In regards to the lone semi exiting the freeway sin, it's a bit too clever for Jeremy though. Lightning didnt just fillow a random truck for no reason. Hes a battery recycling transportation truck. When Lightning gets close and in the light, you can clearly see a large lightning bolt shape toward a back, a red bloby battery in the middle, and a yellow recycling sign toward the front of his red trailer. Compare that to Mac who has, a yellow lightning bolt toward the back, lightning himself in the middle who is red, and the red and yellow rustyz logo toward the front of his red trailer. From a distance and in the dark they look extremely similar. He left the freeway because this truck actually looked very much like Mac.
also about the "what else matters but winning" this is a sponsorship, optics matters a lot, sure you want a winner but if your attaching your logo to someone someone who loses a race because he pulled the worlds biggest bro move is worth a lot more then winning, because thats what this race is going to be remembered for
This was and still is one of my favorite movies for several reasons. Great story, character development, some history, fantastic cast, awesome soundtrack, and the graphics. I used to demo the movie to calibrate peoples' new home theater setups just with the beginning ~ McQueen talking to himself quietly in the trailer juxtaposed with the random cuts to engines roaring, surround sound, the thumping of Sheryl Crow's _Real Gone_ and not to mention the rich character colors if the TV's colors needed tweaking.
I got a sin that Jeremy missed. The laps led from Lightning McQueen. In 2006, most laps led give you 5 bonus points. McQueen clearly lead the most laps giving him 5 points over the other 2, thus giving the cup to McQueen. Edit: I can't believe all these people agree with me.
It always fascinates me how much Jeremy tries to have it both ways with regard to virtue signalling. In one breath he'll be like "so and so woman isnt literally sucking me off in this scene" and in the next he's lambasting bathroom queue jokes as being sexist.
His "That's racist" and "That's sexist" jokes are just that. Recurring jokes. He doesn't actually think the situations are racist or sexist, he just gives that sin lightheartedly to any situation involving sex or race/nationality, usually meaning it to be ludicrous.
Completely forgot that Jeremy thought that Batman v Superman thought it would outgross a Marvel movie based on the fact it had Batman and Superman in it without establishing a franchise.
3:00, It is not sexist. For those who don't know, because you are young or not American, back when Cars was being made, there were still stadiums like this that in the Men's Room you had a trough(pronounced trof). Women can't sit on a trough to go pee, but you can get a dozen men shoulder to shoulder to pee into one. Sometimes it was just like a bath tub, other times it was a long cement gutter at a slight angle. So, no it is not sexist that there is a long line for the women's as they each have to individually use a toilet, as opposed to the men's essentially having half the floor of the room to pee into. More modern designs now have individual urinals, but 20+ years ago, we peed into the floor sink while crammed together. The few toilets in the men's room at these places were either for a poo, of a father that had brought their daughter that was too young to be left alone. Also, there were some 'normal' places like restaurants and grocery stores that used to have them.
Yeah pretty much any that went to a few public toilets would know why men's are faster than women's; even with individuals urinals you can cram more of them than normal toilets Cinema sins is stupid for far too many reasond
Ok, here I was thinking women had it harder for having to take their children into the restroom, but I'd rather take a screaming kid or two into the toilet than have to stand shoulder-to-shoulder to use the Communal Toilet Floor! 😭🤣 Thanks for the perspective!
8:30 Lighting's decision is also based on the exiting truck having a low trailer: small rear wheels and lights all the way to the ground, just like the racing trailers. He wouldn't expect to see any other trucks like this and made the most informed decision he could.
Hey, you leave our UK Cars alone… Yes, Jeremy Clarkson has said he hates American cars, but he still said yes to doing this film, and American carmakers had no problem with letting him drive their new models… You have to respect him for putting his biases aside to do a localisation for a film…
WHY AM I JUST NOW LEARNING JEREMY CLARKSON IS IN CARS?!?! My childhood is a lie… My adulthood is lesser for not having experienced his GENIUS before I discovered Top Gear a few years later. I can hear his soothing and relaxing voice now… like velvet for my soul. “HAMMONDD!” “May! You IDIOT!” “POOOOWWWWEEER!” “Becuz… I’m a GENIUS, ‘Tis why…” Such wisdom. I’m off to go find a UK edition of Cars.
He did let his bias ruin what should've been a fun review of the LF-A. He had so much fun driving the car, but kept letting the fact that it was a Lexus bother him. I usually love Clarkson reviewing cars, but it was a bit obnoxious that he kept bringing up the car was a Lexus, when there was not much negative about it.
@@Sabre2JZ Because it was a Lexus, Toyota spent billions developing it, when it sold its price didn't even make up enough to justify making a profit. It was said so in every review he did, Hammonds first review, The California Trip, The Best Car in the World DVD. His bias is he loves the car, but the Lexus branding and while being expensive and still being slower than it's competitors is where his problem lies.
The sin about the long lines in women's restrooms really makes me feel as though either jeremy has been living under a rock, trying to go "how do you do, fellow kids?" to chronically online twitter people or both
Isn't it convenient that the movie's plot happens in the movie? Like, serious, using things from the real world. My father only met my mother because my aunt was dating my uncle who did Judo with my dad. So isn't it convenient that my father met my mother just because my dad did Judo?

