    Government Will never promote cycling
Here are few reason for that:
    1. Cycling don't uses fossil fuels, so government won't be able to make profits if people switch to cycling.
    2. Government won't get any insurance money from cycling.
    3. Hospital revenue will do down, because cyclist don't fall ill very often.
    4. Government won't be able to collect road taxes from cyclist.
    5. No traffic chalan for cyclist.
    6. Less accidents from cyclist.
#cycling is bad for economy, therefore will never promote it.
Here is a fun fact, road bikes are very expensive because of the import duty, and other taxes.

    Nice topic brother,
In Indian society a vehicle shows the economic status of individual..
its not a mere mode of transportation,
Even in tier 2 cities family of four uses four different sedans, SUVs just for the sake of status.
Car pooling, public transport considered as low class.

Instead of arguing silly points... Govt should focus on one thing
    1. Make walkable cities. City planning Dekhi hai... Naye cities ki. Markets ek side. Living space alag side, office space dusrey koney me. It's a night mare if you have to do some marketing whole Coming from office. Without cars not possible. Even if you provide good public transport... Even then people will buy car. Because I will have to take three changes. I have to stand in que in 3 places. And then I will have to walk to the market. Plus there is no guarantee I will get a seat. Plus restriction on big luggage in metros and buses. In my car I can buy whatever I want, throw everything inside and go to my home in comfort. No hassle. So improve your city planning first. Wo to ho nai sakta.
    2. Make roads walkable. Heavy fine lagao traffic rules break karne pe. Gaand tod do motorcyles walo ki.. Agar badtameezi karein. Lane rule follow karao. Utha k jail me dalo 1 hafte k liye jo 3-4 baar se Jada rule break kare. Bike walo ki bike jabdt karo agar over speeding karein, lane splitting karein, footpath pe bike chalein, road side park karein. Car walo ki kar jabdt karo agar idhar udhar park karein, agar lane nai follow karein. Driving license cancel karo. Heavy fine lagao agar zebra crossing k pehle na ruke. Tab ja k walking space cycling safety hogi. But humarey pas to police hi nai hai. Mutthi bhar police hai... Kya kya kar legi... To ye option bhi nai hai.
    3. Office areas me metro stops honi chaiye. Buses me seats full honey pe... Nai bharna chaiye logo ko. Aur buses chalao, aur trains chalao.
    4. Apni taxi service thik karo. Proper complaint ka traika rakho. Overcharging aur surcharging control Karo. Sala 9 km travel karne me 500 ka bill ata hai.
Govt se ye sab kaam to ho nai sakta. To car walo pe tax lagao.
Aur India ki adhi jutna ka to yahi nara hai.... Agar koi Humse ameer hai to uski gaand maro. Tum gareeb ho.... To car waley kya karein. Aur car rakhne se koi ameer nai ho jata. Ah k din me car luxury nai hai. Aur ha mera beta 17 saal ka hoga to usko uski car dunga. Mere Baap ne nai di thi, because paise nai thein. Koi Baat nai hai. But usme car walo ki kya galti thi. Thik usi tarah se tumhare baap k pas paisa nai hai.... Shanti se baitho... Aur bus me jao. Mai aur mere bacchey nai jayenge.

    Solutions should be these
    1. Ban of vehicles should be on the base of pollution level it generates..after every 5 years there should be a test for pollution level for every Car,which Car pass it should be free to go
    2. There should be a law in Delhi for owing the vehicle. One family should only own One car.. If that family need another Car then they should have to get a certificate from government that why they need car. If their reason is valid then only they can buy otherwise strictly No..
    3. Ur solution of CNG for petrol Cars after 15 yrs is absolutely right.
4.If govt. Don't agree on that then they should have to reduce their Taxes for cars.. Taxes should be base on how many yrs car registration is valid.. If a car is valid for only 10 years then their taxes should also be Low compare to 15 or 20 yrs car tax..

