    Very good explanation. Just by trial and error I today I discovered how much fun it is to incorporate my thigh Muscle when using my driver and how much farther the ball goes. I was lifting my head as you explained so next time I will work on lowering it instead. Thanks

    I’ve been playing since I was 10 years old (I’m now 74) and have finally found a teaching golf coach that has helped me understand the most important motions and positions that all accomplished golfers execute during their golf swings.. Your video presentations are superbly organized and clearly presented. I thank you for you’re untiring devotion to the best game ever invented by mankind.

    I think the value of a golf lesson is tied to how well it speaks to the student specific to his or her needs in the moment. This is a valuable piece of instruction from Jonathan Taylor. For where I am at with my swing, given the things I am currently working on, this is one of the most on-target pieces of golf instruction I have seen on TH-cam. in 14 minutes you manage to completely cover what I need to work on, in terms of motions, positions, and feels, in a way that is thorough and convincing.

    Brilliant, best instruction in years. Been doing a lot of your drills. Just started carrying the ball 295 yards. A few tonight I could not even see where they landed, way out. The head down is huge, it maintains the chain of power for release and its the only way to hit high center or middle of the face. Just fantastic stuff, it’s so enjoyable to pound the ball, great stress relief. Thank you.

    This is what I have been searching for in my golf journey! I have focused on using my legs & feet this past year & have my driving & short game going OK. But I am falling forward still because I am coming up too soon, like Anika. This drill will get me using more ground force now that I see the head going down & the sequence of hips chest shoulders arms! Thank you.

    The knees are super-important where the pivot is concerned. Trevino said that he “broke” his knees past the ball in transition to lay the club off etc. He even claimed that he had a slide, but what it appears to me that he was doing was aiming his knees ahead of the ball as he rotated. Few players finished with a lead leg more angled away from the target than Trevino. Although the hip rotator muscles do the work, all I think of from the top is to point my knees in front of the ball.

    only watched to 1.48 but At Last a Pro describing golf as a throwing action!Most golfers would benefit from thinking of the body action as a getting out of the way and then a fast clearing action to release the whole club to target.Unfortunately most golfers use their body in a hitting action to hit the ball with the clubhead and/or throw the clubhead at the ball.

    In another video you incorporated a left shoulder movement ("rowing backwards") with the hip rotation (shallow the club out and match shoulder and hip rotation). It's not mentioned in this video. Do you still recommend it?

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is a good way of stopping your trail shoulder following your hip rotation at the start of your downswing.

  • @rickstevens9628
    @rickstevens9628 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I must say, I believe I need to reduce my swing thought(s) to those that begat the best motions. I have a backswing thought that puts my shoulders and my hips into a good position and from your instruction I'm keeping my weight more on the inside right foot during the backswing. Now, transition, I must ask you, do you think right side bend begats left hip opening with some help from left foot pressure OR do you believe left hip opening begats right side bend with some help from right foot pressure? I understand the lower body starting the swing and opening the left hip and left foot pressure assisting in opening the hip and I understand right side bend and the club shallowing and the elbow coming into the side and the head dropping, but do you think one thing leads to the other or are they both done at the same time? Is there an answer to this?

    • @JonathanTaylor63
      @JonathanTaylor63  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that the hips and shoulders are being driven at the same time and that you could use whatever swing thought works for you. We all have a different feeling based on our bodies feedback.

    Jonathan, do you have any drills that retrain the mind to trust that the club will not hit the ground? That is my biggest problem. I have pretty good weight trasfer and rotation but everytime I try to sit down thru the rotation I bottom out the club. My mind is still trying to flip the club early to square the clubface. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

    Hi Jonathan, Can i just say your instruction is superb. Lots of great ideas on your channel. I have purchased your ebook. Can i ask is there any chance of getting your clips onto a dvd. Would be handy to take to tournaments when i am stuck in the hotel or b and b. I'm up in Scotland and some of the wifi and phone signals are not good. Keep up the good work.
    More short game feel drills would be good. I am prone to yip chips. Being a low handicapper i can sometimes get away with it but it takes just one error and my score can be destroyed. Currently going through my club championship qualifying and your tips have helped get some real consistency in place for these high pressure rounds. All the best Steve

      Maybe, but most weekend golfers stay much too long on the right foot during the swing. The pressure on the left foot (heel), what you need at impact comes way to late. It will not help, when you tell them to stay even longer on the right side. I know, what you really want to explain, but the way you show it will lead to massive missunderstandings. Sorry for bad english.@@JonathanTaylor63