I know this has nothing really to do with this video, but yesterday I broke my rule of not watching CS anymore because I found out they sinned Encanto, my favorite animated movie to come out recently, after eight months of cold turkey. It was about what I was expecting: they couldn't find anything actually wrong with it and spent all their sins on nitpicking trivial details. Literally half of them had me scratching my head trying to figure out how they'd reached the conclusion they did. However, there were two that made me extra salty: first, because the movie was popular they had a quota to meet, so they tacked on an additional 49 sins for each time Bruno was mentioned; which just felt like low hanging fruit, not like the entire internet has made that joke already. Second was during the emotional climax of the film they used their "skip" sin, then immediately turned around and said "This scene is really good and probably deserves a couple sins off, but we're sinning it anyway because everyone has been such an asshole to Mirabelle up to this point." Like, WHAT?!? I was genuinely baffled at that one when I heard it. That sin only further confirms my suspicion that Cinema Sins can't afford to care about the movie they're criticizing. They routinely ignore the emotional impact of a story (you know, the whole damn reason stories are told in the first fucking place!), because the moment they stop and sympathize their entire business model falls apart. Anyway, sorry Birdman for clogging up the comments with unrelated stuff, I just really needed to get it off my chest.
I like how it only took your favorite movie being sinned to realise Cinema Sin is garbage. No mean to disrespect... but kinda remind me of people who keep buying games from crooked publisher hoping it will be different this time.
16:13 as a norwegian, this almost happens every time to some degree without fail during winter olympics. Yeah, we don't shut things down, but I've had co-workers and classmates (depending on what stage in life I'm at) where they paused education and/or work to watch the competition. This could very well happen, it's just made into the extreme because *it's a cartoon and they can do that*
Oh yeah I remember everyone stopping to watch the Winter Olympics. That’s just a thing. Considering cars don’t seem likely to do other sports that must make racing an even bigger deal.
FINALLY! As a Nascar fan and racing enthusiast this Cinema Sins always bothered me. It always felt incredibly and unnecessarily unfair to Cars. Thank you for pointing out a lot of their asinine sins.
Don't know if I should consider it funny or ironic that CinemaSins specifically sins Chick for causing that big crash and then later on claims that the people watching the movie "like Chick better than Lightning". Just like with Lotso and Woody, Chick serves as an example of what McQueen would have become if the latter had gotten too caught up in his selfishness and arrogance, which would've happened if he hadn't accidentally wound up in Radiator Springs.
I always thought it was funny that in Cars 2, Lightning meets Lewis Hamilton, who’s pitting technique has famously been to make tires last longer than the other cars, thereby making it sustainable to not pit Lightning tried to use that same technique in this movie, but did it terribly which cost him the race
Although I liked all of the cars films (including cars 2 but gonna be honest I do believe it’s a bit weaker compared to the other cars movies) but I think the main reason is that comparing to the movies that came out before and after it falls a bit short (even though it’s sad since I loved the cars movies but hey it’s not everyone’s cup of tea)
Say what you want about it but 9 year old me and 9 year old everyone in my school absolutely loved Cars 2 and it still holds a special place in my heart
Cars 2 is my favorite is has such a fun plot, fun characters, great score by micheal giachino. There isn't alot of racing in it but the movie is called cars not race
also to add on at 6:30 runners are tired after big races, that's how that works, so if it was a big distance race, then the runners need a break before their next race, and a week is a reasonable break time
16:15 in regards to shutting down for a race... Has he ever heard of the Super Bowl? I work retail, and while the store never closed, it might as well have, because it was dead as hell!
I finally figured out, I think why the quality has fallen at cinemasins. It is because movie gets divided among 5-6 writers and then they write whatever they want to write with no context of rest of the movie. Then someone arranges the best parts a writing team writes the script and finally Jeremy comes in vomits the whole script and leaves.
15:01 Isn't the whole point of these scenes to show that McQueen actually cares about the Radiator's springs people now? He is supporting their business and taking gifts with himself.
(5:00) Until 2003, NASCAR had a rule called “Race back to the caution” where the placement for the restart after green flag racing resumed was determined by where cars were at the line. This let Robby Gordon who was in second at the time of the caution race back to restart in first. So this scene could be considered accurate if you want to interpret when the scene was animated and whatnot.
I remember seeing a comment on a CinemaSins video once like "You know the movie's bad when the CinemaSins on it turns into a summary." The problem is, every video is now a summary, essentially, making it sound like CinemaSins has just started hating the art of cinema itself.
@@dbseamz I honestly don’t know. A corvette is a close resemblance to McQueen in real life or when trying to recreate him in Forza Horizon but it never really said if he’s a corvette, at least, I don’t think. Idk I could be wrong
Sometimes I wonder who loses more brain cells whenever CinemaSins posts a video, Birdman for having to listen to his fallen idols lie out their dumb asses. Or Jeremy’s own brain trying to make sense of his thought process without killing itself.
