- This 1955 Plymouth Savoy is a recent release from Alloway's Hot Rod Shop...It hard to recognize as that after the addition of the "Alloway Look"....Bobby tells me that they didn't make a lot of changes to the body...Just cleaned things up....Big wheels on the back....Smaller ones on the front...A very cool...But....Could have come from the factory in 1955 Pro Auto custom Interior by Steve Holcomb interior....Now under the hood...There are only two of those on the planet.....Over 500 CI...All polished aluminum HEMI!!!

Used ride in a white Savoy to Junior High in 1962...I just now remembered what the lady's daughter looked like. She was a cutie but momma was a BEAR! WOW! Big difference...awesome. Thanks Scottie

Saw her at a class reunion in the 90s I was grateful I didn't go for it...she looked just like mama. She could go grizzly hunting with a belt!
Scottie, you brought back memories of my childhood. As I was enjoying building my model cars on our kitchen table, my dad was working on his 55 Savoy, he loved that car as much as I loved building model cars, I knew this, because when I went with him to the junk yard to get his personal items, he cried! My dad told me this old lady ran a stop sign and total out the whole front end and bent the frame. I miss that 55 Savoy but not much as I miss my dad! 😔 Awesome job on your Savoy! always thought about getting one...

My first car on my 16th birthday back in January of 69 was a 55 Plymouth same as this with a 331 CI Hemi and 2 spd auto on the dash, Bench seat and custom interior. Not quite as pretty or as fast but it was a tank of a car and it was dependable and paid for. Sold it for $60. That summer and bought a 39 Plymouth coupe for $50. And went on from there.

55 Plymouth station wagon two door was in Dallas at the street rod show off. Nice looked a lot like a chevy Nomad. This one here is awesome build for sure. The wagon had the crome strips on the tailgate like the chevey Nomad. Painted yellow with tan interior. Had the factory hemi in it also. SEMPER FIDELIS

I think this looks way better than any other 55 bellaire after the surgery. Just freaking beautiful maybe because its not so common something new to the eyes idk

I have a friend that owns a 56 Belvedere hardtop much the same design but the 56 has tail fins. his is stock with a 277 poly head and power flite

That is a awesome looking car. I love the fact they like to do cars not usually done . I would love to see Alloways build a 1946 chevy coupe ute in the Alloways style, thats one truck you don't see very much of anywhere

I'm doing three 56 Plymouths; a Savoy 2 dr sedan, a Belvedere 4 dr ht, and a Belvedere 2 dr ht. Seems to be more parts available for the 56 than the 55, although many interchange. IMO a nicer looking car than the Chevies and Fords of those years; the profile lower and the lines smoother, and the look is more aggressive.
On Alloway's build, there is a stock tach that came with the 56 Plymouth Fury; I've seen them on Ebay. They are positioned in a modified 55/56 dash just to the right of the steering column.
I am with you...it Destroys the 55 Chevy. Much more Beautiful, Sleek, Agressive, ...just Everything better than the 55 Chevy hands down.
We had a 54 Savoy. The 55 is a step up in looks no doubt.

Scottie, the Ford Starliner was produced for two years '60 & 61. The '61 was a much better looking car but the '60 wasn't bad. Love your videos, keep up the good work.

Personally I think Virgil Exner's design here is so much cleaner than the bath tub tri-5's at GM and this car isn't even the coupe!

What a great car and execution. The only thing I would change is the ride height. 2 inches higher would be perfect for me. Maybe even 20 inch steelies with dog dish caps in ivory white. Thank you for the video.

Great looking Plymouth. FYI, no Plymouth had bucket seats in 55. Bench only through at least 58. Optional swivel seats in 59 were almost buckets. But really, 62 was first year for bucket seats and console.

Search Alloway on www.ScottieDTV.com I think there are a couple where they were on the lift and I got shoot under them....
That tachometer is placed where the radio speaker was originally. Speculation that the car may or may not have been bucket seats is weird! No bucket seats in sedans back in the day.
