100% fact. I wish I realized this earlier in my first marriage. When your never good enough (for her), never do something the right way (how she does it), or quick enough (in her eyes). Over time you realize there are no victories. You fight valiantly, you were able to articulate wording objectively without casting blame or pointing fingers, you are still 100% at fault. She is unable to accept any responsibility or blame. Once you learn this lesson the next skill you learn is shutting down and become desensitized with all relationships. You learn to not bark back and clam up. You may bark back logic, reasons, or whatever from time to time while you are developing these new coping skills. You shut down and find no joy in life even with things you were once passionate about. The worst is when you completely bury yourself in work outside of the house. Work becomes your sanctuary. You know she will be heated when you come home late but you are now numb to this and know you are going to catch it anyways so those additional hours in your sanctuary are 100% worth it. I could definitely go on and on about this. I lived this for over a decade. Not ever feeling welcomed in my own home. The home where your heart was once filled with joy but now is only filled with blackness.

We go together and I'm off doing my thing, she forgets something, now I'm irresponsible, don't care, can't be there for my woman and stupid for letting her forget what she needed. My son and I have been solo 2 years now. Perfect attendance, all grades over 90. No more abuse, no more being punched in the back of the head for me. Just a mutual understanding and a peace in the house that we never got when she was around.

If they want another to do something or not do something, they can ask politely. Same goes for management at jobs by the way. "Hey, I need you to do this." and "Can you do that?" Those are fine but I'm a grown man just like my boss is. Some get it twisted and think their higher position in the hierarchy means a lot. A bigger paycheck to go with more responsibilities. One of those responsibilities is getting others to do what you need done and a superior attitude will not accomplish that. The people "under" will just quit and then nothing is getting done. We go together and I'm off doing my thing, she forgets something, now I'm irresponsible, don't care, can't be there for my woman and stupid for letting her forget what she needed. My son and I have been solo 2 years now. Perfect attendance, all grades over 90. No more abuse, no more being punched in the back of the head for me. Just a mutual understanding and a peace in the house that we never got when she was around.

My daddy would NEVER PUT up with this shit!! He was my example. As a woman I expect a man to not put up with crazy behavior! There are times I have acted crazy like this, my husband laughs and looks at me and says, "babe seriously?" I felt so embarrassed I stopped immediately! Point? Sometimes women act crazy u gotta just calmly stand up! They will respect you❤️ if they love you still and if they respect themselves at all.

I've seen my narc sister break down a man over a slow and long period of time. I've seen my strong, fight-trained bikey bro get put in hospital by his narc wife(whom he's left now) she had been using their infant children to control him.
Abuse can be subtle until its too big for them to fight. That's just how it is.

To get mad at a man for being abused is victim blaming. Instead offer advice on how he can seek help rather then shaming him for speaking about his troubles at all. This is how you continue the cycle of men pretending nothings wrong while they're being mistreated or going through something hard.
