I have the Aura helmet arriving shortly and seriously considering this backpack to go with it. Thank you for the concise review.

Thank you 👍🏻 It’s become my go-to laptop bag even when I’m not on the bike. Would absolutely recommend!

Never heard of the brand, but looks like they have thought of everything for this backpack! Seems like a must for those commuter cyclists!

Hey Mark, question from the States. I just saw the measurements and I’m a bit concerned on the depth and height. Seems a bit small but I’m loving the design. How did you feel on the capacity? Could I use this as a gym/work backpack?

Hello mate. Yep, it could stand to be a touch bigger, but I've been using it daily commuting from home to my studio. It's usually got my laptop/tablet/battery bank, plus my camera, mouse, headphones etc, and occasionally some clothing too. I put a camera insert in the main compartment to add a bit of padding. Would definitely work for a gym backpack but perhaps not big enough to carry separate shoes in.

I appreciate the response man. I really hope they come up with a 25L. Awesome design and awesome review. Maybe in the future if they had a bigger pack. Thanks man.

UK Buyers Beware - Great review but glossed over the fact that there is UK VAT to be paid along with an import handling fee. This means, at the current cost of £250 as per the Unit1 site, an additional £65 tax has to be paid making it an eyewatering £310 ..... for a backpack with a light. Also, as a final kick in the teeth, they advertise it as 'Tax Paid' and so I was not aware of this until the delivery company contacted me demanding payment of the tax prior to delivery. I informed Unit1 of this over 2 weeks ago now and they still have not changed their order form or even warned UK customers of this. The backpack itself is great, although a little on the small side - everything could do with being about 20% bigger. Nicely put together though with lots of thoughtful bits and pieces - just dont try fitting a pair of size 10 shoes into the 'wet' sack at the bottom.

Thanks for highlighting this. And yikes, what a nightmare. Definitely worth checking this out before purchasing if you’re in the UK.

Mine has just arrived. Nice checking out all the compartments and secret bits. Have charged the back like so it is all bright green. But can't find out how to connect. Just have the app to work with the FARO. I also have the indicator switch. Pressing the on button on the bar light does not do any switching. Am I going to find there is a separate app for use with the Torch Backpack. Best Dave

Just as a ps. That pocket you suggested for a passport. is a bit too shallow, so you can't zip it. Seems it is soft lined for sunglasses. :0)

Hi Dave. Good news is it’s not a separate app. As I had an advance copy I had to download a beta version of the regular unit 1 app so that all the Torch light features and syncing were available. Would recommend contacting Unit1 so that you can access the right version of the app. All the pairing happens using the app.

@@dave20thmay thanks for the PS! Yep, I think sunglasses or a pair of earbuds are a likely contender for that one.

@@ThatMarkGilroy It's getting late, but have found out why I could not connect Torch to phone and FARO was I did not know about there being a new App which I've now downloaded. One slight downer is the switch on the bar light takes a lot of pressure and about switches would be nice if the button on the back of the helmet was easier to feel and turn off without removing the helmet. Almost impossible to do by touch. Best Dave

@dave20thmay Glad you found it Dave and hopefully all connected now. Yes, that button on the helmet is tricky to find by touch (completely impossible with gloves on). Wonder if the Aura helmet has fixed this problem?

Five people stopped me during the b-roll filming for this and asked me where to buy it!! Which is crazy but also there was a storm outside!