Cars is one of, if not Pixar’ best films ever. I literally grew up with this movie and fell in love with it. The Cars universe really only works in the first film. Also the line “fam the Olympics exist in our universe and the sprints are arguably the best part.” got me smiling. Good job on my man, you managed to make a video I’m DEFINITELY going to like.
"Why would running be such a big sport in this world?" idk what other sports he expects CARS to even be able to play lol, they don't exactly have the most versatile anatomy
11:14 YOU’RE A CORVETTE GUY! Man you and Cars Director John Lasseter would get along real nicely considering John is a Chevy Guy and they make the Corvettes.
Sin 51: Jeremy has never watched a player come back from a season ending injury. More often than not, they don't return to the form they were prior to the injury.
7:02 Sounds like Jeremy also hasn't been to Boston. That South Bay Interchange is a bitch to deal with sometimes. Or the Dolphin-Palmetto Interchange in Miami for that matter.
The best part about this movie is if ur familiar with nascar you’ll recognize references. The King is a reference to Richard Petty who’s nickname to this day is the king, Darrel Cartrip is voiced by Darrel Waltrip, Chick Hicks is a reference to Dale Earnhardt(his grill mustache is what gave it away)
And the next gen racers in cars 3 are voiced by Ryan Blaney, Bubba Wallace, Chase Elliott, Daniel Suarez, and I think there is more I just can't think of them off the top of my head
Thank you for this! In my opinion, Cars is one of the Pixar masterpieces; and the movies were my entire childhood, no joke. I’ve seen Cinema Sin’s videos before, and I don’t think they really, truly understand the art of movies, especially after making fun of so many people’s hours of hard work. So, thank you for this! :D
15:32 Regardless of whether or not it makes sense, if you're offered Jeremy Clarkson as a VC choice , you go with Jeremy Clarkson That said, while Jezza does hate most american cars, there are rare examples that he likes such as the Corvette and Mustang/Shelby
Jeremy is more American than he admits. During TGGT S3 Ep1 he says that deep down everyone likes Muscle Cars, and has respect for Vipers, Ford GTs, the RTR Mustangs, Corvettes, etc. Hell, he even dresses like he's from Georgia half the time with this boots he loves to wear.
He loves uniquely american cars, he just loves to make fun of them. It also works doubly well because he's an entertainer and it works very very well for him.
Hey Th3Birdman hopefully it’s not too much, but if you ever do Eww Cinemasins Finding Nemo, you should add a sin for Cinemasins when they didn’t remove a sin for the “In memory of Glenn McQueen” much like how they didn’t remove a sin for “ Dedicated to Joe Ranft” in their video of this film. I know that sounds pushy, but dang it these people poured their heart and soul in the movies and got taken away from this harsh world too early and are entitled to the respect and praise they so rightfully deserve.
17:21 I’d also like to note that’s a pre-Dale Earnhardt death Fontana track, meaning that there’s no yellow line and by extension no rule about the line so his pass wouldn’t be against the rules.
2:45 It's the same thing as us having our cells that die and get replaced all the time and in 9 or so years all are completely replaced but it's still you
You also missed a "wait, what was that?" sin. At 10:07, I heard Jeremy mess up on "district attorney". I was like, "wait, what was that?" (plays clip again) "One more time" (plays clip again) "dis-critch?" "Dis-critch, dis-critch, (in slow motion) dis-critch."
8:16 i feel like lightning decided to get off because (from his perspective) mack might be getting off the highway to stop (despite what he said to mack earlier)
Perhaps they were horses before and evolved into cars over time. Or you could go with the wild and excessively dark fan theory that the cars murdered their human occupants and eliminated all humans, taking on their personalities.
Probably because just like Jeremy you completely misunderstand this world and not even paying attention to the movie literally everything in this world are all the creatures on earth except there just the human made vehicles and in this movie there was tractor Tipping scene where basically the tractors are cows and in one of the mater tall tales shorts you can see that there are bulls except there bulldozers and bugs aren't an exception the lighting bug are the Volkswagen Beatle HOW ARE PEOPLE SO CONFUSED BY THIS
The Isaiah Thomas analogy to Doc hits hard. Like Doc, Thomas was a heartwarming success story and defied all expectations but in the end, was tossed once he received a season ending injury.
At 10:50, Jeremy calls it a “Nightmare”. It’s not a nightmare, because it happens outside, in the sunlight, at like 11 am. That’s not a nightmare, that’s a bad daydream.
13:10 _"Lightning literally hit on Sally in her first scene, of course he likes her._ _You think a man needs more than 50 words to know if he likes a woman?_ *_I mean a Porche?_* I'll be honest, that one got me.
3:35 As he says this, going to the bathroom could pretty much be compared to an oil change as the extraction of the oil happens at the bottom in out world, and as seen in Cars 2, toilets appear to be on the floor (unless because they were in japan where they have the squat toilet but I digress)
Another point on the Delinquent Road Hazards (the "neon cars"). With the way Chick goaded Lightning into trying to get to California first, it's implied that Chick hired the Road Hazards to harass Mack while he was tired to sabotage Lightning and keep him from arriving in time for the race. Whether the rumble strip/bobblehead thing was deliberate in any way, I'm not sure, but it may not be as contrived as Jeremy is making it out to be.

