Your calm detailed explanation of what the club is doing but MORE importantly how the body's motion in the swing affects what the club is doing is simply brilliant. I will be seeing you on Patreon soon. Thanks Jonathan.
The only channel an amateur needs to watch. This is a complex sequence of movements that takes a minimum of 20 minutes to explain, but I understand you completely
This is explained perfectly and so very important. Again, humbly, & respectfully speaking: What I do, is wrap my lead hand in a "bath towel". Next, I put my lead foot against a solid brick wall, and make swings ........ getting the FLAT/TOP part of the LEAD HAND "flat against the wall". This seems to FORCE the body to train itself for a perfect, solid "inline impact position" with "awesome body rotation" - every single time. So simple, but it works ? Tony
I don't think you ever mentioned "the position" in your "Release" video, but quite honestly, your showing me "the position" has completely changed my game. I've wanted to maintain my right wrist extension longer, but it just never transpired. Your "position" showed me I can hang on until I get to the position and it's not too late to still release the club. I know the release is gradual as you said in this video, but practicing obtaining "the position" in practice and slow-motion practicing has shown me what I've been missing in my swing. Wow, I now know how compression and clean hits feel more often and why. Thank you, Jonathan.
Another thought. I'm wondering if I could say the "Release is Impact". The reason I say that is do you think the pros think more of getting to a release, straight arm position and impact becomes more an after thought where the ball just got in the way. As I practice these feels before hitting balls, it seems I should concentrate on the release feeling in front of the ball and a little to the right...not hitting at all. How do you feel about that, Jon? Thank you.
Another superb lesson. Question: I practice and video my swing a lot indoors without hitting a ball, or indeed my wooden flooring! Is it true that this would result in the club head overtaking the hands faster than they would should there be an impact with a ball? Thanks
The legs, especially the straightening of the lead leg, plays such a powerful role in controlling the release - but you dont discuss that? Can you help us more in the role of the legs in an effective release.
At 12:00 into video you talk about shaft stiffness. Can the shaft dictate how hard you swing as body knows how to return club to the ball? If you had regular shaft, maybe you wouldn’t be “quicker” in transition?
Why do you teach amateur golfers to play like a professional? It will never happen. Perhaps you should show at good amateur swing and try to improve his or her swing. It’s an okay video, but I’m not your audience. I hope it’s ok I say this..🤔🤔👍
Jonathan has changed my game, quite for the better. I'm not a professional, but I'm playing excellent golf and scoring well due to the instruction. I hope it's ok to say that your response is somewhat silly.
The student improves by emulating better players. The teacher shows the student what better players do. The professional is a better player than most. Therefore the teacher shows most students what the professional does. I can't see an alternative option for the teacher?
This is a great video..will be watching it twice ,so much good information...gold

I look forward to it Paul👍

Awesome! I feel like I have gone to golf school. Is there a "love" button? Can't wait for spring.

If it works use it:)
Wow, I like that. With "the position", it would be like hitting an impact bag, which I don't have...but I do have towels. Thank you for your tip.

You are a great teacher!
Loved the explanation and descriptions. Helps me understand the sequencing and the effects. Small steps.
Glad it was helpful!
Always a good source of solid information and explaination
Thank you for your great explanation on the release . Great information and so easy to understand.
Thank you
All great instruction. Parametric acceleration is that lead hand pulling around and up to achieve the acceleration of the pendulum.
Excellent Jonathan, i am always trying to understand the release.
I am so grateful for yr videos Jonathan, each one brings me deeper into the mysteries of golf.. Thanks so much!
You are very welcome!
@@JonathanTaylor63 I understood for 1st time after decades of golf the root cause for Chickenwing swings 😊
Thank you so much for making this Awesome video Jonathan, preciated!
My pleasure!
Great explanation and we get to execute all this in less than 1.5 seconds?
Love your content

I sent you an answer on discord Rick, but think of the release happening after the ball and a little to the left if you are right handed.

You are unlikely to apply the same pressure to the club as you would with a ball and without the fear of ruining your flooring.

Most certainly, if you feel the shaft is too stiff or soft you will compensate.
Light bulb moment, thank you
Great! Thanks.

No Problem, there is a coach out there for everyone, you just have to find them.
