When she decides to make her move she will claim he threatened her and get a restraining order barring him from the residence. During the 6 weeks or so it will take for him to get a hearing to argue against the restraining order she will have sold off his hooptie fleet and anything else she can and he will have no recourse for it because legally she can do so. His so called friends will buy his fire sale hoopties and one or two will be banging his wife. As smart as he is at accumulating wealth his stupidest decision ever was to get married.

His first Cruiser video came out right in the middle of my search last year and I was worried, but there's already so much competition for these things, especially the Land Cruiser version, that if its a good one it will be gone within a couple of days of listing. People on the forums have cash in hand and are ready to buy plane tickets to go view some rigs. I personally took 4-months to find a good one because they either all had rusty undercarriages (ALWAYS check this in pics first) or simply disappeared by the time I got on the phone. If you're looking on the used market, definitely check out the first gen Highlander. Not too sure about the longevity of 2019 model, but its due for a refresh soon. My parents gave me the old family 04 Highlander as my first car, still going strong with over 310,000km and my mom upgraded to a 2017 Volvo XC90, and boy does she regret that. Less than 30,000km on the Volvo and its been in the shop almost as many times as the Highlander has had over the years for routine maintenance.

Great vehicles - for the past 15 years, I've only bought pre-owned vehicles and that's when I quickly learned to stick with Lexus/Toyota. They hold their value very well, are highly capable and extremely reliable. Currently I've got an LX 570 as my daily driver - plenty of room for the kids and their friends or their sports gear - very comfortable, good tech features and in a few years when I've got an empty nest, I'll probably get a used RCF as a daily driver and keep the LX for weekend fun and do all the stupid things like rock sliders, bull bumper, winch, etc.

    3 things to clear up:
    1. a Land Cruiser is a 4wd (or 4x4) not an SUV
    2. a snorkel doesn't just raise the air intake level so you get cleaner air, a properly fitted snorkel also prevents water ingress into your engine when driving through deeper water, does not stop water from getting into the cabin.
    3. That big thing on the front is actually not called a bumper bar, that is infact called a bull bar.
300,000 mile on a petrol is really good but is just being run in on a diesel engine

They do break, and each model has different weaknesses (1HZ, expect to rebuilding your power steering pump alot, early V8 diesels....enjoy replacing that starter motor....newer V8 diesels.....yeah emissions controls), point is they aren't indestructible but they are a damn reliable and good car. The Highlander ranked the highest in terms of original owners keeping their car for more than 15 years. 18.3% of Highlanders 15 years or older are still being driven by their original owners! The Land Cruiser surprisingly isn't on the list, probably due to the low number they sell in the US and its thriving second-hand and export market.

No, a snorkel is used for water. Partially the reason why it's called snorkel. It's just when you go in water Crossings are supposed to do it fluently and surely. Newer landcruisers like those aren't really meant to be seeing heavy off-road terrains. They have too much to electronic gizmos and gadgets that are really expensive to replace. Suggest getting an older vehicle with manual labor.
PS. From someone who's done water crossing before I highly do not recommend it because it's a pain in the butt to maintenance parts. Water will get into almost everything. I had water squirting out of my manual transmission stick and my 4 wheel drive transfer case

I hit a Black Bear at 60mph and the only damage was at the area behind the front left tire, which was cosmetic. It was a big BOOM, and the car barely moved. The only issue I had was the rear brakes. This was a 2002 Land Cruiser with 170,000 miles I got for $9,000.

Love the humor and self-deprecation! Quality and reliability are paramount … the FJs have both in spades. (Rover and Jeep owners will never get it … gadgets are fun, for the mall-run).

Even though I'm not a truck guy, this made me feel good. My Lexuc SC400 has essentially this same engine, and only 140,000 miles on it. "Designed to last for generations." Yup!

They have timing chains not belts. Dont forget to change the heater hose plastic T couplers behind the block between it and the firewall with stainless steel ones, you won't regret it.

Too soon to know if I love him, as you do. But he shows clear signs of being, as we say in Texas, a genuine, card-carrying, smartass, which we know to be an extremely good sign.

My dad owned his last Land Cruiser for 16 years. Bought when it was 4 or 5, it was great! One of the batteries lasted until it was about 18 years and around 120-140k miles and the other not much less.
4.2 litre though, so it was a guzzler and not needed when we moved to city, sadly.
He sold it with ease and at a decent price too, because the purchaser was a fan of that model.

Here in the Scandinavia, probably only engines are left of these. Nearly all of the older ones (pre-2000) have succumbed to rust, and these which are still on the roads have been welded, patched and repatched up many times over. Rust was the arch-nemesis of old Toyotas.
