video I'm able to get a few minutes with The Man in Black...Bobby Alloway himself to tell me about this 1960 Starliner that was just debuted at the 2017 Goodguy's Nashville Nationals....A 429 Boss..under the hood....A Lipstick red interior by Pro Auto Custom Interiors by Steve Holcomb that looks like some kinda serious upgrade to the 1960's stock interior....Big wheels in the back...Small ones up front give it the only stance you will get at Alloway's Hot Rods....Black paint that looks a mile deep....The boys at Alloway's Hot Rod Shop always build cool..And this Starliner is no exception....Oh ya.... That looks like an Olds or Pontiac steering collum.
Love the 60-61 Starliner's. I prefer the 61 with the 401 horsepower 390 Tri Power but they're both super cool cars. I believe the top engine option in a 60 Starliner was a 360 horsepower HiPo 352. They did very well in NASCAR because of their aerodynamic roofline. To me the full size high performance cars of the early to mid 60's are just as cool as the later intermediate size muscle cars and pony cars. I like the high performance versions of the 389/421 Pontiac's, 348/409 Chevy's, and Ford Starliner's and 406/427 Galaxie's

My dad was a dealer [upstate NY]...I was about 10 when the '60's came out. The new models were a HUGE deal back in those days! My dad would drive the new ones home at night and stash them in our garage at home until the grand unveiling at the dealership. The '60 was a vast departure from the '59's, which I liked. I remember the shock and disappointment I felt when I first saw the '60's....almost embarrassment! (they've grown on me since) On the other hand, the '66 was a mere refinement of the '65...but what a notable improvement both in appearance and feel! (lucky me...no other generation will ever again experience the innocence and freshness and simple joys of the '50's and '60's...)

I had a 60 Starliner as a teenager. It was the 352/360HP version. Loved the car. Sold it when I got drafted into the Army in 1966.

The first one of these I saw when I was young was a Stockade runner....I was 16 years old the old man that had it was a Liquor hauler ....for a living....he would come to the house early on a Sunday morning, we would load him up..he never cut the engine off, just had the drivers seat, put 30 cases of Daddy's special recipe on and I would listen as he would Idle off out of hearing!

One of my aunt and uncle's, back in the day, purchased a red one. 1960 has always been one of my Ford years.
The craftsmanship going into this car and others seen in the background is amazing. I am constantly amazed at God given talents.

Absolutely Beautiful ! They are really nice in stock form also. I remember when they showed up with the optional 352/ 360 HP option and ran their ass off ! Showed the 348 Chevys and big Ponchos that there was a new kid on the block !

This is one Super-Trick Blue oval Scotty. Alloway's freedom to do...always makes for a Killer. They simply know just how to go about their business in creating a high quality product. Simplicity appeal really is the way to go. Just another home run Scotty. High Fives.

They say never meet your heroes.....Bobby is no exception- first time I met him in 2013 I was so excited. He was so rude and confirmed that 2 more times upon meeting him again. For a southern Man I was so shocked.

What a great looking piece of art. Brought to us from Alloway. Great find Scottie. Holcomb hit another homer with the interior. I immediately recognized the front seat being 65 Thunderbird,that was my car in High School.

They've done it again. IMO, this is the way I think hot rods or customs be DONE. Plain simple and good materials to me go a whole lot further than stacking a bunch of off the shelf crap and call it a custom. Just GORGEOUS

Jaw dropping build. The jet age cars (60-62) from all Detroit are my favorite. Especially the Mercury Marauder’s & these Starliners. And the rarely seen Oldsmobile Jetfire

I have always wanted one of those car's, born in 1960 and that car carried the Starliner name proudly with the name of Galaxie and Fairlane 500 on the same car, love it best looking I've ever seen in my life man you guys do Them right Frickin awesome.

This was a new car st the time. I was only 9, too young to drive. The dual Autolite four barrels and cast headers were factory installed. Getting a ride in this rocket ship was a real treat! Nice as it was, this featured car is way better than factory.

This sensational looking build has given me a greater appreciation for the 60's Ford design schemes. The minimalist elements/lines on this car are pretty sublime, but only evident with the (trying too much to look like Chevy) cladding removed, that along with the badges. Steve is a smart impressive craftsman.

Yes, these guys did an awesome job. This car is gorgeous. I love the StarLiner though. That said I am a little saddened to see what was described as a good , stock , car tricked out and the fender and quarter panel embellishments deleted. Thats what made it a starliner, ..,,,,,, should have at least left them......
