    I think that Lexus is pure genius. You have ten grand invested in a cool vehicle that is dual purpose. If you took ten grand to a dealer, most people would end up with a low mileage boring Honda or Hyundai. You have something that brings you enjoyment when you drive it. It's not always about the monetary return on your investment, sometimes it's the emotional return. It you enjoy it, it's priceless.

At this age they were fitted with a two pinion front diff that had a particularly weakly supported crown wheel that doesn't like being stressed in reverse. From 2000 or 2001 on they had a stronger four pinion diff fitted.

    • @aabidamn
      @aabidamn 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Based on consumer reports, the worst reliable brand at the moment is BMW, followed by Audi. Out of 100 BMW, they found 200 faults (mainly electrical). As for the most reliable, believe it or not, the title goes to KIA.

    • @lukaszuryk527
      @lukaszuryk527 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      aabidam really? I just checked 2018 reliability by make and BMW is in top 6 as most reliable ( which i find not really believable) but land rover was dead last, only chrysler is worst from LR

    • @epiccheese911
      @epiccheese911 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      aabidam almost all Kias on the streets are new cars whereas half of the Toyotas that you see date more than a decade, that's why Kia is reliable, give those Kias 6 more years to live and you'll start seeing the faults. Most of these consumer reports are irrelevant because they're almost all based off 1 year ownership reports, I own a 2014 E350 and it hasn't had one fault since 2014 and most reports say that Mercs are very unreliable, reports should be done on a term of at least 3 years... It is pretty easy to understand why BMW and Audi take the 1st and 2nd place, it's because they're pioneers in the motoring industry, they always innovate so it's normal to have faults, but Range Rover from what I know hasn't created much since the 90s.

    • @87khizar
      @87khizar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      shahram72 you should look into the main purpose of the snorkel. It’s #1 use is not water crossings lol

  • @Carstuff111
    @Carstuff111 6 ปีที่แล้ว +233

    Revving the engine did nothing... since you are this far into it, you need to replace the exhaust with something with a bit more burble, let the V8 breath, and actually make some noise.

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Carstuff111 That’s his trademark, I don’t think it has anything to do with the exhaust note, just a goofy thing he does (he warms them up before hand).

    • @Carstuff111
      @Carstuff111 6 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      Still needs an exhaust, that poor V8 sounds pitiful.

    That's a beautiful truck Tyler! I've been wanting an LS430 or LX470 for quite some time now. I was truly spoiled when I owned a 2015 Lexus RC-F for a year and a half. The 5.0 v8 and creature comforts truly spoiled me. I took it to my local Lexus dealer exclusively, and she was babied. Although i did give her the hammer a few times with 467 hp on tap and a 7300 Red Line :)
    The older Lexus' are true gems, and will run forever if kept up with maintenance/work etc.. Great bit with the off-roading as well!!