@SciFi Author B.L. Alley this is my favorite Pixar movie, I love the whole trilogy
@Author B.L. Alley just saying I'm an "average guy" and I got all the little references, their not that subtle
How could it have possibly taken me over a decade to realize that "ka-chow" is just an onomonopia for a lightning strike.
You’re better at this than Cinema Sins!
Why can't you believe it? Did you make that up or something? If you didn't then it shouldn't be a surprise that people agree with you
The criticism of a fan is always more accurate and enjoyable than any criticism of a hater, and for that I appreciate you
It always fascinates me how much Jeremy tries to have it both ways with regard to virtue signalling.
Especially in his harry potter sins videos he keeps talking about how an underage emma stone is to young to be hot and its just so gross and not funny
he's got a redditors take on things
Completely forgot that Jeremy thought that Batman v Superman thought it would outgross a Marvel movie based on the fact it had Batman and Superman in it without establishing a franchise.
Even though they deleted it, someone else re-posted it.

Many NASCAR tracks still have these. I'd imagine a lot of high school/college football stadiums use them as well.
Yeah pretty much any that went to a few public toilets would know why men's are faster than women's; even with individuals urinals you can cram more of them than normal toilets
Cinema sins is stupid for far too many reasond
Ok, here I was thinking women had it harder for having to take their children into the restroom, but I'd rather take a screaming kid or two into the toilet than have to stand shoulder-to-shoulder to use the Communal Toilet Floor! 😭🤣 Thanks for the perspective!
This was worth the wait. Thank you for finally doing this one, I watched it too many times for my own good way back then lmao