Instead of going for car ban may be invest in better infrastructure. In Delhi which is widely placed unlike Mumbai which is congested... Car is an absolute essential.
And people who call car a luxury will call ACs, fridge and washing machine a luxury too.
Delhi has a culture of spending money. Infact whole of North Indian states they spend money more and save less. They spend the mo ey for their COmfort.
I own a car, my wife owns a car, my brother owns a car, his wife has her own car. Iwe live In the same house. Its because we need them. I travel 20 km in one direction, my wife travels 30 km in other direction every day . We all are professionals. Local train me dhakkey nai कहा saktey. Paisa hai to gaadi kahridi hai, apne Comfort k liye.
Bike pe Delhi ki garmi, aur sardi nai jhel sakta Mai. Bahut ho gaye waise din. Ab paisa de raha hai bhagwan to comfort kharid raha hu.
Ye bc Chaman chutiya sarkar hai aur kucch nai.
30 percent tax dete hain hum 4 apne income se. Ab koi bc gareeb hai... Isme Mai kya karu. Ja k sarkar ko bolo.
5 saal pehle tak Mai bhi train aur buses ki dhakkey khayein hain. Sabka theka le kar baitha hu kya mai?
And that pollution bullshit.... Aave it for somebody else. There are bigger cities than Delhi with more cars. If you want to compare New Delhi to Mumbai.... You will find Mumbai has more cars. If you want to compare whole of Delhi, than add Bhiwandi, Thane, Mumbra, Navi Mumbai. (roughly same area combined as Delhi)... And thus even there Mumbai has more cars.
Go and oppose the farmers who are taking shortcuts and burinugn stubble. But no... The govt will suck the cocks of those leeches.

Solution is super robust public transport system in combination with promotion of shared E rickshaw/EV cars and cycling. India lacks in resources of land and petrol fuels. So we don’t have option but to adopt Japanese and Singapore models.

    4:46 Correction -
    1. Coal based power plants are more energy efficient than individual ICE.
    2. Coal plats are normally away from cities, so unlike ICE, coal plants don't cause direct pollution for already heavily polluted cities.
    3. We are 3rd largest renewable energy producer in the world.
    4. We are the only G20 country to not just meet but to exceed the Paris climate change agreement.
    5. In last 8 years our renewable energy capacity has increased by extraordinary 286%.
    6. India has achieved its NDC target with total non-fossil based installed energy capacity of 158.17 GW which is 40.2% of the total installed electricity capacity.
    7. The country has set an ambitious target to achieve a capacity of 175 GW by 2022, & 500 GW by 2030 (i.e. 50% of total production)
    8. Looking at 8 years performance, 2022 & 2030 targets completely achievable.
    9. India is world leader in research on Thorium based nuclear power plant (we have lots and lots of Thorium deposits unlike Uranium) and we should have production plat ready in 10 to 15 years.
Steps to tackle pollution in big cities:
    1. Instead of following American model of Cars first we should follow European or Japaneses model of public transport and cycling.
    2. Promote 2 wheeler EV as India's ~60% oil is used by ICE two wheelers. EV two wheelers are completely practical for cities usage and also way more cost efficient than ICE counterparts.
    3. Promote ICE to EV or CNG conversion kit.

Too many vehicles and too much traffic congestion is just because most of the economic activities of urban areas is confined to very small, old and narrow areas.

US me ek truck driver BMW kharid sakte hain. India me scenario different hain. Why should we scrap good condition Vehicle ? It looks misuse of resource . How much co2 emmitted to produce a new car ? Scrap > recycle > produce new car ... Doesn't increases co2 emmition.

Same NGT used to fight tooth and nail against central government for availability of cheaper CNG until 2014.
Then for some reason, NGT caved in front of present govt and the prices of CNG are comparable to petrol now.
CNG causes a lot less pollution and are far more practical than EVs at the moment.
But what can be said against this autocratic govt!!

The biggest issue of our country is to put the restrictions first, and never give a proper solution to the actual problem.
Exam me cheating rokne ke liye strongest restrictions, but education system ko sudharne ke liye no strong measures.

Issue is Govt takes 50% taxes on cars and we can’t hold the cars for more than 10/15 years.. and resale also comes down drastically..
If I keep my car in perfect shape why should I have to sell the car in 10 years? And pay exhorbitant money and taxes everytime
Reduce taxes on new cars in NCR then

I dont know why every one are supporting EV so much ignoring the fact that EV vehicle produce carbon emission considerably more than ICE engine vehicle in its lifetime. Lithium production itself cause humongous carbon emissions. Then how did EV is greener option . check your facts before giving a statement.
