The reason that the cars are the best sellers in the first place is because they are so cheap, for example in germany the suzuki swift costs at least 17000€ (14 lakhs) But in india you can get the same car for only 6 lakhs. they have to make the cars with cheaper materials so that they are cheaper to sell and also because the regulations aren't that strict in india they are able to make worse cars for the indian marlet

@@Harman.s.ghotra yeah if a swift is launched here in 14 lacs according to Indian mindset it's too much for a hatchback, with that kind of mindset , there is no choice for manufacturers other than to compromise. People here should be educated about of vehicle safety and need to to have good built vehicles , they have to first leave their kitna deti h mindset first . Also it should be mandatory that every cars sold here before launch should be crash tested and should score 4-5 stars

@@unknownanimist2200 The mindset is changing now and hence TATA is racing up the numbers. But still this is a minority number which looks into the detail of Engineering. As the guy in reply rightly putout, norms need to be stricter first infact which is being pushed harder for now and it’s Maruti the first company which started opposing the push saying it makes vehicle costly. But it’s a price increase for every car that’s sold for a good reason. Mahindra and Tata are moving towards safe cars for India and that’s a good thing.
I have always tried voicing this among my friends...Hyundai's cars are UNSAFE! But, people don't much about this coz we only hear about Suzuki's cars being unsafe (which is also a fact).
Many people miss the point that if Hyundai and Kia has to provide a feature rich car at a lower price (such as Venue, i20, Celts, Sonet even Creta) at a lower price than it's competitors (such as Tata), they must've done some cost cutting for sure! That cost cutting is seen in these crash tests.
Hyundai cars are priced lower? Mate I'am not sure which country you are referring to but I think i20 top spec for almost 15L and creta at 22-23L is not lower to any car in their respective segments. Which other hatchback cost 15L in India today?

Hyundai cars is well known after Toyota all over the world but the build quality is compromised in India, their engines are advanced technology , after sales service is better than other brands, so people are lured by it. Tata cars are solid built but their service quality is not same everywhere, otherwise Tata and Mahindra are the best in India.

Like in North America their Tucson, Elantra and Sonata are some of the best selling cars... In UK, Europe and Oceania their i20n and i30n are also slowly replacing the Fiesta and the Focus... Overall they are good globaly...

Partial blame actually goes on us too. Creta sold in South Asian market doesn't come as fully loaded as in India. But its 5 star rated in ASEAN NCAP. In India we value those things more which we can touch and feel and use on daily basis. Hence loads of features is a priority for them. And this shows. Pick up any comparison video in automobile related channels. They will crown Creta the best car, because it is the most packaged one. This mindset must change, and this should start with us. Unless we don't start prioritizing safety, they wont.
Safety comes at a cost. Our cars are not hard solid like lockers. Then it will be expensive....

Wagonr and Swift are meant for city roads where both cars will be less than 40km in an accident, therefore they are adequate. If you want to travel on highways, then go for a fast suv with 4 star safety. Maruti is for chilling in traffic of cities like Bangalore and Mumbai. In my case we have dzire for city and Innova crysta for longer travel.

I have a Verna with 6 airbags and it has scored a 5 star in the ASEAN NCAP. The steel used in the Indian version and global version is of the same quality (you can check T-BHP for a post on this) and it is a really well built car. Be it the quality of plastics or the thud when shutting the door or how confidence inspiring the driving is.
People should do a lot of research before selecting a car and the safety aspect should be one of the most important factors apart from performance, reliability and AS&S. There are handful of cars from Hyundai which are exceedingly good, like the Elantra, Tucson, Kona and the Verna.
The Creta is such a bad and over-rated car and it has always surprised me how it has been selling like hot cakes in India
@Land Auto's Shorts no bro, the newer next gen creta which was launched in 2020 got the "special" spi2 platform which is the culprit here for the bad performance of creta and i20 in global ncap.
The verna and Elantra on the other hand are based on the older K2 platform of around 2017 which was way more stronger than these current platform.
The outgoing verna is still based on that solid platform and indeed is very strong,you can check on TH-cam about its real life crash performance

Suzuki had a dark horse in terms of safety which was the S-cross. It got 5-star in adult safety and 4-star in child safety. It's a shame that Suzuki never promoted their most premium offering.
The Global NCAP S-Cross was not the Indian one. The Indian version of S-Cross was never tested. We will never know their test. But considering Brezza and S-Cross both were based on the same global C platform, the S-Cross probably scored a similar 4 star rating.