8:30 Lighting's decision is also based on the exiting truck having a low trailer: small rear wheels and lights all the way to the ground, just like the racing trailers. He wouldn't expect to see any other trucks like this and made the most informed decision he could.
I only now noticed in the first scene the rubber pick up flying off the cars' tyres. Love the attention to detail.
My childhood is a lie…
My adulthood is lesser for not having experienced his GENIUS before I discovered Top Gear a few years later.
I can hear his soothing and relaxing voice now… like velvet for my soul.
“HAMMONDD!”
“May! You IDIOT!”
“POOOOWWWWEEER!”
“Becuz… I’m a GENIUS, ‘Tis why…”
Such wisdom.
@@Sabre2JZ plus he called the gumpert Apollo "ugly"

Because it was a Lexus, Toyota spent billions developing it, when it sold its price didn't even make up enough to justify making a profit.
It was said so in every review he did, Hammonds first review, The California Trip, The Best Car in the World DVD.
His bias is he loves the car, but the Lexus branding and while being expensive and still being slower than it's competitors is where his problem lies.
Well he dosent actually completely hate american cars. For instance he enjoys muscle cars. Making fun of american stuff is for entertainment.
Apparently, the willing suspension of disbelief is a foreign concept for Jeremy.
The sin about the long lines in women's restrooms really makes me feel as though either jeremy has been living under a rock, trying to go "how do you do, fellow kids?" to chronically online twitter people or both

Isn't it convenient that the movie's plot happens in the movie?

That Harry Potter American/British version call out was my favorite call out here. It actually flew over my head a few times before I got it.
@liaspeaks Different versions of this same movie like Harry Potter has different versions. In the clip the document & Hermoine say 'Sorcerer's Stone' for the States, meanwhile the Brits changed nothing so the document & Hermoine say 'Philospher's Stone'.
Is this because of America's weird disdain with Witchcraft
@@purpledragon1945 Nah it's because the publishing company Scholastic thought that kids from the States wouldn't want to read a book with Philospher in the title.

Your passion is felt. I haven't watched Encanto yet, and will wait for CinemaWins to take it on👌🏾
I like how it only took your favorite movie being sinned to realise Cinema Sin is garbage. No mean to disrespect... but kinda remind me of people who keep buying games from crooked publisher hoping it will be different this time.

Guys don't you just hate it when studios who paid millions to get the movie made want there name displayed before the movie starts.
Earnhardt's pass in the grass was another thing to add to the list of things that made him badass. May he rest in peace
I always thought it was funny that in Cars 2, Lightning meets Lewis Hamilton, who’s pitting technique has famously been to make tires last longer than the other cars, thereby making it sustainable to not pit
Lightning tried to use that same technique in this movie, but did it terribly which cost him the race
How did Jeremy not notice that when he’s sinning the first movie? Lol. Plus, I think he’ve done a CinemaSins vid on Cars 2, so.

2nd movie was not crap if you think of it as a parody movie.
@@phantom765 Well, I prefer Mater not in the main role
I love how you used a picture of Mary Jane when comparing the differences between a road car and a race car, that’s a power move right there
I finally figured out, I think why the quality has fallen at cinemasins.
It is because movie gets divided among 5-6 writers and then they write whatever they want to write with no context of rest of the movie. Then someone arranges the best parts a writing team writes the script and finally Jeremy comes in vomits the whole script and leaves.
Finally, a explanation!
Jeremy getting his tiny brains handed back to him. Always a great way to start the work day.
15:01
Isn't the whole point of these scenes to show that McQueen actually cares about the Radiator's springs people now?

I’ve seen a comment that says that a female car was racing in the first Cars movie, too.

Okay, so it took a good 12 seconds for me to get this joke/observation, fucking brilliant
And the only tracks it applies to are Daytona and Talledega

Another point on the Delinquent Road Hazards (the "neon cars"). With the way Chick goaded Lightning into trying to get to California first, it's implied that Chick hired the Road Hazards to harass Mack while he was tired to sabotage Lightning and keep him from arriving in time for the race. Whether the rumble strip/bobblehead thing was deliberate in any way, I'm not sure, but it may not be as contrived as Jeremy is making it out to be.
