The films are supposed to take place in the last glacial period, circa 20000 BC, when humans had already invented clothing. Continents were technically in the same positions as today.

In reality they were only found in the amazon (or at least where it was in argentina 8-10 million years ago). Arks a great game though, shame they still haven't balanced mega clans properly 65 million years after its release.

I can instantly think of a sin: How they made the LARGE, prehistoric mammals TINY compared to the dinosaurs. Why was Manny and Ellie basically human-sized in comparison to the brachiosaur and ankylosaur? For example, the size difference between a human and a T-rex is not nearly as big as that of a human vs. an ant. The Ice Age mammals should not have been so inaccurately minuscule next to the dinos. It still irks me to this day.

Here in Australia, all the sequels are conveniently numbered (e.g. _Ice Age 2: The Meltdown_ ).
CD has pirates. I don't really remember what the plot was besides pirates, I think it had something to do with finding a girl for Diego. I'm guessing Tigress turned him down.
Continental Drift had pirates and basically the movie was just the pirates getting revenge on the trio and Diego getting a girl :/

In theaters it had the 2 on there but it isn't on the home release for some reason. And it's easy to remember this is before that movie because, even though these movies aren't perfect, they have solid continuity between them. This one has Manny meet Ellie, the third one ends with them having their daughter Peaches, the fourth is about Manny getting separated from Ellie and teenage Peaches because of the shifting continents and he has to make it back to them, and the fifth ends with Peaches getting married and going to live her own life.
I love how just by making these videos, Jeremy comes up with so many plots for more interesting movies.

Heres something interesting. Some time ago there was a bunch of psychologist that where able to convince their patients that they went through ridiculous shit involving clubs that left them severely scared and they believed that. They'd point to their scars and tell their story, but there was no scar there. I think its just interesting and that to a certain extent this applies to Ellie.

I have a very intense fear of the ocean, or other sources of deep open water. I will never go in the ocean. Even just playing games like GTA V and taking a submarine down into the ocean, I start to panic.
All this to say, I blame this movie and the pre-historic sea monsters in it for making me afraid of the ocean and what terrors it may hold.
And it doesn't help the ocean is still filled with many animals that could be considered as monsters, which is why I'm also afraid of it

It's kinda funny, because the whole point of this film is to 'keep the mammoths alive', yet animals like Smilodon (Diego) and Megalonyx (Sid) all went extinct earlier (at least 10,000 years ago) than the Wooly Mammoths (who have been found to have survived near the Bering Sea up 'til as recently as only 5,000 years ago). So technically Manny's species did manage to 'survive' a bit longer than either Diego or Sid- not by much when you look at the total timeline, but a bit longer.

Also, the second disc felt like a large adventure with more things still to discover. There was quite a few things to play and have fun with. It felt kind of magical. Like I didn't find the minigames and sound edits the first times I was looking through the disc.

I'm gonna de-sin the "1 minute under water" part of the fight because, assuming Mammoths are simular to modern day Elephants in the matter, that's not much of an issue. Elephants can hold their breath for quite long (and also use their trunk as a snorkel). That means the "multi-ton mammoth" aspect makes the whole thing more realistic than in a human. And yes, mammoths would probably be able to swim and not even that badly, considering Elephants have been seen fending off crocodiles and on one occasion even sharks, though those prehistoric creepy-crocs are probably bigger, stronger and heavier in relation.

He’s a mammoth. His lungs are much bigger than ours.
His muscles would also require a lot more oxygen so it would balance out, if it didn't, then they would never evolve large lungs, nature never does shit without a reason.
But he himself is also much bigger than us making him use more oxygen. It’s the just a ratio of usage to lung size.

By the time you've gotten to Ice Age 5 (The one that ruined my image of how classy Peaches really is) they'll have released Ice Age 7.

According to the guidebook that came out around the same time as the movie, they're supposed to be an ichthyosaurus and a pliosaur ... despite looking nothing like them. Imo the purple one looks more like a metriorhynchus or some other marine crocodilian, whereas the green one doesn't really resemble any known prehistoric reptile.
