I'm an oak addict. I love those store pick Knob Creek single barrels in the 12 to 14 year range. As strong as they are, they're still sippable neat. Every little sip is like sucking on a lozenge. BOOM, the finish on those goes on forever. Also, at least by me, those extra old 120+ proof single barrels are $15 cheaper than this new 100 proof 12 yr small batch.
I picked up this new 12 year and the new 9 year about 3 weeks ago. I went back and bought a back up of the 9 year. The 9 is quite tasty and really pops with flavors.
the 9 used to be the standard and a few years ago they had to remove the 9 year age statement to meet demand, only just now reintroducing it! We need to pick it up as well.
Great Job guys.. saw it for 50 yesterday and just couldn't pull the trigger. All I could think of was the 13-15 year Single barrel store picks that I paid less than 50 for sitting at the house
I have one of those Knob Creek 120 store picks that was 14y 9m when bottled. It is top shelf for sure. I thought this 12y was going to be 120 proof. Oh Well, I bet it's good. Cheers!
You guys are just hilarious. The fact that you highlighted these super negative comments is genius!........Who else does this??...........No One thats who!.....Slainte'
I really enjoy the the Knob Creek 12 year, but it is a little Oak forward. I think that if a store pick was available in the same store I would definitely grab the pick over this one just a better value, but all in all I think this one is a solid pour. Great review guys!! Cheers!!🥃
Its a good one, good sipper, good value. I have noticed that the oxidation doesnt make it better, it makes it sour and not so enjoyable. Kudos guys!!!!
I liked this one more than you guys. For me, the oak walked right up to the astringent line, but didn't cross it. Drinks hotter than its proof, almost reminds me of a barrel proof.
I was going to troll Bart for his very poor score of 2 in your 32 burger eating record attempt but I found the video too entertaining and actually went out and bought one. I hope you were on commission!
So far I’m not impressed with the Knob Creek 12 year, it seemed off profile from standard Knob. At 12 I was hoping for alot more wood impact, but I just don’t get it here. Matter of fact I get more oak from Booker’s, than I do this Knob 12. Hopefully with some time it gets better, otherwise I’ll stick with the nine year single barrel & store pick single barrel Knobs. I can’t help but think if they bottled this at 120, that oak would have showed up more and carried some more flavour & finish. Sláinte Bart & Scott!

There is so much variability in Glenfarclas... I have an open 25 right now and there is very little oak flavor (or sherry flavor for that matter). I was extremely underwhelmed; it tastes, to me, like there are a lot of dead casks in the rotation over there. :-(
The oak is strong in this one. No Shit Leroy (Bart) it's a 12 year old Bourbon WTF! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😋 hope to be included in the pantheon of negative comment idiots! Cheers boys.
A nice heavy pour with a good book and a few hours of quite time is a perfect evening
You and me Pizza could hang out. Exactly.
The innuendos is strong. LOL
that happens sometimes!
i drink the shit outa this 12 year, $52 out the door here in NY. mix a little 9 and 12 in a decanter, so good

Taking hard wood, knobs, and pies...never know what you're gonna get with these Dummies. Cheers fellas
we've had several knobs!

could be, we'll be reviewing the 15 year soon
Belchmaster Scott, I saw the original Burger video and your utterance was way louder and longer👍😄 steady as you go!
Bart is grossed out by burps. Farts don't bother him though.

Maybe a barrel proof version would work better.
that could do it.

Bart hates the strong, hard wood -- especially when it comes to the Knob. Just call him Mr Softy. Oaky Fear -- great band name!

want to taste strong oak, try glenfarclas 25, 30

haha! i don't know if thats mean enough
As long as I'm getting the KC SiB 120 proof store picks at 12-14 years old and $41 I'll keep passing on this, only seen it for $69
nothing wrong with the store picks at all jimidrammer!
I've located KCSB store pics, but they're just 9 years 4 months old. Priced at $46.99, should I hold out until older versions appear?
Cool Whip is crap! Stick to the real stuff!
agreed!
first, lol
