      The Toyota Land Cruiser best automobile ever made I have a 96 Lexus a 97 Lexus LX 450 and a 96 Land Cruiser I bought the 97 two years ago with 200,000 for 2700 and Drove it over 20,000 miles with only oil changes drives like new never breaks down look on craigslist and you won’t see a Toyota Land Cruiser with less than 200,000 and lots with 400 500,000 miles no joke they’re all made to last and they do guaranteed

      That's not worth really mentioning with a toyota/Lexus. When they are over 600k it's worth nodding in approval. TH-cam the million mile tundra and the 1.2 million mile tacoma to name a couple

    • @fireblazer6661
      @fireblazer6661 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I've seen a lot of toyota's with a million. Seen one Nissan truck with over a million too, which was shocking. Saw a few Nissan Pathfinders with 500-600,000 as well. But Toyota's can go a LONG time if they're very well taken care of and maintained.@@pryme2013

    I'd check the fluids in your transmission, transfer case, and differentials after going through deep water. Each of those usually have a breather tube, and most people don't know that you should extend those tubes to higher up on your vehicle if you plan on doing deep water crossing. Otherwise you get water in the cases and can ruin them.

    • @ttiization

    Snorkels are for so much more than water. They actually keep the the air box cleaner by sucking clean air from up high instead of down in the dust. Think more of a cold air intake. This the reason they are so popular in Australia. Great videos!

    These Land Cruisers are insane. When Katrina hit Mississippi my aunt and uncle owned one of these with a snorkel and used it to get back and forth to their house or what was left of it. It would easily drive through two or three feet of water. They would have to stop and get out and cut trees out of the way that had fallen across the road. I believe it had well over 250,000 miles at that point and still ran perfectly.

      nothing im going to assume. Im going to assume he will let the car sit for 2 weeks and make a video of him opening it up to the stench of mold everywhere and every electrical component fried and rusted. leaving him to either strip the whole thing out and turning into a dedicated rock crawler (which its got too wide of a wheelbase to really be good at.) or scrap it.

    This is a late comment, but here it goes. The snorkel is not generally meant for underwater driving. It is meant for getting clean, cool air from up above the dust. I do however live in the US Southwest, so take that with a grain of salt. We ran out of H2O years ago...

    In Dubai - we went "dune bashing" in Land Cruiser. The driver lets air out of the tires, then we go like hell! Up and down the sand dunes, fully loaded with 5 adults. There was a convoy of 35-50 Cruisers, up and down the dunes, I LOVED it, scared me as we slipped down the dunes, then the driver mashes the petal and we zip up and over-taking air a few times. These Cruisers do 2 or more trips a day, punishing the Cruiser, just fantastic!

    the Toyota Land Cruiser / Prado / Nissan Patrol are basically the only vehicles you will find in the Aussie Outback. If you keep up that offroading you will need yourself a nice set of waterproof canvas seat covers - they are kidproof too :) You would fit right in down under. Many water crossings down here should you choose. as a general rule of thumb, you should try to walk through the water crossing to check the depth first, then do drive... Just make sure there are no crocs around

      nope.....the cooling system is sealed and even if water got in there, ummm is 50% water anyways
      He didn't go deep enough to get any in the crankcase and most vehicles these days have o ring seals on the diptick tube anyways.
      Same as the trans: I doubt he went anywhere deep enough to get any in the trans filler tube
      Brakes are sealed, if they weren't, he wouldn't be able to stop
      Power steering fluid: if he got water in there he wouldn't have power steering before because it works on hydraulic pressure.
      rear end: they are sealed and if he got water in there, he'd have had leaks before he went into the water.....
      I used to live on a flood plain and drove my F150 through water 1/3 of the way up the doors and never had a problem.

    Dude. You were SO lucky not to flip the LX in that water, or drown it. You should always test the depth first before driving through any type of deep water. Also, doesn’t it have a rear locking differential? If not, you need to install one if you’re doing more off-roading. Get some off-road training before you do any more in it. It’s very easy for stuff to go majorly wrong and injury to occur.

I sold it with almost 300k hard miles on it & it ran as smooth as the day I bought it; truly amazing vehicle. Probably the best vehicle I've ever owned & miss it every time it snows or I get the urge to go off roading. Would like to relive those experiences, just don't think the 2017 Murano will cut it, haha.

I drive it every day, go off-road for weeks at a time every summer (where I am from, Mongolia, in the countryside we mostly have dirt roads). I have some custom stuff like yours and some more. In Mongolia, Land Cruiser is very popular because it is reliable and has very good off-road capabilities. I know it is not very popular in the US, but it is, and similar models are, the go-to choice for a reliable SUV.

    We bought a 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser when the birth of my little brother happened so we’d have enough seats. Me plus three siblings plus my mom and dad we just needed more than our 2003 impala. We didn’t know we bought a tank. I no longer live with them but my parents still have it to this day. 270k miles on it. Thing is unstoppable. It’s kind of trashed down for my dad driving it to work and the work he does but it’s still as mean as it was the day we got it. It towed a cow trailer that normally a big diesel tows full of cows and a bull. Sure other trucks and suvs might can do that but it did it without struggle. Felt like you were driving on a normal day without hauling anything. In addition to that it towed that trailer full of cows through a piece of land our cows had walked through so much it was like a little canyon. It’s a monster and I have offered to buy it from my dad who wants to sell it because it’s too much of a tank to just sell to some guy on the street.

    As a snorkel haver myself, I'll just say, if you keep the ECUs dry, you're fine.

    You got the snorkel but did you get sealed wheel bearings? Your bearings will be shot in no time.

      Sealed wheel bearings? First I've heard of that. But you should let your car cool before going in.

    Land Cruiser is indeed the best off-road and reliable vehicle of the world. No wonder they are the choosen vehicles of UN, United Nations.

      or maybe Toyota gives UN a nice discount so you can think what you just mentioned

    • @Trident_Euclid
      @Trident_Euclid 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A Z Yup. Here in the middle east. Corporations get very larg discounts for LC's or the Hilux. It's not really about the reliability but the availability. You don't care if the vehicle braking because you have so many of them at cheap prices.

      A Z The basic trims has no special features or luxury and they still make them as basic as the early 90's too models. Less things to be broken and lighter vehicles.

    my dad and I burried his '88 land cruiser in a developing neighborhood's water ditch. Had to leave it there overnight, water pouring in the interior, had to call a friend to get his truck to pull it out, and still ran until it got totalled. Can confirm, land cruiser is the best car ever made

    • @instakillgaming

      OH almost forgot to mention. After it got totalled, we DROVE it to the junkyard. Without a problem.
