Sin: This movie was made to bring awareness to the blue macaws who were going extinct . They went extinct anyway and efficiently broke my heart and made me dislike people even more .

yeah, and the second movie destroys their whole point about blue macaws being near/being extinct in the wild. they have a whole freaking colony in the movie. they had more focus on *illegal* tree cutting, (even if legal tree cutting would have been perfect to shed light on how precious forests can be destroyed legally)
I confirm what mothman said : extinct in the wild, but they were 160 in captivity in 2018, with 146 of them living in the same place (in germany) and successfully breeding together.
I looked at rio and was like: “oh yeah I like that movie”
I watch this now and remember how DARK this movie was

Rio and Rio 2 were really good movies, and they were supposed to show the effects of climates being ruined etc. Also Blue’s species only has like 50 birds in captivity. Extinct in the wild as of January 2020
I watched that movie and the most that I got from it was the confusion of a singer calling himself "Will.i.am".

I’d break it down into genera, but not all “early humans” belonged to the same genus.
Either way, you’re saying that an animal eating an animal from the same family is like an animal eating an animal from the same class, which is a significantly more general classification. To reiterate, it’s an illogical comparison.

I mean to be fair Linda being concerned for Blu and Blu missing Linda is a somewhat accurate portrayal of Bird owners as most birds will bond specifically to the one person who spends the most time with them, I say this as a bird owner myself, they will be sadden if their bonded owner/mate is gone or out of sight, occasionally lol.
I can't with all the comments that go "This bird is extinct now :(" when the Spinx's Macaw (aka Little Blue Macaw) is not, in fact, extinct. Considered extinct in the wild, yes, but they have a whole bunch in captive and have a breeding program going so that they can re-introduce the species into the wild at some point (estimated time being 2021).

Pretty much... when you boil this movie down you have 3 plotlines interwoving in a simple logical way that all resolve virtually simultaniously, the most extranious of the three was Linda and Tulios. Rio 2 is well... Three seperated climaxes: Soccer, Human fight, Nigels.... performance? And each of the 6 plot resolve seperately, and two of them are still incomplete, Nico and Pedro hadnt returned to Rio. And we never saw the kids interact with either of their parents since right after arriving.
I think what happened was four rough drafts were scripted to see what was best and, someone, just like in a good compromise, squashed em all together
This video make me remember all the feelings I had when I saw this movie for the first time. I was about 9 years old and this one was the first big budget long movie that my parents bought for me and that I really loved. I don't remember how many time I watched it again and again before forgot it until now.
I loved the graphics, it was the first time for me I saw such a beautiful film.
Even with my unknoledge of love at this age the romance between Blu and Jewel was cute and so lovely, I felt the love beteewn these two fictives characters so much, i still don't know how to describe it (... even if, now, I realize that was really a weird and basic romance BUT I was young so WHATEVER).
The idea of flying in the air and don't belong of anything. I always felt like stuck in a hole with my famly. Each days was all the same with no freedom at all until I saw Rio. This movie really make me dream about my liberty and ... being a ... a f*****g bird ? ... ... (I was young ok ?)
That movie bring many good feelings to me, I'm glad that I saw it.
( And now I realize that I write much much more than I was supposed to do on this, so I'll stop.)
Also, I don't know if I'll rewatch this movie seriously. I'm a little scared about be dissapointed and don't enjoy the movie anymore like I did a way long before.
It’s still good, it’s obviously made for a younger audience but if you ignore the scenes with Julio its fine to watch it when you’re older

Lol I was almost offended by the "bird person" bit until I remembered that my parrot frequently rides around in my shirt and I answer the door with her little head poking out the collar.
I can see the pet sitting thing from Linda's perspective. Parrots aren't dogs and need different care. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there was no one in her small town that knew how to care for birds. Hell, she probably has to drive to the nearest city to find an avian vet! Also, bird people are nuts, remember? Why would we trust anyone but ourselves with our feathery children?
He also doesn't seem to have watched any documentaries about endangered animals or he'd realize that, when it comes to preserving a species that's dying out, conservationists are all up in that animal's sex life.

They flap their wings, glide, flap, glide - in straight line. Not actually the aces of maneuverability. Parrots, parakeets or other macaws (also incredibly aestethic) would make better teachers. Also, ridiculous plumes in his rear head.