May Hyundai Creta car engine failure just 55000 km drive and it was giving trouble after 45000 km and existing black smoke . But due to negligence of Hyundai engine sieges after 58000 km and I paid 2 lackhs for repair and replacement . I lost 2 lackhs rupees due to negligence of Hyundai Service.

Though they should definitely improve safety ratings, but we should all know that safety is subjective....a high speed crash on a highway many not save anyone even in a 5 star rated car! Star rating is an assurance and not an insurance !! Drive safe.

But TUV 300 and bolero neo , are based on new gen Ladder on frame , and they have better crumple zones in front , so they are anyday better performer in crash test than old bolero,scorpio

Correct me if I am wrong but as far as I remember, Scorpio was tested without airbags that time. There was no awareness about safety that time. If it's tested today, it would definitely score more than creta, seltos

Venue ka kitna hai? I have venue and mera ek bara accident hua tha, impact was big, airbags nahi khule but sirf Bonet par sent aaya chota and fog light nikal gayi, baki scratches, but dusri gadi jisne galat turn karke Mari thi wo aage se ander chali gayi thi.
I am glad I got a Tata Nexon. Features are superflous and can be added later or are usually not needed also.

Ultra strength steel (780 MPa )and Advanced High strength steel (550MPa) tensile strengths are different.
UHSS also may have grades as kia optima TH-cam video shows1400MPa.
Kia definitions may be different
Hyundai/KIA uses 70% AHSS , may be this steel shown in A pillars is UHSS but not as good they use Aboard.
May be strength between 780-1400MPa.
They should make Indian cars same quality as in US.

I knew about this even before this video, whenever I tried telling people that Hyundai and kia are worse than suzuki they laughed at me, called me Suzuki fanboy and stuff. I have always encouraged people to buy indian cars, look at korea, 70% market is dominated by only Hyundai. Their people support their companies, meanwhile here in india we have suzuki and Hyundai as the biggest companies not our own companies even tho they are more safe.

Indian consumer doesn't consider safety and build as major factor when buying cars. Rather than they go for price, mileage and features. That's why Maruti and Hyundai are so successful. If we start giving importance to safety and build car makers will also respond.

No country's people look for safety while buying cars. Because people know that safety of a car lies in the hand of safe driving. Most people in us, Europe look for reliability and longevity while buying cars. That's why Toyota and Honda are among the most sold car brands. Indian car brands fail to rule the global market because of less reliability. Even American people buy Japanese brands instead of American brands. Nationalism doesn't work in business. When I buy something I buy it as a consumer. Tell tata and Mahindra to bring good engine, reliability, good mileage, then I'll think of buying their cars. Otherwise all rational consumers will choose Toyota over so called swadeshi brands. It gives good mileage, reliability as well as safety.

Companies try to make cars more cost efficient and do lots of cost cutting. Meanwhile govt. also puts taxes on buying cars which makes them a bit more expensive. Moreover people go for fuel efficiency instead of safety and build quality. Due to these reasons companies make cars more cheaper by decreasing build quality. So main culprit is the govt. which is not tight over the safety regulations also govt should reduce taxes on cars too.

Bhai Harman system is terrible versus Hyundai default system. Tata cars music system is more like chann chann chapri music than actual pure soul wrenching sounds of Hyundai and Maruti - Harsh but its the truth.

I have 2 Hyundai cars in the family both are a pain in the neck. Their spare parts are sky high costly and quality control is poor as well as the service centres are also having poor quality.
That doesn't matter if scores was is point increase or not , unsafe is unsafe
I have kia sonet. But a small accident being run over a dog on highway caused massive frontal damage.

Recently my cousin hit/touch Tata Nexon in slow moving traffic, Nexon between front door and front wheel area, the damage was very visible , dents were there but creta shape was intact no dents , just painting to be done in the area of contact.

TATA's USP is build quality and people now a days giving more priority to safety compare to other factors. No doubt Suzuki (MS) or Hyundai is top player due to those other factors like (After Sales Services , Resale , Fuel Efficiency , Engine Refinement also goodwill) in which TATA Motors lagging.I hope in future TATA motors will try to tick all this checkbox and will provide overall good package to Indians.
Many of my friends who own MS cars they are also buying their second or third car of TATA and they are satisfied with this ups and down with TATA.
To be frank mostly 90's people are blindly fan of MS and Hyundai bcoz at that time TATA's car is not practical but now scenario is changing.
